Good service and quality products

Very happy with this company, wide selection of blinds made to measure. Detailed videos for self-installation at home. We found a very high quality product, so much so that we ordered more after first purchase for the whole flat.

All went well but they don't answer emails

My experience was ok, item was shipped on the same day as the order - as described - and it arrived promptly, and the item was ok. However, I send the customer service an email and never got any reply, so I'd imagine if something had gone wrong, it would be challenging. There is no phone number on the website either.

Great service, both for quick boiler repairs and full replacement

We contacted Darren of Glasgow Boiler Repairs for a boiler and flue replacement after he had come twice on emergency calls to successfully fix our old boiler on a short notice.
Darren provided a comprehensive and reasonably priced quote to replace the boiler and the entire flue to a new one of our choice. We kept discussing the job via email, adding smart thermostat and valves, and Darren was prompt and courteous in answering all requests. He came and did a challenging job to a very high standard, due to replacing a long flue hidden in a false ceiling, requiring some joinery, which he did very well. We are very satisfied with the job and the overall quality and professional attitude of Darren and colleagues at Glasgow Boiler Repairs. We highly recommend them!

Visited for a quote, never heard back

An engineer visited our flat upon requesting a quote for a boiler replacement. We discussed several options verbally. Since then, haven't heard back, despite several reminders: they just stopped answering all emails. If the company wasn't interested in the job, after visiting and discussing, they could have at least told us.

Great service for bike spares

The shop has the best selection of Mavic spares in the UK, all perfectly catalogued and described, among many other bike items. The postage is incredibly fast. I ordered a wrong set of bearings by mistake, the shop offered refund immediately and even offered help to find the right set for me, responding emails on a Saturday evening. Top service.

More than a month to get a parcel and still chasing it…

More than a month to get a parcel delivered to me and still chasing it. Looking at tracking history, first "incorrect address" which was then solved after several days. Then 2 "attempted deliveries" which were either done at the wrong address or not done at all since we were home, and no slip was left. So I got the parcel redirected at the local post office for collection (took 7 days for that). Now it appears they have dropped it at the wrong Post Office.
Unfortunately it was not my choice to use Parcelforce, but if you have the choice, just stay away.

Great competence and experience

I had a bike fit, with cleat positioning/angles, and bike geometry, and a peak power test. Orbis is a very well equipped lab, with a range of different components to try and a computer-controlled fitting bike. Nuno, the owner, started measuring my bike, reproducing the exact geometry on the fitting bike, and starting from there. Nuno and his colleague are extremely professional and knowledgeable in both bike engineering and the biomechanics of the human body. Nuno is so passionate that was explaining me the effect of every change in geometry, which means I know more now and can also try small changes myself. Very pleasant experience and also informative. Would happily recommend.

Hi MC thank you so much for your review. At that time I had a student with me doing her dissertation. I act as an external supervisor for the Uni of Glasgow students' of the Sports Science degree, as a biomechanics specialist. It is great to have the opportunity to teach and supervise end of year thesis. With the student you mentioned we actually created a new tool to measure cleat alignment based on transverse plane rotations of the foot. This will be an improvement on current tools that are over complicating the alignment (by using mm scales which are too small for this gross application) and not focusing on essencial biomechanical aspects of pedalling. Hopefully our tool will change that. Currently in testing to be submitted to scientific journals for peer review and publishing.

Bulbs that often burst after short time

I replaced all my GU10 bulbs (~30) with LEDs from Led Hut a couple of years ago. Their Lumilife bulbs started to burst soon after, and continued to burst periodically. I got them replaced under the 5-year warranty they were offering back then (a hassle, with many forms and postages, but they did send new ones). Recently I contacted them for more replacements due and they told me the old company went into administration and this new one (which by the way has exactly the same logo, name and website...) cannot honour older warranties. So I am left with 4 bulbs burst, and probably many others that will likely fail soon and no replacement offered. Whether this new company will honour their current warranty of 3 years on similar bulbs, I don't know, but I'd stay away.

Worst in the UK

Hermes is the worst delivery service I have ever had to deal with in the UK. Some online retailers use Hermes and not a single time the delivery was smooth. I have had parcels marked as delivered while they were not, and others simply delayed (or "held") for no reason. There is no way to contact them, one always has to go through the retailer. This is unacceptable for today's standards, when others offer real-time GPS tracking, possibility to contact the driver on mobile, and most importantly professionalism.
I recommend retailers to refrain from using Hermes for their deliveries, because customers will eventually avoid it and go elsewhere.
