To whom it may concern,
I am writing to express my serious dissatisfaction and concern regarding the threatening and unjustified correspondence I have been receiving from SmartestEnergy.
I have never entered into any agreement or contract with your company. Despite this, I continue to receive aggressive and threatening emails demanding payment of a substantial sum, which appears to be entirely baseless. This behavior is not only distressing, but also completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
I demand that SmartestEnergy immediately:
Cease all further contact regarding this alleged debt,
Provide evidence of any signed agreement or contract (which does not exist),
Issue a formal apology for the undue stress and harassment caused by these communications.
If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will not hesitate to:
I will Report this behavior to Ofgem and the Energy Ombudsman,
I will Lodge a formal complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if my personal data has been processed unlawfully,
You pushed me to share my experience with your corrupt company therfore, i share my experience on public review platforms and social media to warn other potential customers.
SmartestEnergy for ongoing harassment, unfounded threats, and clear mismanagement.
For over a year, I have received weekly threatening emails from your company, falsely claiming that I owe money and that you will attend my property to remove my energy meter. Let me be absolutely clear:
I have never entered into any agreement or contract with SmartestEnergy.
I have no outstanding balance with your company.
There is no legal or factual basis for the repeated threats of enforcement or meter removal.
I have responded to your communications on multiple occasions, yet you persist in falsely claiming that I have never been in touch.
This kind of intimidation and harassment is completely unacceptable, and it appears to violate both consumer protection laws and data protection regulations.
If I genuinely owed you money, I would expect a lawful and transparent process — not harassment based on fabricated claims. The fact that this has continued for over a year is disgraceful and deeply distressing.
I hereby demand that SmartestEnergy:
1. Immediately cease all communications and threats relating to this false claim.
2. Provide full documentation of any supposed agreement — which you will not be able to do, because no such contract exists.
3. Formally acknowledge my previous responses and issue an apology for falsely stating that I had not replied.
Should this matter persist, I will escalate this case to:
The Energy Ombudsman
Ofgem
or my solicitor
I will the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for possible misuse of my personal data
I will also publish my experience on public review platforms to warn others.
I expect this issue to be resolved without delay.
Furthermore, I am placing your company on formal notice that I am seeking full compensation for the distress, inconvenience, and harassment caused by your repeated unlawful and threatening communications over the past year.
If this matter is not resolved immediately, I will begin the process of pursuing:
Compensation for emotional distress and reputational damage.
