Ryanair refuses to give a refund on a private transfer booking they instructed us to cancel

Ryanair refuses to give a refund on a private transfer that had to be cancelled because they changed the flight time.
Ryanair changed the flight time for the return flight from Verona to Birmingham. Their instruction was to cancel the transfer booking and rebook via their portal. We cancelled the transfer but the portal would not let us rebook, so we had no choice but to book with another provider.
Ryanair now refuses to refund the cancelled booking.
This has cost us close to £200.
