Review of Mr Central Heating

Really poor customer service and after service

I’ve bought many things from Mr Central Heating over quite a years including 3/4 boilers, many radiators and other bits and pieces and Never had a problem, that was until something went wrong with an item I bought!
I purchased all of the cast iron radiators for my flat that we renovated in 2021 and they looked great. Unfortunately after a few years of working great we noticed that the coating was bubbling on the tops on 2 of the 7 radiators. I had to visit the store to buy another radiator anyway so took photos we me of the faulty rads.
I showed the guy behind the counter who told me that there wouldn’t be a problem as they were well within the 5 year warranty, all I had to do was email some pictures of the radiators and the bubbling and he would forward on to head office and arrange for them to be replaced. I did explain to him that I couldn’t find my invoice but they will have it all on record under my name, he told me that they had a brand new computer system and that all past records had been deleted but not to worry as they were obviously bought from them from the photos plus Tte fact I just bought another to match. I thought to myself what great customer service. How wrong could you be!
A couple of weeks went by and I heard nothing so I sent a follow up email to see if there was any updates. Anyway again I was told no problem but I need to send more photos plus which sizes I needed! Again I followed instructions and sent it all through. Another 2 weeks went by and still no word. This time I called to chase things up to see when we will be getting our replacement radiators. This time was a different tone from the member of staff. I was now told that without my original invoice they wouldn’t be able to replace the rads! I also receive quite an abrupt email from head office that I thought was quite rude which basically said you ain’t getting new ones and that’s it. I did respond but have been ignored ever since. All the photos I sent through and the month of waiting was all for nothing. Was it my fault that they replaced there system and lost all their data? They knew I bought the radiators from them but some jobsworth has obviously stepped in and found a way out of replacing the obviously faulty products. These radiators should last for a long time, long time not 3 years.
Unfortunately It seems Mr Central Heating are great when they are taking money off of you but when it comes to giving a little back it’s a different matter which shows with there 2.3 rating on here. Quite shortsighted of them too as I certainly won’t be spending any more of my hard earned money with them again. Shame on you mr Central Heating!!!! 😞

UPDATE

I have now managed to find the transactions on my bank statements now I know what name I’m looking for. it’s under UDH and also one receipt and was told by them that they couldn’t find any history of transactions so now they have the actual dates and proof of purchase there shouldn’t be any excuses

Review of The Letting Game

ONE STAR NOT LOW ENOUGH.

As the title says 1 star isn’t low enough for The Letting Game, what an absolutely treacherous company they really are and they know every dirty trick in the book. I am the guarantor for my daughter who went into a property that they manage a year ago. I thought things weren’t the best when they done the pre move in inventory without my daughter or me being present which isn’t normal. The flat itself was disgusting and wasn’t even cleaned before she moved in with switches hanging off the walls, cracked glass, broken lock on the front door and paint missing everywhere. The heating didn’t work but my daughter insisted on taking it as she desperately needed somewhere close to her work. Anyway before Christmas last year my daughter had a mental breakdown and was really ill, she was off work and had to move back in with me to be taken care of. I contacted the Letting game and a girl called Ffion who was apparently dealing with my daughter as I thought they might show a little empathy and maybe have some support system in place for this type of thing but, oh no that was not an option with These rogues. They seen this as the perfect opportunity to make a bit of money out of a vulnerable young girl. I was happy to pay a fixed amount and hand the keys back so my daughter could concentrate on getting better and to try to get her life back together.
They wanted £723 just to hand the keys back (which I was happy to pay) but was told that this was for them just to re advertise the flat. They made it clear that my daughter was liable for the property until the day someone new moves in. This was obviously not possible as my daughter was off work sick.
For the next six months I have been paying the rent on behalf of my daughter and she has been living was us and thank God is getting better. The letting Game knew they had me by the short and curlys as I was the guarantor.
Move out date was last week and we dropped the keys to the Letting Game personally so there would be no confusion. We thought this was the end of our “letting Game” nightmare but oh no, We have now had an email from the deposit holding company who tells us that this lovely company have emailed them and told them my daughter has extended her lease so her (my deposit) isnt to be released.
I honestly can not warn people enough about this company! They bend and break all of the laws of the rental industry and I know as I am a landlord myself. PLEASE IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON DOING ANY BUSINESS WITH THE LETTING GAME I WOULD HONESTLY THINK TWICE. ALL OF THESE 1 STAR REVIEWS ARE THERE FOR A REASON. I WISH I HAD READ THEM FIRST

I HAVE JUST TRIED TO CONTACT FFION AT THE LETTING GAME BUT SURPRISE, SURPRISE SHES UNABLE TO TALK TO ME. ILL KEEP THIS REVIEW UPDATED REGARDING OUR DEPOSIT!!
SO NEARLY 2 WEEKS NOW SINCE MY DAUGHTER MOVED OUT AND STILL DEPOSIT HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED. JUST TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY WE HAVE HAD AN EMAIL FROM THE LOVELY FfION WHO TELLS US THAT THEY HAVE NOTICED A COUPLE OF AREAS WHICH WERE SLIGHTLY DIRTY AND NEED A BIT OF A CLEAN SO THEY ARE HOLDING THE £1,000 DEPOSIT WHILE THEY FIND A CLEANING COMPANY TO GIVE THEM A PRICE. VERY STRANGE AS NOBODY HAS LIVED THERE FOR OVER 6 MONTHS. ALSO IF THIS IS TRUE THIS IS WEAR AND TEAR!
FROM READING THE OTHER REVIEWS ON HERE I HAVE NOTICED THAT THEY OFTEN USE THE OLD CLEANING TRICK IN ORDER TO HELP THEMSELVES TO YOUR DEPOSIT!
HONESTLY HOW THIS COWBOY COMPANY STAYS IN BUSINESS IS BEYOND ME! THEY SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN. I SHALL BE REPORTING THEM TO THE THE PROPERTY OMBUDSMAN (TPO)
AS I FINAL KICK IN THE TEETH WE HAVE NOW HAD £100 DEDICATED FROM OUR DEPOSIT FOR “CLEANING” EVEN THOUGH NOBODY HAS LIVED THERE FOR HALF THE TENANCY! WE’RE GETTING CHARGED TO CLEAN ANY DIRT THAT WAS THERE WHEN MY DAUGHTER ORIGINALLY MOVED IN! HONESTLY YOU COULDNT WRITE IT! AT LEAST THEY ARE NOW OUT OF OUR HAIR BUT I WOULD’NT BANK ON IT.
LETTING GAME AND FiON YOU GET THE AWARD FOR BEING THE WORST COMPANY IVE EVER COME ACROSS SO CONGRATULATIONS FOR THAT 🏆

Feel totally let down, wish I had gone elsewhere

Car - Mercedes GLC

Good points - Manish (very helpful)
1.Bad points - no V5 certificate on collection so couldn’t tax disabled with was agreed beforehand.
2. - no SD card so no active sat nav
3.- £108 admin fee even though no admin to do
4. - told would get £60 in fuel before collection but never happened ( never even got standard £30)
5. - car filthy when delivered even had green moss growing on window rubbers
6. - told to buy SD card and would be reimbursed but after waiting for over 2 weeks I gave up and told them to keep it.
7.- no car mats
8. - only one key (never mentioned)
Sent a friend to collect car for me as I’m disabled lots of problems listed above. As soon as they get your money they definitely lose all interest in you.
I found cheapest SD card I could and showed proof of purchase as requested but still not paid to the point it’s got embarrassing (have told them to keep it of £28.50 means that much to them) It’s as though they stripped the car of anything they could sell before collection. Feel really let down after paying £23,000 plus “fees” in advance.
I advise if your looking for a car steer well clear of Motor Range and definitely check the car before paying

Absolute letdowns

Absolutely useless, let me down on 2 occasions by not turning up! First time they let me know and rescheduled. The second time when I took the day off to meet them he just never turned up without any notice! I messaged him and was told “sorry I’m not well”

RUINED MY CREDIT SCORE FOR NOT PAYING A BILL I WAS NEVER SENT

In a nutshell they never sent me my final bill but then reported me to Experian for not paying it. My account still doesn’t mention the final bill amount now.
No matter how much proof I send them until now nothing has been done ruining my remortgage that is meant to be this month.
They marked my account as dormant from 12/2024 while I was still paying my direct debit in March 24 (have proof)
Rejected my move to Octopus energy but never told me then denied it. (Have proof)
Shut my fixed account down mid term and reopened me a more expensive one and hoped I wouldn’t notice (by the way this is illegal)
I cannot warn people enough to stay away from them as they think nothing of telling blatant lies then denying it.
I can only think they have done this purely out of spite for leaving them when my cheap fixed rate deal came to an end. Everything I have claimed I have screenshots of. I am waiting to go to the Energy ombudsman but they won’t reply to me with a letter or email of stalemate!
I’ve also made them aware that I have serious health issues but still they never reply

THE WORST HOLIDAY EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIVES

On 30th of March 2023 we booked one of P&O cruises to Norway which left on the 15th of April, after we were prompted to check in online 2 days after booking on 2nd of April we found my wife and 8 year old could but I couldn’t as apparently I never had enough time left on my passport.
Concerned We called P&O straight away to find out if there would be a problem. I had 3 months and 4 days left on my passport on the day of departure. The call handler wouldn’t confirm to us that there might be a problem and said we must just turn up on the day and see what happens.
I was really worried now and asked to cancel the trip. She told me that as there was only 13 days until the trip this wouldn’t be possible.
When We arrived at Southampton on the 15th of April and handed over my documents we were eventually told there was not not enough time left on my passport and although my wife and child could travel I couldn’t. I actually took print outs from the government & Post off travel websites with me which showed clearly as long as the passports were valid for 3 months on the date you leave then this is satisfactory to travel to Norway. I showed this to the P&O people at the port but they weren’t interested and said this meant “leave Norway” on return which it doesn’t.
The P&O staff at the terminal were absolutely ruthless and one person in particular seemed to take great delight in telling me that I couldn’t travel even though my 8 year old girl was sobbing her heart out and my wife and I were clearly devastated. There was absolutely no sympathy showed at all.
I am registered disabled and also have recently had a kidney transplant and also suffer from acute anxiety and depression. This is the first time I have Been well enough to travel in years and we were so excited. I returned home alone as I couldn’t let this ruin everyone’s holiday so my wife and child travelled without me. We cannot believe what has happened now it’s sunk in and my wife and child wished they never went without me as they didn’t enjoy a minute of it.
We couldn’t really afford this holiday but reluctantly put it on the credit card to make it easier to pay.
I am now paying for a holiday that I didn’t even go on when they could of allowed us to cancel on the 2nd and rebook when my passport was renewed. They allowed me to book a holiday that they had absolutely no intention of letting me go on and then refused to allow me to cancel straight after booking when we thought there might be problems. Not to mention the £100 I paid for parking in Southampton.
I have emailed P & O three times since but had no reply.
I really can’t believe what happened and the way we were treated. P&O you should be ashamed of yourselves treating a family in this way!!!! Please be warned when dealing with P&O as there is no depth they won’t sink to in order to take your money even if the know you will be unable to go

TOTAL DISGRACE AT CRIBBS CAUSEWAY BTISTOL

So I bought a tv from Curry’s that went wrong. It was collected by them for repair. I had a text after a few days saying it wasn’t repairable so I could have a new tv when I received a verification code. My code arrived so I went to the store to collect my new tv. When I got there I gave the code, showed Identification and was expecting to pick out a new television. I was then told that the code was not validated yet and that I would have to return at a later date. It took me an hour to get to the store and another to get home. I was talked to like an fool by one manager so I asked to speak to the store manager. He in turn was very rude and said the code was sent to me too early (like I should of known) they made me look a fool in front of other customers and wasted most of my day. I done absolutely nothing wrong and just followed the instructions sent to me. The tv I purchased is now discontinued so I was also told I would probably end up with a much lesser quality, cheaper tv as long as it has similar spec to the one that went wrong. Be very careful with Curry’s! They are great when they are trying to prize money from your pockets but as soon as they have it you are absolutely NOTHING TO THEM I have spent allot of money with them over the years but sadly I won’t be doing so again. Also the extra cover plan they sell isn’t worth the paper it’s written on

In regards to the voucher amount this is based on the specifications of your TV and will be matched with a similar TV in the aim to put you back in the same position you were before your TV went faulty. totally untrustworthy company

I transferred to Exra Energy as it came up as my cheapest option on compare the market! They quoted me a price of £66 per moth which was a saving of £12 per month on what I had been paying. After taking the £66 for the first 2 months on the 3rd month they decided to take over £92. There was no warning of this After contacting them and speaking to a extremely rude agent they told me that this was my new price.
I am living in Spain and wasn't even using any energy so what right did they have to change my price. This is a dishonest company who will say anything to get your custom and then bump your price up I am now in the process of switching AGAIN back to British gas. Don't be taken in by this micky mouse company! They shouldn't be allowed to trade
