Excellent service of boiler

Kai came to give our boiler its first service (it was installed by Smiths last December). It had developed a leak and, thanks to the excellent Zoe in the office, we were able to bring the service forward. He identified the source of the leak straightaway and sorted it. Then he did all the tests and servicing and kept us informed of what he was doing. Very clean and tidy worker and very polite and friendly.

My go-to company

Prices at All Beauty are very competitive. You have to ‘grab’ items when they’re in stock however as they can disappear quite quickly! Delivery seems slower than it used to be - hence the 4* but if you’re not in a hurry, it’s no problem.
A very trustworthy company.

Buy elsewhere!!

I have never, on principle, bought anything from this company as I do not approve of its tax evasion or its treatment of employees. Today however I broke my rule and ordered an item for my grandson’s birthday which was unobtainable on any other website. The buying process was surprisingly difficult and I felt unwillingly compelled to create an account. The money was immediately debited from my account but I received no email confirmation and order number. When I phoned customer services the operator could locate the order and the delivery details, but he couldn’t send me an email confirmation because his ‘system’ wouldn’t allow him to access the full email address! I offered to supply this over the phone, but that wasn’t possible either for ‘security reasons’. The call took 40 minutes (my call) and although he tried sending text messages to me to enable me to add the address, it proved impossible. Apparently, if I had the app this could be done, but why would I have an app for a company I rarely if ever use? Finally, he gave me the order number over the phone and I wrote it down with an old fashioned pen and paper!
Seriously, Amazon is not all it’s cracked up to be when its own systems are so sophisticated and ‘secure’ that customers cannot receive essential order details. This is definitely the LAST AND ONLY TIME I shall ever buy from them.

Swift and courteous Customer Care

My last review of Hayloft was rather negative because they’d sent some disappointingly weak Japanese Anemone plants.
Evie from Hayloft Customer Care responded straightaway and was fantastically helpful. She offered me replacement plants, but I opted for a refund.
This experience has restored my faith in Hayloft and I shall definitely shop with them again.
Meanwhile, the Penstemons I ordered at the same time are bedding in nicely!

Weak and frail Japanese anemones

I ordered three Penstemons and three Japanese anemones. The Penstemons were robust and healthy, but the anemones were tiny, pathetic little items. I potted them immediately but one died after a week. The other two are not doing well in spite of TLC. I don’t feel Hayloft should be offering such weedy specimens for sale.

Quick to deliver, slow to refund

Initially, I bought two dresses, one of which was returned. Very pleased with the slightly retro button style of the tea dress. Delivery was speedy.
No refund has yet appeared, hence the 4 stars. It seems that this is an experience shared by many other customers.
I shall not buy from Roman again, because, in these hard economic times, it is immoral for a retailer to effectively hang on to customers’ money and delay refunds for weeks.

Supporting a Yorkshire business

It was easy to choose and buy from the Hug website. I would’ve preferred a wider range of sizes, but the design (lemons and lilies) is fresh and welcoming. I hope it will perform well, but since buying the weather has been very dry, so no muddy marks! Pleased to be buying from a U.K. business.

We had a 15 KW WB boiler fitted in December 2022. It is quiet, functions beautifully and we’re using less gas than previously with our old Potterton boiler. The house feels warm and comfortable.

Skilled, efficient heating engineers

Richard Smith was recommended to us when our 19 year old boiler failed. It was close to Christmas and we feared we’d have a cold one, but he came promptly and spent an hour assessing our system, explaining things clearly and recommending a correctly sized boiler for our particular property. The work took three days as, in addition to fitting a new boiler, there were adjustments and improvements to be made to other areas of our system. Richard and Gerald worked extremely hard and were pleasant and courteous throughout. All the paperwork, guarantees etc were done correctly and the original quote was honoured and not exceeded.
We were extremely impressed with the quality of workmanship and feel at last we have a reliable and efficient central heating system and peace of mind for years to come.
We can highly recommend this company.

Knowledgeable, independent heating advice

Our 19 year old boiler was not performing well. Various plumbing companies gave us advice and estimates, but for most it was ‘just a one day job’, putting in an equivalent sized boiler to our existing one. Let’s face it, this a major investment and can seriously affect your quality of life!
We decided to pay for THH’s advice and filled in a comprehensive questionnaire which enabled Jo and team to recommend the size and type of heating system we required. Jo gave us a personal phone consultation and advised us to go for a 10-15 Kw boiler to replace our old 24 Kw boiler, which she maintained was oversized for our property.
An elite installer came round within three days, spent a full hour assessing our needs and offered a no obligation quote.
We now have what can only be described as a bespoke heating system, carefully and thoughtfully installed to cater for the heat loss potential of our house. The boiler is a 15 Kw fully guaranteed Worcester Bosch. The most reassuring factor was that the installer did not give us lots of incomprehensible verbiage as some plumbers do. He tackled the job by looking at our system as a whole, making adjustments to other areas and explaining every step of the process. The job took three days and was still competitively priced. The installers were highly competent and trustworthy.
We’re so thankful we contacted THH. The comparatively small fee was worth every penny. Thank you Jo and your team.

Evri delivered my Boden parcel with the minimum of fuss. I was kept well informed by email of the progress of the parcel, although no time slot was given. It just turned up, only two days after ordering, so I’m not complaining!

Good delivery, but poor on picking up return

No complaints at all about initial delivery of a parcel from Lakeland and delivery of the replacement item. However, I cannot give 5 stars as the pick up of the returned, damaged item was very unreliable. Evri kept emailing me and telling me there was a delay in picking up this item. They also claimed they’d tried to pick it up but there was ‘an issue accessing the delivery address’. We knew this was false as we were at home all the time and no attempt was made to pick up the parcel, which was sitting on our front doorstep!
We realise that returned goods obviously have a lower priority and the couriers are under time pressures, but sending out false emails to excuse non-pick up is frustrating for the customer!
