Excellent waste and recycling service for hard to reach properties

Bubbles and Bins were a life saver when the new recycling regulations came in in Wales as no other service could collect from my road. Service over the 18 months I have been using them has been excellent. Reliable, responsive, you get info on the expected collection day and confirmation that it has been done. So much better than any previous experiences of waster collection services.

No items, no refund no customer service.

An update on my review below.

Got a reply from Marks Electrical.
If only I could say the situation is resolved. Got partial refund on one item, but took ages for them to locate the other damaged item and still no refund after 1 month. I'm owed £1800 and Customer Services just keep saying it's going to be paid but it never is. Contacting customer services takes ages by phone. They never reply to emails. Now I need to try and make a court claim for my money.

If any thing goes wrong with this company you are in trouble.

I ordered Liebherr larder fridge and freezer on 24th June 2024.

The items were delivered on 9th July but the fridge was badly damaged and the freezer was not the item I intended to order.

Both items were taken back by the delivery drivers.

I phoned customer services and was told the fridge would be redelivered on 14th July and I would receive a refund for the freezer. I have received neither.

Customer services have been almost unresponsive to emails with just one message to say to wait 5-7 days for a refund, which has not been paid.

Queues for phone calls are over 10 mins. A phone call on 16th July revealed that the damaged fridge had not been registered back at the warehouse and was lost. I was promised a call back but received no call.

Today 17th July I phone and get the message that customer services is closed for the day.

In sum I have paid nearly £3200 in June and have received nothing. The level of customer service is appalling with 10 minutes queues for calls and no response to emails. The only response I can get from the WhatsApp chatbot is "Sorry I can't understand".

Truly awful experience.

Poor product but eventually replaced

This all came good in the end. Replacement delivered, though it took a bad review to get the issue resolved.

Bought a gate closer which failed within 9 months. Just made excuses about it being installed incorrectly (it was installed correctly in line with instructions; I'm a perfectionist). Eventually promised to send another one but never did.

Disregard for customers

Gaskell's provided a good mixed waste collection for my holiday let in Wales for 18 months then cancelled with 30 days notice just before the legislation changes in Wales requiring separated recycling. They evidently couldn't provide the required service,which would have been obvious a year ago but they never notified until the last moment. Left me scrabbling to find a collection service last minute. Never replied to any emails or phone calls. Total disregard for customer service.

Hire machine heavy, hard to manoeuvre and unsuited to domestic uses

Carpets cleaned ok but poor suction on the main machine meant I needed to use the hand tool to vacuum up moisture over the whole carpet. The main machine is also very heavy, unwieldy and impossible to manoeuvre in small rooms. The professional hire machine is poorly suited to domestic situations.

No issues with company, but soft unsupportive mattress.

No problems with the company experience, but the mattress is soft and unsupportive. Have had an Ergoflex on a spare bed for many years, which is firm. Current model is soft, squashy totally and totally unsuitable for me, or I'd imagine anyone else, with back or other musculoskeletal issues. Fortunately I only needed it temporarily while waiting for a high quality memory foam mattress.

A scam: lures you in by allowing you to edit but not download.

Appears to be free but once you have spent time editing a document, you can't download it or do anything with it without paying. The plans are ridiculously expensive too.

Decent pots. Crazy packaging.

Decent pots but the packaging is insane. 1.5 cubic metres of paper to protect 6 small pots. Plus the cardboard boxes. Somehow I've got to fit this paper into a small hole in the paper container in my local recycling centre. I'm sure the pots can't be delivered like this to garden centres wholesale. Takes about 2 hours to deal with the packaging.

Unfortunately this is the amount of packaging that is required to ensure our pots arrive intact. Being fragile ceramic they need a sufficient level of cushioning and protection to avoid damage in transit.

We have spent a lot of time testing and developing our packaging to ensure this is optimal, both from a protective but also an environmental perspective. Any less and the breakage rate increases significantly, resulting in more packaging to resend a new item to our customer and more fuel to deliver etc.

Please be assured our packaging is all made from recycled material and is fully recyclable. Paper cushioning is proven to have more protective qualities that bubble wrap and has less of an environmental impact, hence our decision to use paper rather than plastic. The way it is crimped also created pockets of air, so not as much paper is used as it may appear.

Terrible customer service

Ordered a one drawer filing cabinet and a two drawer one arrived. I sent it away, but Viking refused to send the correct one and expected me to pay again for the right one, and wait for the return process to complete before getting a refund.
