The flight and the service out were good but the return flight times were dreadful ... an hour late departing and arriving home at 0230 hrs is not good for an elderly traveller with a terminal illness and compounded by a 90 minute wait for luggage because three planes arrived at approximately the same time.
The Edinburgh - Madeira flight has long been prejudiced vs the Glasgow flight ... now more so. Time to think again !
The flight times may be outwith Jet2's control but the scheduling is not.

I have used Zest Car Rental for several years. On each occasion the process has been flawless, prompt and satisfying. There is a wide range of rental firms (on Madeira) and cars availabie with varied prices. You get what you pay for. May I sugest that, since the interior of Madeira is mountainous, you choose a car that can cope well.

I was eventually well looked after following hospitalisation abroad though there was a distinct lack of communication for the first 10 days.

I should like to be able to pre-order more than one sandwich per flight. As for the duty free alcohol ... insufficient choice to meet the demand.

Entry to Fastpark was straightforward. Despite staff being informed that I am registered 30% disabled (but not having a Blue Card), on return, my car was in plot D40 ... a distance from reception that I cannot walk following cancer treatment ! Fortunately, the Passanger Assistance person took to my car ... and he was breathless pushing the distance.

Navigating the online documents was not easy. Some information was not saved ... the exercise had to be repeated .

Prompt reply. Straightforward renewal process with an efficient agent.

I have used 'ZEST' car rental for several years now. Recommended by 'Which?', the 5* service is superb. I asked for an upgrade just before travelling and the change was accommodated smoothly by a helpful agent. I'll be back next year.

The return trip was all but flawless given that the ATC controls timings. The Captain kept us informed though I wish fellow passengers were more interested in the information. I liked his reference to 'Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls'. The cabin crew were polite, atttentive, helpful and unobtrusive. The cabin was clean and tidy. Next year's trip already booked.

Email and a telephone enquiry both answered within 10 minutes and dealt with.

The book arrived two days before the estimated delivery date.
