No competition really

If it’s good quality we’re and cider you want, get it from Hawkstone! I think I’m done with the old indecision when buying beers and ciders in the supermarket, Hawkstone is my go-to brand now.
I can’t help but give it 5 stars, however with the caveat - Bring back Hawkstone Black in cans!

Eye-opening coffee

I bought a bag of 'Stupidly Strong' Cornish coffee when i was last on holiday in Bude and loved it! So here i am ordering it online! Great price for really good, full body, rich, strong coffee like a kick by a horses hoof to start your day! beautifully packaged and presented, which i honestly wasn't expecting, made all the difference!

Worthy or the big leagues

Never had a problem with Hawkstone -except that one time when the cider was exploding! But in fairness that was handled amazingly at the time! I honestly love this brand, the beers and cider coming from this brewery are a refreshing alternative to the big ‘branded’/ established usuals, even down to the elegant, reimagined pint glasses, it is a welcome change.
4 stars from me, you’ll get the 5th one when ‘Hawkstone Black’ becomes available for ordering in cans again! 😉

Review of Tufferman

Great product but poor delivery

If you’re reading this, I want you to know that Tufferman’s shelving units are perfect, The correct size for what I needed was available and when they arrived they were easy to assemble, no bolts of complicated instructions, everything just slots together. The product is fit for purpose and provides a very practical solution.
HOWEVER, the problem is the delivery company ‘DX Deliveries’. They let the customers down and they let Tufferman down to the point that I may not consider buying a 2nd time and I definitely would not recommend. Thankfully Tufferman fully refunded the delivery charge in this instance and had great customer service, DX on the other hand did not have a clue. At one point even suggesting that my package was ‘lost’ and they would just have to “wait for it to turn up somewhere”. It was eventually delivered a week late by a drop and run delivery, I didn’t even see the van or the driver! He was gone! DX deliveries are ruining Tufferman’s business. I did not have a great customer experience.

The design has been revised to try to make it as easy to assemble as possible. It is great to hear you feel we have achieved this.
Although, I am sorry to hear you had some problems with the courier.
I can see that your delivery charge has been refunded in full due to the delivery date not being fulfilled by our couriers.
We do our utmost to ensure that your delivery arrives on the day that you'd requested, however like most companies we use 3rd party couriers and unfortunately the 'delivery stage' is not always in our direct control once your order has left our warehouse.

Marvellous Milk & More…

I really like the service Milk & More provide, their app is clear and easy to use with a good selection of produce to choose from. I like the ease of the payment system, just like buying anything else online and the delivery is always before 5am. I’d like to thank the person who’s up at those cold dark hours doing the rounds, but we never see them! They do a great job and provide a great service.

ADT poor customer service, under par equipment

I’m not impressed with ADT’s services. As a new customer we paid a large sum for their equipment and for it to be installed. This is a monitored service. Firstly the doorbell camera device would record everything; birds flying past & windy trees would trigger a clip to be recorded. But not 2 cars leaving our driveway. The clip upload rate created storage problems and then after a week or 2 of this it would record nothing else. An engineer from ADT said there was an updated doorbell with features to exclude said bushes. Someone came to install this. It worked for about a week and now does not work at all. It has disconnected from the WiFi. An easy fix you would think? Nope. ADT are the key holders and none of this is operable at customer level. So they’re sending out an engineer again. This time they are VERY busy and there are no service appointments available for over 4 weeks! Also this is a monitored system, Iget a notificationevery other day to remind me that my doorbell camera has been offline since the beginning of January. Not once have ADT contacted me to check the status is correct. Now they send out a letter saying that the subscription price is increasing!
I think I will cancel their services altogether.
Off the shelf tech is better than the equipment they have have supplied.

Booooom!

Go on gang!!! I do love a good firework show, I thought St Albans firework night was good, then we discovered the Firework champions events (Hatfield) and thought that was spectacular… Then, in August 2023 Illusion Fireworks upped the ante and completely changed the game!!
When your firework game is beat perfect and your display ‘toys’ are as powerful and varied as Illusion has in it’s arsenal, a ‘firework Display’ is a thing of the past, it’s a guaranteed Phenomenon!
We were spoiled with a 45 minute display in the summer and Idon’t mind publicly admitting that the emotion of the performance genuinely made me cry! It was beautiful and emotional and visually spectacular! November was everything it needed to be and packed an awesome punch! I honestly can’t wait to see what Illusion has in store next! And if my day job went to the wall, I’d love to join the pyro team!!

Review of Xplosive Events

Spectacularly Incredible!

We have attended 2 of these events now and I have to say that these are THE BEST shows I have ever watched! The airfield is a tremendous location allowing acres of space not only for the main event/ display but ample space for the funfair, food & catering, toilets and parking.
I have seen the other reviews complaining about parking and egress post event, but if you come expecting this then it doesn’t disappoint. Abingdon is not unique to this egress ‘phenomenon’, Hatfield & Knebworth even Glastonbury are the same!
Xplosive events put on a great show!

I was happy with the driver and the…

I was happy with the driver and the delivery service. I think the effectiveness of the app lets the business down. At 0930 on the day of delivery I still had no delivery slot information. This would be better if that 2 hour time slot was allocated and made available to the customer at least 12 hours prior to delivery. This would provide greater clarity and eliminate the uncertainty of when the delivery will be made. It would also allow for greater planning should the delivery be a gift or suchlike.

Cake in January? - Yes!

Oh my!
How about a January diet where you can eat cake?? - Seems like madness. Well not any more! The gorgeous little 2-bite-sized cake ‘Pearls’ are flavoursome, moist and calorie counted snacks to be snaffled absolutely guilt free with a cuppa! what an absolute joy they are!

Two bad experiences in one week!

The driver was over an hour late, I waited in, needing to go out based on my delivery slot. Ruined the afternoon i had planned with my family as a consequence. This is not the first bad DPD experience this week, earlier this week a driver failed to deliver (I was at home) he left a picture of a front door that wa not my own. Second attempted delivery was abandoned (I was at home) and package was just given to the local post office with no attempt to come to my door.

TERRIBLE

TERRIBLE! Both delivery days I was at home. Once the driver said he attempted delivery but left a picture of somewhere that wasNOT my front door. The second time, I was again at home but he just left the parcel at my local post office with no attempt to deliver to my house at all!

I'm hugely grateful to TSB

I'm hugely grateful that TSB have provided me with the loan I needed. Being in full-time employment in a job not affected by the pandemic and having an 'Excellent' credit score, my own bank deemed my application for the same as too much of a risk! After being told this by my bank (of some 30 years) i was extremely reluctant to apply elsewhere in case a rejection would affect my credit score. But the loan made sense to consolidate my previous debt so i took a chance and it has paid off. Thanks TSB.

Hi gear items are cheap for good reason

Bought a pair of Hi-Gear waterproof overtrousers couldn’t try them on in-store (Covid) got them home and the leg Zips caught on the material and broke. I find it such a shame that GO Outdoors has saddled itself with this brand. All Hi-gear items seem cheap and in poor quality to keep costs down. There are better brands of things available, ones that are tough, durable and last.

kit NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

I recommended Gear4Music to a colleague to buy 2 sets of their High adjustable lighting stand 145-322 because They seemed to have the equipment we needed for the job. The order arrived however 1 set was missing the T-bar. G4M said they would send a replacement. 2 months later it has still not arrived... In need of this setup, we ordered a 3rd set. It came complete but the lock off casings were cracked and unusable. The stands have been to 2 jobs now and are breaking in transit the leg braces on one have sheared off from their attachment point. This kit is NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.
G4M have not been helpful in any way to rectify the problems. We have paid for 3 sets and can only use 2 and one is failing fast!

Not great but not bad (enough to cancel)

Something has ‘changed’ in Musclefood, I’ve been a customer for almost two years and it’s clear there have been business differences that have fundamentally changed the ‘customer experience’. There are a few staples on the website that if they were changed, I’d consider ordering elsewhere. MF delivery is still a problem. The mystery snack boxes are also a let down when they used to be worth the money. Some orders I’m happy with, but it’s mostly disappointing.

Had a very professional technician arrive for the job, and did everything perfectly. He managed to remove my split glass safely and replace it all in just over an hour. Friendly, courteous and high job standards. Can not fault the service I received at all.

Losing faith...

MF has been heading downhill in my opinion over the last 12 months. They’re huge on commercialisation and their own lines of products but really poor at customer liaisons/ customer satisfaction and quality produce. It used to be the other way around. The produce was really good quality and value and so too was the almost ‘personal’ service you felt you were getting. This sadly is no longer the case, if convenience were not such a huge factor or for the lack of similar competition, I would’ve ditched MF long ago for a better supplier!
