They say 8 days to process an order is policy

So I put in an order for three candles. After three business days, I inquired why my order had not yet been even processed at the warehouse. On the fourth day, I talked to Marta in customer service and she said that the Yankee candle company policy is eight days to process an order before creating a shipping label! So I just wanted everyone to know they’re horrible company policy! My order was processed on the fourth day to be picked up for shipping. Buyer beware!

Unpleasant surprise

I was OK with the customer service and the candle products. However, on my most recent trip to the Flagship store, I had a disturbing experience. In the Christmas display area, there was a very small collection of religious creche figurines and related statues were in a tiny room off to the side. I almost walked right by it. When I went a little further into the Christmas display area, I turned a corner only to see a massive display of what I can only describe as demonic figurines and statues set up in a very large area. The display was jarring, dark and ugly. This was not the normal 'scary' Halloween display. It was in the Christmas area and it was horrid. I've been a customer for over 20 years. I won't be going back or ordering from them again.

THEY HAVE THE ABSOLUTE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EMPLOYESS IN STORE. THERE VERY SNIPPY AND RUDE. IF YOU ASK TO MANY QUESTIONS THEY COMPLETLY IGNORE YOU. THEY LAUGH ABOUT YOU WHILE YOUR SHOPING. THERE CANDLES ARE JUST AS BAD THE SCENT IS OFF AFTER THE FIRST TO TIMES OF BURNING IT. BECAUSE MY IN STORE EXPERIENCE WAS VERY HORRIFIC AND DISRESPECTFUL I DECIDED NOT TO PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY EVER AGAIN AND IM VERY SURE TO SPREAD THE WORD TO NOT HAVE ANY BUISNESS SALES WITH YANKEE CANDLE EVER AGAIN FROM MY SELF OR ANY ONE IN MY FAMILY FRIENDS OR ANY ONE ELSE I KNOW BEYOND THAT. Poor Service

Spent a fortune with this company annually.

Candles were alright enough. Placed a recent order that shipped with no notification or tracking. Arrives 9 days later when I am out of town. Candles sat outside in the heat and get the shipped email the day after they were delivered. Along with a sorry we canceled one of the items in your order.

Call customer support and tell them what happened and the rep just says thank you for your feedback.

Obviously, I was an afterthought to them, so now they are in my rear view.

I will be patronizing Goose Creek and Colonial going forward.

I was loyal to Yankee for many years along with friends and family I sent their way. Yankee was loyal to one thing, my dollars. They will not see anymore of me or the people I referred to them.

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. I order everything all the time and this company is literally operating in 2005.
I ordered candles directly from Yankee website and within seconds of ordering I contacted customer support to change my address. Apparently this company has a 10minute window to change an address. So by the time I spoke with someone it was too late to change the address. They assured me once I received a tracking number from FedEx that I would be able to change the address. Nope FedEx doesn’t do that with economy orders so Yankee you couldn’t effectively pass this one off to FedEx as their problem. Companies should not operate on a 10min window unless they’re scamming. Obviously more concerned about sales than they are customer experience. With all this I don’t even want a Yankee candle anymore if anything it’s a sign that I need to review Yankee ingredients and probably shouldn’t be inhaling them within my household.

The 2 candles i purchased ( large) one…

The 2 candles i purchased ( large) one for me and one for my daughter have never provided ANY scent when lit , we have tried different locations , adjusted burn times etc BUT nothing changed ! I spent new zealand 🇳🇿 $90 and this is extremely disappointing. The shop I purchased from won’t refund due to use and the yankee company complaint service on line won’t register my details as NZ doesn’t show up . So basically the candles are useless and have no idea if it was a bad batch or what 🤷‍♀️. But yeah how disappointing that so much money was spent on a below average product!!

The customer service at Yankee Candle…

The customer service at Yankee Candle has been given to a Third World country or countries! THEY ARE A TOTAL JOKE. The rules they make up every week are insane.. I qualify for a discount. But to get that discount, I have to send in an email, I pay my order and then Yankee candle will send the email back and give me a refund.
It used to be, on your first call you get credit for your discount and that was it. No emails back-and-forth no waste of time on my part. No wasted time on the company part.
But now this silly Third World country customer service as you doing these silly rules and I refuse to do it. I was told a supervisor would call back within 24 to 48 hours. Guess what? The sale that I’m applying for is over today. When the supervisor calls back, I’ll be outside of that sales envelope.
YOU CANNOT MAKE THIS UP PEOPLE I’M SURE THAT BIG WIGS AT YANKEE CANDLE ARE ENJOYING ALL THEIR MONEY THEY’RE MAKING WHILE THEY WATCH THEIR THIRD WORLD CUSTOMER SERVICE TRY AND HANDLE THE COMPANY! I’ve got around 100 large Yankee candles in my pantry right now. I’ve been a great fan of Yankee Canada for many years, and I’ve just had it. I cannot go through the grief anymore. Please come back to US and clean up these rules that the countries are making. I think the more work that they are doing send emails back-and-forth in their mind, makes them feel they’re doing more. YOU ARE NOT PEOPLE YOU’RE WASTING EVERYBODY’S TIME AND YOU KNOW IT.

Votives discontinued …

Extremely disappointed that corporate did away with votive candles. This is all we use and have bought multiple holders for them. They have lost our business due to that.

MERCHANDISE, CUSTOMERS SERVICE AND SHIPPING HAVE BECOME HORRIBLE

I have had TERRIBLE issues with merchandise AND "customer service" AND shipping with Yankee Candle Company. It is tragic that this company whose merchandise I have used for SO many years has changed their merchandise and their traditional business model. Recently, the big jar candles I purchased have burned VERY fast, without much scent, and with some strange changes to the color of the wax. I sent them a picture of the big blue jar candle that I purchased for the bathroom. The wax separated into a large plug of WHITE wax and a small section of blue. It looked bizarre. They sent me a small jar candle in a gesture of some sort but I ALSO had a problem with FedEx because the shipping was the cheapest, I think. I was notified it would arrive on one day, but it did not come. Instead, I was notified it would arrive the NEXT day, but when that day arrived, the FedEx driver LIED and said I wasn't home "or the business was closed." (There was no business. This is my personal apartment.) I tried to complain to FedEx about the driver because I was sitting just 2 feet away from the door and he never knocked. The online report also said that I had to be here to SIGN for it, but that was ALSO a lie, because no note was left, and when they came back the next day, the woman just left it by my door, as they always do. FedEx would not let me complain about the driver because the type of shipping was so cheap that the only person who could complain is the shipper Yankee Candle. So I sent another message TO YANKEE CANDLE on the Messenger thread telling them IN DETAIL what had happened, and the woman on the YANKEE CANDLE MESSENGER THREAD was too lazy to read the messages. She told me to call Fedex and complain to them, which I CLEARLY HAD JUST DONE AND TOLD HER ALL ABOUT IT. It was like a Chinese fire drill. That person could not be bothered to read the thread. When the candle finally arrived, it was packed oddly and there may have been some kind of waxy substance or grease on the outside of the glass because it slipped through my hands and fell to the floor and just came apart completely. The candle wick came out of the candle, and the candle came out of the shattered glass jar, but the wick was firmly affixed to the middle of the bottom of the jar. WHAT A MESS. A sharp shard was sticking up and it was dangerous so I threw away the whole mess after photographing it. I sent a photographs of the shattered candle to that Yankee Candle conversation thread on the MESSENGER platform. A few days later, yet another customer service rep from Yankee Candle came onto the thread, and RIGHT UNDERNEATH the photo of the candle that I had sent them, this new guy told me to send him a series of complicated photographs depicting a variety of things on the candle. OBVIOUSLY he did not look at the photo I had JUST sent them, nor did he read the thread EITHER. I might as well be talking to a blank wall. Clearly, the people working "customer service" are in some other country and their skill with the English language is MINIMAL, at best. Finally, I have had ENOUGH. I told this agent that I do not work for him and if he thought I would be keeping a collection of glass shards FOR DAYS, he was crazy. If he had read the thread and just looked at the photos, he would understand - or perhaps he would not. WHO KNOWS? I am furious at all the time they have wasted and I told him to TAKE A HIKE and leave me alone. I will never purchase anything from that company ever again, which is a SHAME because I have a gorgeous glass shade and matching plate for the large jar candles sitting in my living room and I love using it because it is so pretty. I know there is at least one other company that sells a similar jar candle. Perhaps I will try them out.

They Destroyed Themselves with GREED!

Everyone on the planet now knows that Yankee Candle has been corrupted and are cheating customers with subpar candles that have no scent or throw and charging a premium price for them. I've purchased and given $1000s of dollars of their candles over their earlier years, before the Greed set in and destroyed the company's sales and reputation a little over a decade ago. There are still unsuspecting people that buy them, but it isn't long before they are no longer repeat customers. This is how I received another one of their ripoff candles recently as a Xmas present. There isn't $4-$5 in materials now, almost no scent. It's a shame that such an iconic company who was put their and made who they are by their customer base has no integrity to continue that quality that made them successful and instead has chosen greed and to cheat their customers. They intentionally do so with a smile now, and people aren't smiling back any more, they're leaving for good. Another American Icon that has imploded on itself for poor management and work ethics. I want my money back!

Disappointed with my last purchase

Always been pleased with my Yankee Candles but the last few I have purchased have left me very disappointed and looking at other options going forward. The coconut beach one....well you couldn't even smell it and they are not coming in cheap at £28 a pop!!

Quality of Yankee Candle missing

I received a expensive Yankee candle for Christmas!
I have noticed after 30-45 min it goes out because of wax covering the wick!
Then useless…
I read U can Put folded aluminum foil around top but leave air for candle to breathe.
(Which takes the fun of the candle.)
Years ago candles did not do this.
*Yankee U Need to up your gain or loose all your business.*
Ridiculous & disgusting .

This company charges £28 for one of their candles that does NOT burn down there is barely a flame so you contact so called customer service and they do absolutely nothing apart from use an excuse of without a photo they can’t do anything so not only will they do nothing about their faulty goods they even call their customers liars you are better buying a candle that is a lot cheaper they burn down like they should, this company is an absolute disgrace faulty goods , extortionate prices and absolute zero customer service

Customer service is a mess...

Boy howdy, if I could give zero, I would. I made a purchase of 5 candles on January 5th, 2025 during their $10 3-wick candle sale. I purchased all 5 in my bag. I not only received no confirmation email, no order number, the order does not show under my YC account, BUT THE PAYMENT WENT THROUGH. I've tried contacting them with proof of the Paypal & my bank statement, both confirming the pending transaction. Today (8th), I received a marketing email for- guess what- "You found something special!" as the headline, and inside were candles i had "recently viewed"- IT WAS THE CANDLES I HAD PURCHASED. Why would I receive marketing email for something that I 100% purchased??? I contacted them again, with zero luck of anyone getting back. This is nuts.

UPDATES:
Jan 9- Got yet another email telling me to purchase the items i "viewed." I feel like i'm being gaslit at this point. Even my browser history shows pages of signing in to my account, viewing products, my bag, paypal, and order confirmation. And yet, I STILL get emails saying I should purchase the ones I viewed. Someone needs to reply back somewhere, this is getting ridiculous. All I want are the candles I purchased and be done with it.

Jan 14- Finally received a message via facebook messenger after trying to connect there almost a week ago (Jan 8.) Turns out my order never went through, they let me know they voided my paypal payment, and received... a 20% off coupon for the trouble 😑 what a mess...

I ordered a gift card a couple of weeks…

I ordered a gift card a couple of weeks before Christmas. Tracking by fedex was not available until one day before Christmas and delivery was scheduled one day after Christmas. That was too late and nonetheless card is useless for me. It was suppose to be a Christmas Present for my daughter in law. T4y to get a refund and return card but they have a no r3turn policy for gift cards. I was robbed. Never will I do business with Yankee Candle. Buyer beware

ZERO STARS

If I was able to give zero, I would! I placed an order directly wit Yankee Candles, it shipped 10 days after ordering. I called, chatted and emailed numerous times. Finally I spoke with a representative who said a refund would be issued. Well guess what, that charged me and shipped the order when I told them no one would be there to receive, as leaving for holiday

Special offer not received and no refund

Special offer, payment made. Half of the order recieved. Nobody able to amend my order, no refund and no response to my emails. Call back in 15 minutes when my colleague is off thier break is a regular phrase I have recieved on different days.
Avoid avoid avoid.
