Good lessons but terrible business model
I actually really like Pers lessons and think the approach he teaches is useful. But unfortunately I have to leave an honest review as their business model and customer service is terrible. First they say with the free Sing with Freedom course you get a free month in the singing zone course if you sign up before a deadline. But soon you find you get no free month and actually the four week freedom course is the "free month". Deceptive. Then I was unwell with pneumonia for a month and couldn't sing so I asked to put my membership on hold. I had already purchased 3 months and the fee $67usd had just gone out for month 4 the day I emailed. They agree to refund me and cancel subscription until I could catch up in a month time, which I was grateful for. But then I logged in and could not access ANY of the months 1-3 I had paid for! So that was money down the drain. In short, they are just looking to make money and finding ways to string things out for long periods of time. It's a shame because I like Per and think he is an inspiring teacher but there is a lot of manipulation in the business and marketing side, which is really disappointing.
They took away the course I already paid for
On April 3, 2020, I paid $97 for The Singing Zone course. Back then, there were no monthly fees. When I logged back in Sept 2024, I no longer had access. I was told I had to become a member for $67/month in order to access the course I had ALREADY paid for.
I have NEVER encountered anything like…
I have NEVER encountered anything like this in my life and I don't mean that in a good way. This Pers guy has a ego only to be matched, no doubt, by his bank balance. The sales hype is unbelievably in your face. The whole sales thing is designed to draw you in. Not me. I'm out. What a waste of $7 for an hour of my life I will never get back.
Very dissatisfied with their customer service
While I appreciate the Sing With Freedom program, I clearly remember having declined their offer to sign up for the subscription, but I was still charged. They are pretty dishonest and didn’t care about giving me a refund despite asking them many times. So if you purchase their programs you should send them an email telling them to cancel the subscription even if you didn’t sign up for it. Just my advice. The course is pretty good other than that, but I’m still unsatisfied with their customer service.

If you haven't yet had the opportunity to experience Per Bristow's breakthrough "Kinesthetic Awareness" and "Muscle Isolation" training that singers all over the world have called "revolutionary"...
...then join this special 70-min deep-dive session from the comfort of your own home for only $7!
Experience for yourself the effective strategies to, for example...
...overcome a voice problem, release hidden tension, effectively develop strength, endurance, range, resonance, and much much more... "
I thought ok it's only $7 but it's still irritating to pay for what turns out to be an advertorial telling you what you expected to learn for your $7 is available on another course for $147.
Save $7 and scroll past Per Bristow's bullsh*t
complete rip-off - avoid these arrogant people like the plague
Beware these people - they are are only interested in your money. I signed up for a free trial in which you give credit card details - I never accessed the course but unknown to me I had given them permission to charge my card $67/mth for a monthly subscription - when I realised what was happening they had already charged me over $1100. So I cancelled my subscription and contacted them asking if there was something we could work out - they sent me a curt and completely unsympathetic reply telling me it was my "own responsibility to know that the subscription was running" - I replied there had been a "genuine misunderstanding" and could they extend my access without further payments so I could at least access what I had paid for - their reply was: "There is no misunderstanding on our side. Our system performed as expected." They refused to even discuss how we might move forward amicably. Their message was basically "go away and leave us alone - we don't care how you feel." What an appalling way to treat their customer base.
Con artist
I commented on one of the Facebook ads. I then got a private message from the company telling me in a very rude way that I was embarrassing, knew nothing about singing etc etc. I guess they didn’t read my profile informing about my master degree in opera…
They ad itself is extremely false marketing claiming that you will get something for free but then also force you to sign up for the monthly membership… Laughable!
My experience with teachers is that you should never trust someone that can’t show what they are teaching. I’ve never seen or heard any good singing from that man.
Per Bristow transformed my voice
Per Bristow transformed my voice, and made me more confident. I went through the entire course and then bought the CDs, which I have used periodically, especially when I have a "gig" coming up.
I joined the Singing Zone 15 months ago…
I joined the Singing Zone 15 months ago after having lost my voice for months due to straining to keep teaching through a sore throat. Per, through his program, teaches you to use your voice properly. Each video builds on the last. The ideal way of using this program successfully is taught in the initial 4 week Singing videos. Keep repeating that stage until you've got it right before moving to the next. It takes time to strengthen your voice and to unlearn bad habits. My singing voice sounds so much better. So much better and stronger that I am preparing to turn professional. Yes, I agree you do need 1:1 voice training too, at some point, to get feedback and to learn particular songs well. A couple of times I was logged out but I emailed support and got back in within the day (allowing for time differences). So, if you are willing to put in the work and stay the course, if you have a busy schedule so can only do the training when it suits you and if you want to sing better and learn to protect your voice into the future, I would highly recommend this course.
Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever! Very rude and dismissive. Buyer beware!
I am very hapy with The Singing Zone
I am very hapy with Per as a coach. Have improved a lot thanks to his Sing with freedom - program.
I purchased a 4 week programm for over…
I purchased a 4 week programm for over 140€ more than 2 weeks ago due to an instagram-ad. Until now I have neither received any material nor an explanation. 2 emails to their customer support went unanswered.
Terrible and dismissive customer service
After reading these reviews, I am now actually grateful that I never purchased the program due to the pre-sales attitude of the company. I came across a facebook ad for the singing zone, and was interested but not ready yet. The price was $147 which was somewhat steep for my budget at the time. A week later searched google for the company and came across a 30% promo code. I was excited and attempted to use it. But it was invalid. So I went to their facebook page and messaged them asking for help. Their response was extremely curt, dismissive and arrogant. They claimed the code had expired and that google was displaying that page erroneously (and implied I should have known that) and that I should be grateful the program is as cheap as it is. We went back and forth a few times and it was terrible. I returned to the page where I found the 30% code and it was deleted. I had to demand an apology and got a curt "sorry" back. Fast forward another week and I came across ANOTHER Facebook ad. When I clicked on this one there was a 20% coupon code - must be active right? Since it was being promoted on an active Facebook ad? NOPE. That was also invalid. I messaged them again with screenshots and got nothing back. NO apologies, no explanations, nothing. So I guess I dodged a bullet. Glad I did not order!
Per has a wonderful way of making one…
Per has a wonderful way of making one more aware of the anatomy behind singing, which has been really helpful for me. You will get a good introduction for free on the website - yes, after posting your e-mail, but if that doesn't appeal to you, you can always unsubscribe from his emails - like all other online courses that flow around. Thank you, Per! :)
Wonderful training
Someone had posted a link to this site as if it would be a reflection of Per's business/coaching. How silly. I am a member and people are posting about their wonderful progress from Per's fantastic program inside the facebook group daily. (There are thousands of members.) I look through these "reviews" and funny enough there's not a single review from a person who has actually done the training. People are posting about an event. Well, I haven't been to one, but attendees are clearly delighted judging by what they are posting on social media. (They obviously don't post here.) Then again, if you have a concert or do an event there is likely going to be someone who doesn't like it. Congratulations to the one who succeeds at satisfying 100% of an audience at an event. I doubt any star does that all the time.
I was one of the many disappointed…
I was one of the many disappointed people in the workshop in Berlin...they won`t appear in the videos of course, but it was such a waste of money and time. As a friend who knows him well told me, `He just wants to make money`, and he spends half of the event selling the next course where he promises to deliver what he is not delivering in the present course!!!, hard to believe that some people still buy it. I asked for my money back and they refuse to do it. I am a professional musician and I believe this course can help some amateur singers, but it`s way far from providing serious tools to sing or to work on an emotional level as he sells it. The power of marketing is certainly admirable, and he has great charisma, and probably skills to help people, but not in a 200 people workshop where he fills the program talking about his sun or ex-wife, plus a lot of selling. If you need to wrap a course in a marketing technic of `normal price 1999, now for just 499`it`s because it`s not worth the real price. I have no idea about the internet course, but the 2 days workshop it`really a scam... especially when you feel that and they don`t refund your money. I will try to find more places to share my experience to push them to be less ambitious and to provide real tools to every single person that attends their workshops. I also heard from people making comments that the free bird ticket at the end was the same price that the later price ticket....as always with Per everything is about marketing and selling...he should give a marketing workshop only...he is really good at it...amazing packaging but not much content.
"3 free videos" - yeah, right
So you have to enter your email in the site to get access to these free videos. Protip, use a disposable email so you don't get slapped with endless spam and get your email sold off. In these videos they managed to pad out what you can learn from any therapist in the world in 5 minutes into 50 minutes of videos. To top it off, you click on the third and find out it's "coming soon". Yikes.
Save yourself a lot of time by googling parasympathetic breathing. I will save you even more time by telling you you literally only have to breath in for a shorter time than the amount of time it takes you to exhale. Practice this often and you will engage a relaxed state in your body, bonus points if you can remember to use it when you're really stressed to calm yourself down. There, I saved you 50 mins and a lot of money that these cons will likely expect you to spend to learn more about their "totally-secret-we're-definitely-not-lying" techniques.
This is no rating, just a professional advice
I just give 3 stars, because unfortunately it is not possible to leave any comment without rating. First of all I have no experience of all with the Singing Zone: But as a professional singer I just want to let all of you know: it is IMPOSSIBLE to learn singing "online" neither via a book. There are no secrets or tricks about singing. Learning how to manage your breath, your voice needs physical control and a deep will which is unable to get via internet. I don't feel sorry for the dreamers who are losing money this way. It might help - in another way - on their path do get a great singer. Find YOUR teacher, stay fond of singing in every second and learn...
I paid $97 and did not get all of the content advertised.
I paid $97. On the screen it said it included 4 downloadable lessons (DVDs wers $30 extra) and workbooks for the 4 lessons ( a $47 value); I printed up 23 pages. Audio interviews included. Then "included" changed to "free". These were Q and A vault ($97 value), Article Library ($47 value), Ear Training ($97 value), Rhythm Training ($97 value), Sight Reading and Music Theory (($97 value). Facebook group ($67 value). I was able to access the 4 lessons and "included" audio interviews, but when I went to access the "free" content I was told that I had to join the Facbook group. I was asked to put in my credit card again to retrieve my "free" month, after that it is $67 A MONTH. Of course you can cancel when you want. Too bad I didn't get the the marketing technique "included" versus "free". The 4 lessons totaled 3 hours and 21 minutes. So with the 23 pages of workbook (a $47 value!), that's what I got for $97. The content was interesting.
