Disgusting warranty, LOW quality product
Update, August, Skagen decieded they would repair the fallen out glass for free as we found the glass that had fallen out. I am still not impressed with their attitude but grateful they saw the sense in repairing my wifes watch under warranty.
Original review:
Disgusting warranty, 18 month old ladies watch, hardly warn and certainly no heavy duty work, it was a dress watch only for my wife.
The glass just popped out. SKAGEN said the warranty didn't cover the glass !!!! They wanted £65 to replace it. We found the old glass, there is NO damage signs on the case or glass.
As a result of this, I am returning my unworn Slaken watch to the shop for a refund and Skagen will loose more than 2 customers from today. To top it all, it's bought a man's Skagen watch in 2012 and used it only as a going out in the evening watch, hardly worn as I prefer my TAG Heuer watch, it suddenly stopped working, hence we bought 2 new ones recently.
DON'T BUY A SKAGEN WATCH
DON'T BUY A SKAGEN WATCH! Looks good but doesn't work. I bought one for £81 on 30/03/24. It went wrong and I sent it for repair on 19/3/25 as they refused to give money back. Now it's gone wrong again at 13/06/25 and they still refuse to give money back again. What is the use of an unreliable watch?!!
Wasted a couple of hundred dollars
The skagen watch I own had a pretty bad battery life and at about a year and a half it just stopped working all together. It is at least twice as thick as all others and with that comes twice as heavy. To be able to attempt to have it last almost 1 day (about 10 hours) no use at night. Loaded with fancy android interface and proprietary apps that are useless because the battery life it's not long enough to even configure it, much less use any of them.
To be able to stretch the battery I configured the options to display always off and airplane mode on to stop all wireless communications with my phone.
One again the watch is a useless gadget because the poor battery life and lack of design quality.
Great watch and great value.
I bought my Skagen watch about 4years ago from H Samuel sale. Best watch I've ever bought. Great looking and great value. No problems at all, just battery change. Would definitely buy Skagen again.
Avoid this brand
Avoid this brand! It's a waste of money! I received a broken watch, contacted customer service asking for guidance on how to return as the process is not clear on the website, got no response TWICE and now have been told the 30 days for returns have passed. Terrible customer service!! I should have read the reviews! Do not buy with them!!
Dreadful company - AVOID!
Watches made so you can't change the battery yourself without risk of breaking the cover glass. Repairers charge a lot to change and don't guarantee not to break the glass. So had a go myself, broke glass so had to send it off to UK Skagen repairs. They have had it since mid-December last year and keep making excuses why they haven't yet fixed it.....dreadful company - AVOID!
Refund ongoing
Returned a watch due to it not working when it arrived.
Being lenient due to Christmas but still waiting for a refund.
Think I'll end up going to small claims court to get my money back.
Definitely would not use again or recommend.
Skagen! Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever! Brought my wife an engraved watch for our wedding anniversary. Within 2 weeks the watch just stopped working. Clearly the battery had stopped. I wrote repeated emails to Skagen customer services and was simply ignored. Do not buy from them. If something go's wrong they will not help in any way!
Terrible watch quality and customer service
I've purchased a few watches from them but my last purchase, costing £149 arrived not working, presumably a flat battery. I tried emailing them several times with no response. I decided to replace the battery myself and opened the case successfully. But when removing the plastic cover inside to access the battery, the watch movement became dislodged which resulted in the hands coming off the spindle.
The quality is awful inside and it's the first time I’ve had to open one. It's shocking that they charge so much for something of poor quality. I will not be purchasing from Skagen again.
Avoid Skagen
I used to like Skagen but my most recent experience with customer service and delivery is just pathetic. I will never buy from them again, if you are smart look somewhere else for a real nice watch and honest service.

I bought my Skagen watch at the Chicago airport shop nearly 20 years ago. Its smart design and ‘flat’ face appearance drew me to it and I’ve enjoyed wearing it ever since. After all that time, the leather strap wore thin on the lug ends and had to be replaced, and I found an identical strap replacement on Amazon. Not cheap but the watch is worth it.. But in all this time I haven’t even had to change the battery. Not one moment of regret in purchasing this watch. It’s great!
terrible watch product
Worst watch ever had. Replaced twice, repaired twice.
Good looking watch, but internal mechanism is junk &
should be trashed. Customer service poorly prepared
to offer acceptable solutions. Quality unacceptable.

After 12 years of good service my watch kept stopping despite a new battery .Sent E mail to Service department and not even the courtesy of a reply .
Poor
Poor. Took ages for watch to be delivered. Badly packed. Not set to the right time. Loose in box. No acknowledgement or receipt included and no instructions. I can’t wear it because can’t work out how to adjust the strap. Seems to have been made for someone with a huge wrist. Nightmare strap adjustment process. Has now stopped. Have had it tested. Battery is fine but the watch is defective. Needs a new movement. I have lost receipt. I would never buy another Skagen watch.

I have several pieces of Skagen jewellery and will highly recommend their products. Super quality and design and no allergy issues.

This company sent me a watch with a flat battery! No one bothered to check the watch before dispatching! I contacted customer service via email! No reply whatsoever! I replaced the battery at a cost to myself. And now the watch isn’t waterproof any longer because that would have cost an extra £30.00 on top of the £ 7.00 I paid for the battery. I will never again purchase a Skagen or from this company group
Skagen watches are fake.
I bought a Skagen watch at Phenix Jewellery in Perth sometime around June 2017 at a special price of about $200. Approximately six months later, the watch stopped and I had to return it for repair. This has happened three more times including in the past five months. I am tossing the item into a bin. It is disappointing that such a seemingly beautiful watch is effectively dysfunctional. Thank God I have kept my Lorus watch bought for me by my ex wife back in 2007 for under $100 New Zealand. I have only ever changed its batteries and never had it repaired, even as I have swam with it in the ocean countless times. Skagen watches are deceptive. They are not worth their looks. It is all fake and heartaches. Stay way away from them.
Don't waste your time
I bought the chronograph watch from an outlet because I liked it's slim no fuss black design and sub second hand. Two years and three ( £20 fitted ) batteries later, it's mechanism has completely packed up.
Shame really as the internal quality is junk.
Avoid skagen/Fossil
Bought a watch from Skagen website. Order id: SKGB00132906 sent me a used or probably a display item from Fossil. No Plastic packaging, clearly from watch strap you can tell it's been used. Now extra hassel of returning this item. Pathetic service!! What a taste of time and energy.
Please avoid!
