Terrible

I wasn't sure what to expect having read these reviews. Sadly I had the same experience. The baby chicken we had didn't even get cooked. The smell of the meat when it came out of the packet made sure of that, it went straight in the bin!

Really bad smell

Really bad smell. I always check best before dates and always get meat with a 5 day expiry. Bad quality meat. About 10 times I am binning your meat and another dinner is ruined

Blood in meat

I bought a pack of chicken wings of this brand from Lidl. I ended up throwing the whole pack in the bin as the wings were so bloody. In general I noticed a big drop in quality ever since Lidl switched to this brand.

yuck!! rotten smelly chicken thighs

Second time purchasing this, and not sure why they pack nasty foul smelling chicken that comes once their pack is opened. Am glad am not alone as other reviews state, and am not sure whether it is the meat or the packaging environment that lets smelling bacteria grow inside the package. The first time I gave them the benefit of doubt, thinking I kept a bit too long though I opened 2 days after purchase and it still had 3 days from BB date. Foul smell means bacteria, and definitely not healthy and dishworthy, so I had no option other than to throw out. This company with such a poor quality control should not be allowed to trade and may be the halal tag is keep them afloat and trading as they are suppliers to major supermarkets including Aldi.

Never again.

This was my first and last experience buying this product from Morrisons. The beef mince meat was excessively chewy and contained bits of artery tissue, making it unappetising. I do not recommend this product and will be sourcing my halal meat from a trusted butcher in the future.

Health hazard

The first time I bought Shazans curry cut chicken from Asda, it had a rotten smell. I ended up discarding it to avoid the hassle of returning it. I assumed it was just a bad batch and gave them another chance, but the same thing happened again—the chicken smelled off. That’s when I decided I would never buy their products again.

Fast forward almost four years, and the Tesco Extra near me in Woolwich switched their in-store halal counter vendor to Shazans. I used to buy meat regularly from the previous vendor without any complaints. Unaware of my past experience with Shazans, my wife picked up a pack of diced lamb, and as soon as she opened it at home, the stench was so bad it made her feel nauseous.

I took the pack back to Tesco, and even the customer service staff couldn’t bear the smell once it was opened. I did get a refund, but it makes me wonder how Shazans is still in business in the UK with such poor quality. Are the food safety authorities even doing their job properly?

Shazans Peri Peri Chicken Portions

Shazans marinated chicken bought as it was discounted and thought I’d try first time. This was worst quality chicken I’ve even seen. Full of feathers disguised by the marinade, such laziness for a product marketed for convenience. I spent time try to remove them. Also the chicken is full of water and the weight drops a lot when cooked, the taste is bad, really no taste and texture is rubbery. Clearly this is a company not caring about quality but only cost and as others have said not everything is halal, which is deceiving. Even when heavily discounted I won’t be buying again as quality is very poor.

Tesco Beckton - Gallions Reach

The company now supplies the halal range in Tesco Gallions Reach-Beckton. They have changed the burgers and these do not taste good as they puff up when cooked. Having approached their rep in store to provide this feedback, she stated that the company will not listen to the feedback and it was not her job to pass on such comments. Very disappointed with the service, and may not purchase from them again.

Purchased shazaans halal chicken from…

Purchased shazaans halal chicken from morrisons halal counter , ready marinated, ive bought this a few times and every time its been of very poor quality, they marinade and sell all bruised pieces of chicken and because they marinade it they think its ok to disguise the poor quality for a quick profit.
The first time i purchased this product it was bruised but i gave them the benefit of doubt and second time it happened again and after some time i was in morrisons and thought il get it again not thinking about the poor quality previously and again it was all bruised very off putting and not edible and it does have a odd taste and off putting smell.

Liar, careless & dishonest

This company is claimed that they sell halal meat & chicken. This is Lie not true. Most of their products are not Halal because it's already stunned before slaughter. The only Halal products are the one marked ( Shazans selected) or with yellow label HMC.
I tried to get further details and contacted their CS. The response was super stupid as advise me to go to Morrisons Stratford branch, am I right Teresa?????

Made me feel sick and made my cats sick…

Made me feel sick and made my cats sick too..
Paid for a whole chicken and cooked it..
The skin had tasted like petrol and caused me to be sick for 3 days so was my cats.
I thought halal means tayib and natural too but clearly shazans are not authentic genuine.
They clearly allow harsh chemicals in the chicken, vaccines, antibiotics and gmo food.

Probably not even free range,
Shazans will go to jahanam for this

Guys if u want pure halal food just buy from organically reared halal food places like halal origins or healthy halal do ya research

Or u can raise ur own livestock..
Halal also means to be kind to animals and no chemicals allowed like kosher
