NetSpot is a professional multiplatform app for Wi-Fi network planning, wireless site surveys, Wi-Fi analysis, and troubleshooting. Best in its class for over 10 years. No need to be a network expert to improve your home or office Wi-Fi today! All you need is your MacBook running macOS 10.12+ or any laptop with Windows 7/8/10/11 on board and NetSpot which works over any 802.11 network. When working on a Wi-Fi network that will provide an optimal coverage, you'll need a solid research and understanding the radio frequency behavior at the spot. The effective way to obtain this information is a wireless site survey. It will reveal areas of channel interference and dead zones, and will help you tremendously to build a solid network. The main goal of a WIFI site survey is determining the feasibility of implementing a wireless network in a specific area and finding the best spots for access points and other equipment like cables and antennas. With the help of site survey you will know what type of equipment to get and where to install it.

I found the NetSpot app, running on my Android phone, to be easy to use and very informative. I like the way the data is presented, text for most and graphs for some. The app has been invaluable in setting up a wifi mesh system in my home. It has shown me where radio power adjustments were needed, where signal strength overlaps exist and which devices were getting the best signal from which mesh point. And the capability it provides of generating Heat Maps, using imported floor layouts from external files, is a real asset.

The product itself is great, but what’s really amazing is the support team. Once I had an issue, they helped right away: professionally and with a quick turnaround.

I've been using NetSpot for a few months now, and it has become an essential part of my network troubleshooting toolkit. Whether you're a home user trying to improve your Wi-Fi coverage or an IT professional managing complex wireless environments, NetSpot delivers exactly what you need.
What I love most is the ease of use—the interface is intuitive, and getting started with a heatmap survey is straightforward. The visualizations are clear and actionable, making it easy to identify dead zones, overlapping channels, and interference issues.
The real strength lies in its detailed reporting and flexibility. I was able to optimize my router placement and channel settings using the insights from NetSpot, which significantly improved the overall network speed and stability.
Also worth noting is the support team—quick to respond and genuinely helpful when I had a licensing question.

I've been using NetSpot for a while now, and I love the app. The app works extremely well and has saved me tons of time troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks. I also used it to design a Wi-Fi deployment before placing the access points.
Their customer support is superb. They are friendly, quick to respond, and very helpful. It's obvious they care about their users, which you don't find everywhere.
I'd definitely recommend NetSpot to anyone needing a reliable and easy to use tool for improving their Wi-Fi. Great job to the team behind this essential app.

I had some special needs on the way we use Enterprise license codes and the team helped get setup exactly what I needed.

You buy the product version, they perform an automatic update and the product simply stops working — then they try to sell you a newer version!! Absurd! You even try to download your previous version from the website and they don’t make it available! STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT! TOTAL SCAM.

They added yet another router description to their database literally overnight. The app is designed to pick up those changes automatically.
Great product and follow-up support. Updates are timely and well worth updating.
Great software for mapping out WiFi strength and checking what is around the area. Purchased lifetime updates years ago and they have been prompt at updating the license for the next version when it comes out, just need to send them an email!
(If it automatically updated would have given 5 stars)
Really good app for wifi reporting
Good customer support (quick and useful answer by mail).

Liked:
Planning:
A wide selection of wall materials
Windows, doors, and shelves
A large selection of access points (almost all well-known vendors and all models, including the latest Wi-Fi 7 models)
Survey:
Availability of active scanning via Iperf3 (only one adapter is needed, as passive and active scans are performed alternately in stop-and-go mode)
Ability to generate reports in PDF
Disliked:
Planning:
Plan view: After zooming in, there is no scrolling left-right or up-down; to move to another part of the plan, you need to zoom out and then zoom in at the desired location
It is not possible to highlight a specific area of interest on the plan. In particular, an automatic placement function for access points to cover this area would be useful.
Wall and shelf materials: When switching materials, the selected color is not retained (e.g., if I draw brick in red, concrete in gray, and drywall in yellow, I want these colors to remain when switching between materials; however, the last used color stays instead)
It is not possible to set the ceiling height and the mounting height of the access point
For access points with external antennas, there should be an option to select and position these antennas, but this feature is missing
Survey:
No non-stop scanning
Ran into a snag with licensing and support resolved super quick. Love the product and it has been invaluable to me.
Customer Service worked with me when I was having issues updating to the latest release of the Professional Version. I had made the mistake of not understanding that upgrading to the latest version of Professional was not free. Instead of making things difficult for me, they offered me an upgrade to the Enterprise version for no additional money. This allowed for free future upgrades. I couldn't be happier. Thanks so much for your help!
Surprisingly quick reply to my pre-sales question. Very thorough reply.
This isn't related to my support experience, but feedback for Netspot. Your website wasn't specific enough for me to understand the Home version, so I sent in a question. What I learned was that the $60 home version is probably too light for my needs. The next version is Pro for $200. There's no way I would pay $200 for a one-time use as a non-professional. I think you need to beef up the Home version.
