Scam. Do Not Use.

I received a quote and decided to go ahead. On the day the work was due to commence the quote DOUBLED!! As I couldnt afford this new price I had to cancel. Dreamroof said they would refund my deposit. However after two months of chasing, the managing director (Steve Gunnell) emailed me to say I would not be receiving my deposit back. No work was carried out at my property. The only reason I cancelled was because they mis-quoted me by an additional 100%!! This was not my error.

Steve Gunnell, Foamroof Ltd, Dreamroof Ltd. DONT!

Do not give money to this man, he is a con artist. He took a deposit for work never done and refused to give the money back. I started a civil claim against him but he entered liquidation in March 2023. He has done this before with his previous company Dreamroof, where he wound up the company with three outstanding county court judgements against him, unpaid of course. In the latter days of Foamroof his staff were turning up at previous damaged customers properties pretending to be another company that would fix the problems caused by Foamroof.
Do not deal with this man or any company he sets up.

DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE - As Jane Archer has said there is a further scam where they have all your information and pretend to be another company, Adam visits and he even introduced himself as Adam from Foam Roof and then corrected himself, he is not a surveyor and rolls out the scam. The website is now down so it looks like they are relaunching as another company. DO NOT USE

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! You are correct Caroline they are the same company as Dreamroof. We received a telephone call last week from a lady who said she was from The Energy Advise Centre who's telephone number was WITHHELD. She said we had been identified as having had our roof sprayed with spray foam. She said we should have an inspection and that they would send someone called Adam from a company called EcoStar. She made an appointment there and then. I asked her some questions and for her telephone number in case I needed to change the appointment but she said it would be better to speak with Adam as he was an expert and that he would call me, which he did the next day. He came yesterday afternoon (6th February 2023) and delivered very bad news in that the spray foam would need to be removed as it was of the closed type rendering our house un-mortgagable and unsaleable. (We were already aware of this serious problem through the media and newspaper). When asked what the removal cost would be he said he couldn't say but it could be tens of thousands of pounds. He quoted a ball park cost for scaffolding as being around £4,000 and gave a story about it having to come from China. When my husband challenged him and said we could supply our own Scaffolding company as he knew a very reputable one, he said that they use their own and probably wouldn't allow that. At this point he tried to ring someone but did not speak to anyone. He said he would have to come back again as he needed to take some photographs of the outside of our property in daylight as it was dark by now but did not make a further appointment. He neither offered or gave any identification for himself or the company that he represented. Are EcoStar and Foamroof Limited one of the same company? or, are they working in cahoots to further relieve customers of large amounts of money knowing that spray foaming residential properties is an issue and will eventually collapse?. To say that we are highly suspicious is an understatement. We would like to know how the lady who made the initial contact obtained our telephone number and knew we had had our roof sprayed. - THIS STINKS! If any one has had a similar experience or any information, please could you respond to my message.

Is this company still in business

Is this company still in business? Following paying initial deposit I was advised not to proceed by numerous surveyors and estate agents. The contract was cancelled within the specified time for return of deposit but, I have you to receive any repayment under the terms of the contract despite numerous e-mails and 'phone calls.

WARNING - DO NOT USE!!!!

DO NOT USE!
This is the same company that traded under the name Dreamroof. DO NOT USE THEM! We had spray foam installed in 2016 by Dreamroof.
Dreamroof Ltd was then dissolved in 2019 and this company has been started with exactly the same logo 😡
I have recently been contacted for a free no obligation inspection, following the issues that people have been having with the roof not being able to breathe and the wood rotting as a result. They advised that I did indeed have the incorrect foam used on my roof spray and that, as a result, I would not be able to sell my property in the future without having my roof removed for them to access and remove the foam.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR ANY OTHER SPRAY FOAM COMPANIES!

Overall I am happy with the work done

Overall I am happy with the work done. First impressions were good from the surveyor’s home visit and assurances given made my expectations high. However the process wasn’t completely smooth. There were some delays and change of dates for completion of the job. The young men who made up the team were extremely polite, courteous and proficient. They left the area clean and tidy. There were some miscommunication with the details of the installation and the work took longer to complete. There were also issues with poor fitting of the velux window by a third party(not a regular employee of the company). My concerns were listened to and the problem corrected to a high standard. My contact over the phone to Grace or any of the office team were always dealt with courteously. I felt listened to.

Hard working installation crew, polite and friendly who did a good job

We had x 2 quotes from different companies, but were unhappy with the first, as the surveyor wasn’t able to answer specific questions, and since we had a new roof with breathable lining stated it would be cheaper to apply direct to that lining.
Foam roof have a cardboard insert that goes between the eaves, so the expanding foam does not mould to the shape of the tile above, and was cheaper than the 1st quote. The 3 guys didn’t arrive with the card nor had the paperwork, which was due to the boss being on holiday, but they rectified that quickly, and completed the job in 5 hrs. They cleared away leaving no mess. The floored roof space is much warmer, we’ve not yet turned the heating on so cant comment if the house is warmer as advertised, allowing us to have the heating on for a shorter period of time.
As a guide my roof space is 40Sq/Ft both initial quotes £5k+. Since we had a ‘Show Price’ discount of 25% it made if more within our budget. The company are still making a profit... so keep this in mind when getting quotes for open cell roofing insulation.

Water Repellent Treatment

I had Foamroof to repoint broken hip tiles, clean roof of moss and had Pro-Perla water repellent roof treatment.
The men were very efficient and gave me a full explanation of what they were doing.
They always arrived when they said they would and were very friendly and left the premises tidy.
I would recommend them.

Near Calne

We're really happy with the foam insulation installed in our attic space by Foamroof Ltd. Their installers worked hard and were polite and professional.
We noticed the difference immediately. The space used to really heat up in hot weather. Looking forward to seeing the difference it makes once the temperature outside drops.

An excellent job

An excellent job. Absolutely no mess and done quickly. One visit to check the outside of the roof and fix a couple of broken tiles. Then a visit to spray the inside of the roof which didn’t take half a day. Finally a visit to install the loft ladder which is very tidy.

DO NOT USE!

This is the same company that traded under the name Dreamroof. DO NOT USE THEM! We had spray foam installed in 2017 by Dreamroof, all went well, as far as we knew. We are now finding that, not only is our house unmortgageable, but we cannot have the foam removed to enable someone to buy it as there is a question mark over the integrity of the roof timbers. They told us all the same things that Foamroof are saying to their customers. Our dream of moving is now ruined by this company, as we would need to spend tens of thousands of pounds having the whole house completely re-roofed - an expense we simply cannot afford. I repeat - DONOT USE THIS OR ANY OTHER SPRAY FOAM COMPANIES!

Hi Margaret if you can contact us we will be able to help you. Unfortunately you are not a customer of Foamroof but we can help provide evidence that breathable spray foam does not cause issues with timbers. We are also providing a free service of an inspection to gather the factual evidence to help you. When spray foam is installed correctly and the documentation supports it then mortgage companies have no issues. Please contact us directly as we are willing to help.

Generally very pleased

We were extremely impressed by the team who came to apply the foam who were clean, tidy, polite and professional. We were also impressed by the surveyor who came to check the roof and give us a quote. We do not give 5 stars however because the advice we were given by the surveyor and the installers about whether or not the felt needed removing seemed to contradict each other and we felt that we needed to check with the head office to be sure that what we were getting was best for us..

Incorrect information given by salesman

When the salesman visited he told me that my roofing felt was in bad condition and would have to be removed, then the foam would be applied to the underside of the tiles. I paid a deposit on this basis but when the workers arrived they said that the felt was fine and sprayed directly onto it. I feel I was misled about the state of the roof; had I known that the felt was fine I would probably not have gone ahead with the order. The promised advertising board has not arrived and Foamroof has not replied to any of my letters. I have contacted Citizens' Advice and they are passing it on to Trading Standards.

Hi Mrs Sherwin, I spoke with you before the Christmas break and I wrote to you 10th January. It's a shame that your review is only two stars. Your roof was in poor condition and we have now extended the life of it and guaranteed it! The aim of the spray foam insulation that we have installed is to prevent water ingress and insulate the property. Unfortunately as you have solar panels we cannot remove the felt as this would then cause major water ingress and future issues with your solar. The team did explain that the felt was fine to spray too.

Just to explain, if we removed the felt and sprayed directly to your tiles it would mean that you would never be able to repair, replace or service the solar panels without damaging the tiles that have been sprayed foamed. This would invalidate our guarantee and no doubt the solar company’s. Also all of the fixing points of the solar will have been effectively glued to the roof. So the correct approach is to retain the felt and spray directly to it.

We have completed all of the work to a very high standard. By spraying to the felt, which is an approved way of installing, we have done the right thing for your home.
