I recently had the pleasure of joining an Abu Simbel tour led by Omar Haridi, and I can’t recommend him enough! From start to finish, Omar’s extensive knowledge of the history and significance of the site truly enhanced the experience. He presented information in a way that was not only accessible but also engaging, making learning feel effortless and enjoyable.

He made complex information easily accessible, turning what could have been a dry history lesson into an engaging and fun learning experience.

Omar’s passion for the subject was infectious, and he had a knack for storytelling that brought the ancient history of Abu Simbel to life. He was patient, answering all our questions and encouraging discussions among the group, which added to the overall experience.

The organization of the tour was impeccable, and every detail was well thought out, ensuring that we all had a fantastic day. The breathtaking views of the temples were awe-inspiring, and Omar’s insights made them even more meaningful.

​We had an amazing day in Luxor, thanks entirely to Marian Azer! Her vast knowledge of all the sites was incredible, and she helped us understand the hieroglyphs better than any other guide. Marian's excellent communication skills made our education on the ancient sites thorough and engaging. Highly recommended!

Egypt tour , Samar Nagi and team did a great job in showing us all the notable places.
Samar Nagi enthusiasm and command over Egypt history and her explanation of all the sites starting from Day 1 at Luxor for Karnak and Luxor temple and day 2 at Valley of king , Valley of Queens and Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is really commendable. Thanks Egypt tours for taking care of providing a great experience of notable the tourist places. Conditions of the Car , pleasant Driver and charming and knowledgeable guide made a great impact.

Reem has made my upcoming trip booking process easy and convenient with a great patience. This will be my first visit to Egypt. I am looking forward to the rest seeing how it goes.

If Egyptology is your thing, then Omar Haridi is the king!!. Just had 4 days around Luxor and Aswan as part of our tour where we were blessed to have Omar as our guide. What this bloke doesn't know about ancient Egypt isn't worth knowing!!!. He's extremely knowledgeable and his passion for the Luxor area in particular really comes through with his guidance. Thankyou Omar and all the best as you strive to achieve your masters degree.

Marian Azer was incredible as a guide. She told us a lot of history, annekdotes and connected them with another. Also was always open for questions of all sorts, as today's egyptology

Our guide Omar Haridi was amazing and so knowledgeable. He was also very kind, caring and thoughtful when I wasn’t feeling well. He looked after our group of 11 like it was his own family. I would highly recommend Omar for any future tours. Thank you so much Omar we love you xo

My Review of Egypt Tour Portal & Guide Mahmoud

We recently returned from a tour with Egypt Tour Portal and had a wonderful experience, largely thanks to our guide, Mahmoud.

Mahmoud was the highlight of our trip. He is super friendly, has an amazing personality, and made our family feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the entire tour. He was excellent at communicating and always attentive to our needs. Most importantly, he was not at all pushy, which we truly appreciated. He also gave a fantastic restaurant recommendation on our last day—the food was beyond amazing!

The tour itself is legit and well-organized. The Nile cruise was a great experience; the food on board was awesome, and the entire staff was super friendly and never pressured us for tips. It's worth noting that the ship's interior is a bit outdated, but the excellent service more than made up for it.

We have just a couple of suggestions for future travelers:

1. Consider the season: We suggest visiting during the winter. Walking all morning under 100-degree sun was quite intense.
2. Timing for families: The schedule had some significant waiting time between activities. Also, dinner on the cruise started at 8:30 PM, which was a little late for our young daughter.

Overall, we had a great time and would highly recommend Egypt Tour Portal, especially if you are lucky enough to get Mahmoud as your guide

The day in Luxor was awesome. We visited a handful of places but will focus on the two we spent the most time at and left the biggest impression - the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Karnak.

What I loved about the Valley of the Kings was actually stepping into the tombs of each Pharaoh. Admittedly, millions of strangers walking through their burial chambers, disrupting their passage to the other side, probably wasn't what they had in mind but being able to step into the lives of the workmen and the Pharaoh's grave was amazing. Learning that the workers started the day the pharaoh started his reign and ended shortly after death was intriguing because it explained why some tombs were deeper than others. The artwork telling the story of the journey to the afterlife also caught my imagination. Encourage you to bring small bills for tips for local who will take your picture. During slow season, you might get some special shots.

Moving on to the Temple of Karnak. It was amazing to see so many sphinxes, the procession road, and each statue and column. The complex, and the way each pharaoh expanded the complex, was fascinating.

Special thanks to Marian, the tour guide, who provided some variety and great history. And, as always, to the driver who kept us on time and patiently navigated traffic.

If there was no explanation made by the knowledgeable tour guide, I may have just passed through in front of the statues, monuments, tombs, etc. Although I sometimes got confused by complicated kings and gods name and their histories, I really enjoyed the whole tour.

Omar Haridi was an outstanding guide. He knew so much about ancient Egypt and was passionate about the history. He made each experience memorable and interesting. He always went above and beyond for us. Nothing was ever a problem. He certainly made our visit to Egypt a remarkable experience that will be fondly remembered for ever. Thank you Omar. My husband and I had the pleasure of spending 5 days with our private guide, Hossam Hassan (who goes by the nickname Bruno Mars), traveling from Luxor to Aswan. Being a native of Luxor, Bruno brought the ancient history of Egypt to life with his deep knowledge, passion, and storytelling. He knew exactly which sites and temples to highlight and the best spots to enjoy them.

What really stood out was his upbeat, positive personality. We shared so many laughs along the way, and he made every day both fun and meaningful. One of the highlights was a surprise birthday celebration for my husband in the Nubian village, complete with a traditional Nubian dance party — something we’ll never forget.

This was a bucket list trip for us, and thanks to Bruno, we felt safe, well cared for, and immersed in the beauty of Egypt the entire time. We highly recommend hiring a guide when visiting Egypt, and we can’t thank Bruno enough for making our journey so memorable that we’ll never forget.

Ms. Shorouk Karam did an excellent job of quickly and clearly communicating the requirements for booking a trip and recommended great hotels in Aswan and Luxor.

I don’t know where to begin. My husband and I had the most incredible day at the pyramids with our guide Mohamed Elshemei. Mohamed was incredibly kind, patient and flexible. He truly went above and beyond to make sure our day was unforgettable. He is smart, engaging and had a wealth of knowledge about ancient Egyptian history, answering all of questions. We started at the Egyptian museum where he took us to some key exhibits and explained the history behind the gods, kings, mummification processes and Egyptian culture. We then headed to the pyramids where Mohamed walked us through the history, fun facts and more. He was incredibly patient and took tons of photos of my husband and I, walking us through the best angles and spots to get jaw dropping photos. The entire day he made us feel relaxed, and ensured we took as much time as we liked at each stop. He took care of all of the details and even checked us into our hotel and got us a room upgrade to a suite ! I cannot thank him enough and will definitely be back to Egypt.

We have taken a customized tour through Egypt Tours Portal including a Nile Cruise. This review covers the Nile cruise portion of our Egypt trip. Our overall rating is 3.5 out of 5. This is 5/5 for our tour guide Waleed Alsamman but 3 out of 5 for the cruise experience. We had booked and confirmed with Egypt Tour Portal a Lake Nasser cruise to visit Abu Simbel and several other temples on Lake Nasser, followed by a 3 or 4 day cruise between Aswan and Luxor to visit Valley of the Kings and temples of the gods and kings. At the last moment, we were informed this was not possible and were booked on to a 7 day Nile cruise Luxor to Aswan and return. All the visits were packed into a 5 day schedule, including a brief visit to Abu Simbal with a 4 hour drive each way. There is no time to linger at any visit. With more warning of the change, we could have been better prepared, or even taken a land and hotel option for Lake Nasser temples.
The cruise boat itself, Chateau Lafayette is a little tired, but the staff are helpful and cheerful. All meals are buffet style and have a good variety of cooked foods, salad, fruit and desserts. Breakfast buffet includes juice and tea/coffee, and daily housekeeping supply a litre of bottled water. Outside that you need to pay for all beverages. Not expensive but you need to be aware.
Our guide, Waleed Alsamman was excellent and provided LOTS of information about the site visits, and modern Egyptian life and culture and took very good care of his little group of visitors. He explained about each site before and during the tours and always managed to fit in some few minutes of free time for us to re-view specific points of interest before we had to leave for the minibus. He also made all the arrangements seem effortless and handled interactions with locals efficiently and gracefully. Thank you Waleed

Our guide Ahmed Haggag was full of good information and lots of fun. I'd give him 5 stars! But the company could do a better job of organizing the tours so you aren't staying places for one night and packing up to come back there later during your trip.

We came to Luxor just for a day and had the most amazing opportunity to sightsee with Samar. She was so incredibly knowledgeable from the Valley of the Kings to local customs, and food. We ate at the most amazing restaurant with the best lunch ever.She is an absolute pleasure to work with. it’s very ironic we were here on national tourism day, because she made our day here spectacular.If you’re coming to Luxor, I highly recommend that you ask Samar. Also, as a side note , she has quite a Facebook following and she is like a local celebrity. Everybody knows her. would recommend 10 out of 10.

We have Ahmed majid for three days of our tour from Aswan to Luxor, very informative with Egyptian history, very accommodating with our needs esp finding good deals, restrooms and in egypt in general. Ahmed is very friendly, and will make your tour experience great in Egypt.
