I’m living in Edinburgh. The installation of my garden gate went smoothly and it took around three weeks to complete. However, the company has failed to send me the 25-year guarantee. I have tried three times and waited for 4 weeks to remind them to send it, but my efforts have been in vain

New Railings + Gate
Sebastian and his team installed railings at my property in August and I was so impressed with both them and their products that I've just had them replace my garden gates. They arrived on time and were extremely friendly and professional on both occasions. I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again and I'd recommend to anyone looking to replace gates etc.

Great customer Service
Duncan was very informative and professional and we found it reassuring he was a surveyor not just sales. He was very accurate in his assessment of what we were seeking to achieve.
We took a month after his visit to decide to go ahead and we appreciated he did not pressurise us whatsoever.
Delivered on time (although we had to assist as only one person).
So grateful to have outstanding fitters; Tom, Steve and Jo! They are a credit to Colourfence!
It is not a cheap choice to buy this product and have it fitted so we were really anxious about it. We have no regrets at all!
Liaised with Sam, Karen and Jon who have been very helpful throughout the process.
Assuming it all remains stormproof going forwards, our only disappointment is that our concrete posts and wooden fencing etc taken away were not recycled as we had been led to believe.

Fence looks great with a professional job by Gareth & Jarrad, looks and feels sturdy with added benefit of no maintenance. The fence balls came later and that really sets it off. A shout out to Harry also who was great with advice and options for a problem we had with tree trunks.

So far not good
Unfortunately the fears of how this would go so far have come true...thought I would do a review so far...today is at last install day but that hasn't gone to plan...
At the start John came out to give us a quote and that was positive...he asked what we wanted was friendly and efficient and didn't do a big sales pitch. We initially got quoted on removing the old fence ourselves but after reading some reviews decided to change this to it being removed and rubbish taken away by ColourFence. This is where is started to go wrong...we had to chase for our new quote. This eventually came through and we followed the process of paying the 50% deposit and waited for confirmation that never came...we had to chase. When we chased this headoffice were unaware of our job...John hadn't processed the paperwork correctly. However Richard at H/O was very helpful and then assisted in booking the installation. We then discovered that if Richard was off things went wrong...
The fence was delivered when they said it would be to our back garden ready for the installer...installation day...no show and no calls explaining so we had to chase again...Richard was off but we eventually found out that the installer was ill (not his fault...illness happens)so couldn't install but only Richard could rebook so would call us on Monday (this was Friday).
Monday came and no call...more chasing...Richard was off poorly but the person said that we should be able to have install on Friday this week and would ring us back later that day to confirm and she didn't so we had to chase again...couldn't get through to the person but was told it should be ok for Friday...Richard then called Tuesday and confirmed this would happen.
Then we arrive at today...install day attempt 2...Al arrived promptly having called the night before to confirm he was coming and apologised for not being able to install last week. We asked him to check that he had everything he needed before taking down our old fence as we had read reviews saying wrong things were delivered...here is where there were more issues...on checking, everything that was needed had been delivered but the wrong height fence panels!!!! Al made some calls and then offered us to either wait for another date or he could install the shorter panels so giving us security and then come back to replace for the taller ones once delivered. We decided to go ahead with install with the shorter...currently they are being installed...will provide an update once more is done....
So far...Richard at H/O has been brilliant and so has Al the installer and his team...it seems to be that one person is allocated to one job and if that person doesn't do it or is ill no one else picks it up and it doesn't get done...the price you pay this shouldn'y happen...the rest of ColourFence has been very disappointing.
Update...installer Al has done a brilliant job with what he has ....he has been waiting on a callback all day to find out when and where the correct panels will be delivered...he's had no call...will see what happens after the weekend when colourfence realise we won't be paying the balance until they sort the problem and the rubbish is collected.
Update ...correct size panels are now in and the finished product is great. Throughout the process our installer Al and our contact at HQ Richard have been excellent as was the delivery driver both times, so too was the waste collection. Everything else leaves a lot to be desired...very disjointed. For a product that's so expensive you'd expect a better service. Here's hoping our guarantee paperwork now arrives.

Poor and unprofessional service
I'm writing to you with genuine disappointment regarding the service I have experienced in dealing with one of your representatives, Sebastian Orel
I first came across Colourfence through an advertisement on social media and, being impressed by the reputation of your brand, I decided to make an enquiry. On the 5th of August, I submitted a request for a quotation. The following day, Mr. Orel contacted me by phone, and I explained my fencing requirements in detail. Shortly thereafter, he visited my home in person, took measurements, and engaged in what I believed was a very constructive discussion about the project.
During this meeting, I set aside my work commitments to ensure we could properly discuss the options, as I was serious about investing in high-quality fencing. Mr. Orel appeared professional at the time, took photographs of my property, and assured me that he would prepare a couple of quotes to suit my requirements. He made it clear that he would get back to me promptly so that I could make an informed decision.
Unfortunately, this was the last I heard from him. Despite my patience, no quotation ever arrived. On the 12th of August, I even sent him a text message to politely follow up, but I received no reply. Since then, there has been complete silence.
I must stress how disheartening this has been. I approached Colourfence with a healthy budget, genuine intent, and confidence in your product, only to feel let down and ignored after showing my interest. What makes this particularly disappointing is that I was also prepared to recommend your company to my neighbours, who are similarly interested in garden fencing. Given this experience, however, my confidence in doing so has been shaken.
I appreciate that oversights can happen, but for a customer to be left without even the courtesy of an acknowledgement or a basic quotation is extremely poor practice. It raises questions in my mind as to whether Mr. Orel is acting in line with Colourfence’s values, or indeed whether he is a genuine representative of your company. As a precaution, I feel it is important to seek clarity on this matter directly from head office.
I kindly ask that you investigate this situation thoroughly, explain why my enquiry has been disregarded, and provide reassurance that this is not reflective of the standards Colourfence aspires to uphold.
I have been genuinely disappointed by this experience, but I remain open to hearing from you, as I would like to believe that my unfortunate encounter is an exception rather than the rule. I would greatly appreciate a detailed response so I may understand how this matter will be addressed and what steps will be taken to prevent such experiences in future.

Very poor service
Ordered our fence in April 2025 having had a representative visit our property to discuss, measure up and quote. We agreed to go ahead. Fence installed end of July. The installers were great however there were not enough materials. They contacted their manager Jon whilst they were here to discuss and I also spoke with him. It turned out that the representative hadn’t measured it correctly back in April (our quote/invoice had no measurements on it but we assumed that as he had measured it himself it would be correct). Jon was brilliant helping us to get it sorted out, even when the directors wanted to charge us for the fence to be completed! Last week (9th September) we had 2 small metal pieces of fence and a post delivered which we knew nothing about. I have contacted ColourFence by email and phone to find out what is happening but have received no updates. The materials delivered are nowhere near enough to finish the fence. Considering we ordered in April and our fence is still not complete we do not consider this even close to acceptable. Aside from the installers and Jon, the whole experience has been awful for which I give my 1 star. The fence itself would look nice it it was completed but I would steer clear of this Company if you don’t need extreme stress and disruption!

25 Year Fence ... Why Not!?!?
Colourfence recently installed both blue & cream and green & cream panels at my property – and what a winner they are!
The colours lift the whole garden and have already been admired (and envied) by neighbours.
The fitting team – Will, Elvis, Alfie and Teddy – worked hard and handled the project with good humour.
John kept things steady, and Saima ensured the admin was tied off neatly in the end.
Yes, there were a few bumps in the road (a Thames Water adventure I won’t soon forget!), but the team kept at it.
The materials are solid, the finish is clean, and I’m quietly relieved not to be painting wood ever again.
Customer service was responsive, which is rarer than it should be these days.
Overall – a strong product, a capable team, and fences that genuinely stand out from the crowd.

Very good product & fitters. Very poor customer service.
This is our third installation of Colour Fence. Two fences installed last year & the third in Sep 25. We have had problems with all three orders with late deliveries, wrong colour fencing etc, etc but this review will just relate to our latest order. I will state that we had to keep using this company as they are the only company that supply this product otherwise I would have gone elsewhere after the problems with the first order.
The product & the fitters are very good. The company/customer service is very poor and much room for improvement. Colour Fence are also using the name 'Easy Garden Living'.
We received a phone call asking if they can deliver our fence on Fri 29th Aug 25 & fit it on Tues 2nd Sep. All confirmed & we changed our plans to accommodate these two dates. We were very happy.
On Thurs 28th Aug, I received a phone call stating our fence would be delivered on Mon 1st Sep now. I totally disagreed as we had changed all our plans. Due to the previous problems we had had last year, I stated to the lady from Colour Fence that they either deliver the fence as agreed on 29th Aug or cancel the order as we had had enough.
Some time later, I received a phone call just stating it would be delivered at approximately 4pm on 29th Aug. It turned up at 8pm.
The fitting went perfectly as normal. A lovely team of three men.
When I received the warranty for this installation, it stated that the installation warranty was for only one year. The other two installations last year were for two years.
I contacted my surveyor/consultant that took the order (he was the same person for all three orders). He stated that he would look into it as he thought it was a mistake. He came back to me stating that the company had changed its policy from the beginning of the year unbeknown to him. I found it hard to understand how he could have been selling the product for the past nine months, presumably telling his customers that the product is covered for two years on the installation & not one person noticed that the certificate states one year.
To cut a long story short. Between the 2nd and 11th Sep, I have now received four copies of the warranty, from different people. Two stating a two year warranty & two stating a one year warranty.
A senior from the company phoned me on the 11th & stated it's a one year warranty but they would look into an issue if something happened in the second year. I was not happy with this as I wanted the two year warranty in writing. In two years time, this conversation could be totally denied. This manager was not going to change his stance.
It concerns me that Colour Fence are now not confident that their installations are good for two years otherwise, why would they change it to only a year.
Luckily, we have now had all our fences renewed so will not have to use Colour Fence again but I will not be recommending them to anyone.

What hasn't gone wrong
What hasn't gone wrong. Had a surveyor visit for railings to be fitted in front garden in June. Had a quote which we accepted and paid them a deposit of £1,674 and 4 pence with the understanding the work would be completed within 4 to 6 weeks. Railings delivered almost on time with a date for fitting. This is when it all started to go wrong. Insulation team said they could not do the job as what the surveyor planned wasn't possible. I am getting no help from the company and am now at my wits end as where I go from here. I get very little response from the numerous telephone calls I have made, very rarely get to speak to a responsible person always someone who is just manning the phones, their response is there is nobody in the office I can speak to, they will get someone to give me a call back. When I do get a return call its the same old story, they will get someone to call back. I am still waiting. All I want now is someone to tell me if the job can be completed, if not I would like my deposit back and the railings to be returned. Ideally I would like the job to be completed to my satisfaction. I have used colour fence in the past and have never experienced the problems I am now.

Very poor customer service
I ordered a double gate in early April but did not hear anything for two months until I rang to find out what was happening to my order but the salesman had forgotten to put our in the system. I received a call saying that they progress our order as a priority, eventually it was installed on the 31st July.
The installation was very quick and the gates worked well except that because I wanted them to open outwards (normally they install opening inwards) the lock mechanism was put on the wrong way round with the latch mechanism on the outside. I rang and complained and was told that they would contact the fitter and local sales manager to get it resolved. A month went by no further contact! I rang again today and was told that the head office had forgotten to track the resolution activity and that they would contact the fitter again. How long have I got to wait?
