They do not honor their 1 year warranty

In my experience, their build quality (Marvella community in Las Vegas) is REALLY REALLY poor. Their 1 year warranty is almost a scam. If it costs them $50, $100 to fix, sure they'll send someone real quick. But if it costs several hundreds or more, they won't fix it.

My advice is to keep looking. But if you still want to purchase, my advice is to get a good inspector on Yelp, have him inspect several days before the close of escrow and do not wire any deposit or sign any papers until ALL defects observed during the home orientation are fixed. Because after you have signed, they won't fix those big ticket items.

I bought back in 07/24. The home inspector found a lot of cosmetic issues early on. They fixed some before the close of escrow, some after the close of escrow. But they refused to fix the bigger ticket items.

The so-called "Customer Service Managers" told me at the beginning: "we don't fix these window frames" then promised to take care of the kitchen wall after his vacation but never did. He closed my ticket without any explanation at all.

I emailed care@ and info@ and got in touch with a person named Alex very quickly, but all he did was waste our time. He made an appointment about 2 months after contacting me for his contractors to come out and repair the two biggest defects on 6/24/24, but nobody ever showed. And of course, Alex no longer responds to our texts or calls.

The Century Commuinty is HORRIBLE

The Century Commuinty is HORRIBLE. The discrepancies from the final walk thru was not complete. Once closed they didn’t complete it as stated. We now have to put it thru the website. The front door lock was compromised with the programming code in it while workers there and the sink flooded in the kitchen.
I’m now realizing the work was very shoddy. I should have had a home inspection done; but they had to go through so much paper work because of the builder. Will be getting one now.
Totally not satisfied with the quality of my home. It’s only been one week.

My house was build by Wade Jurny…

My house was build by Wade Jurny (acquired or transitioned to Century Communities now). I would not recommend them to anyone. I have had severe drainage, standing water and other issues in my front, back and side yard since moving in about 5 years ago into one of their brand new construction houses. During the first year I complained multiple times and they sent folks out multiple times to correct the issue but it was never corrected. Then my 1 year warranty ran out and the assistance stopped. My hard is an ankle breaker. Unevent, small bumps and hills that make water drain towards my house. In rain my front yard, back yard and side yard all pool with water. Terrible experience.

Buyer beware

Absolutely do not purchase without an inspection and a licensed real estate agent. Save a hard copy of every change to paperwork. Contract is online and changes override the previous. Day before closing I was notified of the final which eliminated all discounts they had previously applied. I refused to close and they finally negotiated in lowering the interest rate as an offset . Once that one year milestone has passed you are off their radar and attitudes change. barely a week past the one year anniversary water was coming out from under my kitchen sink. The contractors were still on site but they refused to do anything about it because it was past the one year and would not even give me the name of their plumber so I can have the repair done. I ended up calling Moen myself and they replaced the entire faucet fixture at no cost and the plumber charged me $265 and told me it was a bad installation. Prior to the one year anniversary invest in another inspection by a professional. A unique selling point is the Taexx system that allows for a few getting inside walls which I think is a great advantage. But what you are not told is this system is unique to only Home Defence and you are at the mercy of their price changes as no other companies can access the ports. After year two many breakers had to be replaced. HOA is weak. Hard to enforce rules and keep property values up. Many of the homes become rentals making it even harder to enforce rules. Before buying in a new community take a tour through an existing community that has been around for a couple of years and ask yourself if this is what you want.

Let me just say "I love my home"

Let me just say "I love my home". But when I first purchased back in Nov 2023 there was a major issue that had not been addressed or dealt with by the contractor or builder. The drainage pipe for the property was not installed. So, when it rained water just sat on the lawn like a lake. When we asked about it and demanded something be done the person at the time was le ss than forthcoming. Needless to say, this was very stressful for me and my neighbor. I reached out to the Warranty department and that is when things turned around and we found a champion in Tracy Lee Wriston. Tracy worked with the contractors to make sure the large drainage pipe was installed; He made sure that after this large project was completed that the driveway was properly put back and no issue with it as well. That was really the only problem I have had since moving into my "forever" home. I am so pleased with Tracy Wriston and his knowledge of the warranty process. He was truly a Godsend in a time when the person who should have addressed this issue prior to purchase failed us miserably. Thank you, Tracy, for always being there and providing A1 support. This warranty team lead by Tray Wriston is top Notch. I recommend you purchase with this builder! Their homes are beautiful! And if you happen to have an issue which requires using your Home Warranty team, hopefully you will have Tracy Lee Wriston in your corner like me and my neighbor had!!

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - No logic - Would an offer on a home with more offer will be considered or less? I came day before with an higher offer than it was sold to someone else on the following day with less offer than me. Mine was not considered or not asked for consideration higher up and flat out said no when I was there day before. The next day morning it was sold for less.

Later offered another home at same price as the other homes sold price(which I got to know when in contract and those homes were closed) and later kicked back mine with asking of another $10000. I would not have accepted had I known the previous homes were closed for lesser price of $10000 since I was not aware they(lot 87, 88) were sold at lower price(440K) than what I offered (446K/447K) (how ridiculous). It just was not asked up and flat out said no to my offer price higher than what it is sold for. Horrible process and mine was asked $10000 more, I would not have accepted this at all. I literally lost my $10000 down the drain and ended up in not so premium lot. I would not have signed in my dream had I known the previous homes I approached sold for less. I will never ever buy or recommend anyone to buy from century. I asked for my earnest money back or to transfer to some other community or give some contribution towards closing or appliances, which were rejected, since you are always right and I am wrong. Ask/Empower your employees to ask, freaking ask and I just lost my $10K because of lack of communication. GIVE MY $10K back, it is lot for me.

Warranty is useless........Beware

Warranty is useless........Beware. Terrible customer service We purchased our home on August of 2023 from Century Homes in The woodland Hills Development in Willis Texas. We noticed some issues with our pluming and a tub making horrible popping and cracking sounds in April of 2024. We were informed by the Michael Home inspector for Century that did our walk through before closing August 2023, that we had a 12 month period to make a detailed list of problems with the home inside and out before the 12 month period of ownership. After the plumbers came to our home for an inspection of the Tub noise, they found that the tub was not properly set. They had to cut hole in our sheet rock and remove 2 levels of shower tiles to complete repairs. Our new home warranty inspector James, asked if we had tiles for the shower repair, i sent James pictures of the boxes of tiles and he scheduled the tiles guys to come install the tiles on June 7th, 2024. Tile installers arrived at our home to find the tile wasn't correct and had to special order tile for the shower repairs. July 19th still waiting for tile and shower to get repaired. Tile installers come out to our home and bring the ordered tile to complete the job. The tile installers bring it to our attention the tile doesn't match at all. Today is August 7,2024 We are still with out our shower/Tub and holes in the walls, the explanation from the Home warranty inspector that is wasn't there problem that the tile doesn't match and that it will be on us to make the repairs or accept the mismatched tile in our 400k home. That is not acceptable for any company to put it back on the home owner because of improper installation of a bathtub.

It makes sense that

It makes sense that, as a first-time house buyer, I was anxious about the entire procedure. But they made the entire process simple. I was able to find the ideal home that fit my wants and budget among their selection of floor plans, which catered to a wide range of lifestyles. I'd suggest them to anyone searching for a high-quality house at a reasonable price.

Horrible Company

This is a terrible company as they refuse to fix drainage issues with the entire neighborhood. I would not recommend them to anyone. We as a neighborhood will be seeking legal action against them.

Worst Builder I have worked with in over 30 years

I have been investing in residential properties for over 30 years. Their Tampa office is the worst people and company I have ever worked with for new construction and especially customer relations! I tried to leave my email but they won't let me. If I could give the a negative STAR i would do it.

After The Warranty Period Expires

(Please see the update from 11-01-23 at below.) Anyone who has built a home here in Texas in the past 4 to 5 years has a horror story or two to relay. Building a custom home in the 7 figure category in 2019, IMO, comes with certain expectations from the Contractor and its sub-contractors. What happens when a client discovers multiple issues with a structure after the warranty period has expired? One of the items melted the disconnect box in one of the 3 attic HVAC units due to a lack of code required cable attachment at the box. The potential for fire was very high. Should those items be considered poor workmanship, code violations or both? The home in question was completed July 2019. As a retired journeyman carpenter, I have knowledge about residential construction and I have restrained my desires to post negative comments about this Builder and the associated sub-contractors. I figured I have the ability to correct a high percentage of the issues to our satisfaction which I have been doing over the past 2.5 years since the warranty period ended keeping accurate written and photographic evidence of the issues both when discovered and after they have been corrected. After today's discovery, 10-11-2023, my wife & I decided it was time to alert the community about the level of workmanship we received from this Builder in hopes they could avert some of the issues we faced and continue to face. Today I started to replace the toilet in the front powder room which gets little if any use. The wrong toilets were installed in our home however that was the fault of the salesman who left the company prior to the finish plumbing portion of the build. The right hold down bolt was loose and the one on the left side of the bowl was finger tight and the left bolt was not even in contact with the base of the bowl. As I lifted the bowl from the wood flooring, it was clear there was never a seal between the bowl and the pipe flange due to the hold down bolts never being tightened. The wax ring showed absolutely no distortion indicating zero contact with the base of the bowl. This created a water leak and the wood flooring under the bowl is completely rotted to the point it crumbles at the slightest touch. I will be replacing that flooring before the new unit is installed. The feed line to the tank was placed too low to the floor to accomodate the 6" base boards so the trim escutcheon did not fit tightly against the wall. The hole where the pipe entered the room was not sealed or caulked either. I have to place blame with the Jimmy Jacobs Division of Century Communities as well as Casa Mechanical, the plumbing company responsible for the plumbing installation. Century allowed the superintendent to acquire employment with another builder while still working on our home. His absence at the job site was more than noticeable. The subs, many without house plans, started coming to me for supervision as I started appearing on a regular basis with a set of plans. This one item today may seem trivial but it is only one of a very long list of issues over the past 2.5 years since the warranty period expired. Our experience with the contractor during the build and the warranty period was poor at best. I do not recommend Century Communities or Casa mechanical as contractors. Century, in our opinion, misrepresented their ability to construct a high end home to the level discussed and expected. Our experience with them only makes that point for us.
11-01-2023
Casa Mechanical reached out to us after I posted my review. Century Communities-Jimmy Jacobs Division did NOT contact us. Casa had the floor replaced at their expense. Joe at Casa bent over backwards to see this thru and it happened quickly too. We originally would go thru Century for warranty work but once that expired they just turned us down. Going directly to Casa after the fact was the answer. Any company who fixes issues which were there from the beginning, once given the opportunity, in my book is doing the right thing. Cudos to Joe and Casa Mechanical.
