Do NOT go to this cloud provider.

I signed up, and wanted to try out their services. This comes with a $250 free credit offer, which was interesting. After signing up my account with my valid credit card credentials, I had to confirm the amount that was deposited to my credit card which I did. Now I was told by email that there was fraud detected on my newly made "account" and in order to PROTECT my account for possible abuse, I was required to provide a self-portrait holding a valid form of photo identification matching the name on file for the account I made, along with the number XXXXX on a piece of paper. Which I did, uploaded it to their site. After roughly 30 minutes I receive a reply stating: "Upon conducting a thorough review, we are unable to approve this new account. For security purposes, we cannot provide any additional details or clarification regarding this decision." I provided my state issued identification to verify and went through the whole process only to get rejected to even have an account. Regardless if it was to try out their services, I would have deposited money myself to try out Atlantic. I've never seen such practices anywhere and for this they deserve a bad review.

To ensure the highest levels of security and protect our client's interests, we verify credit cards using a small charge that is later reversed. In some cases, it can take a few days for the banks to reverse the charges, which is beyond our control. Constant issues and the most recent one…

Issues were resolved which is why I gave an extra two stars however I feel as though the support techs I worked with were not helpful at all. Instead of seeing after a few minutes that the resizing was not working and escalating it then, I was told to wait which kept my 50+ employees and however many of our thousands of customers from accessing our platform. We will definitely be looking into setting up something on a different hosting site should an issue like this occur again as we cannot rely on immediate assistance with Atlantic when a server failure occurs.

We also have over 30 of our software clients use Atlantic as their hosting platform so it's quite frustrating when we experience something like this and have provided them with a good amount of referrals.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the recent issue with your server. After reviewing the ticket, it appears that the VM failed to resize because it was not shut down before attempting the upgrade. Our support team was unable to provide an immediate resolution and escalated the matter to our Cloud Operations Engineers, who resolved the issue within 15-20 minutes of your phone call. Follow-up instructions were provided via email so you could attempt the resize again.

Please note that we would have been able to pull active backups and spin up a new VM for data recovery if needed, but this would require Cloud Operations Engineering to be involved as well, as it would require manual creation of a Snapshot that would be able to make a new VM, rather than restoring the VM in place. Our engineers chose to return the VM to service, as this was the fastest option for recovery.

We understand the importance of server uptime and are committed to improving our processes to prevent such occurrences. A management team member will reach out to you to ensure your satisfaction with our services and support. Thank you.

Im very impressed by atlantic

Im very impressed by atlantic. Very easy setup and easy to use no jargon nonsense to get a vm up and running. I havent had a chance in the last 2 months to login as i have been very unwell. But knowing i can login in and my vpn is working spot on is all we need to know service downtime or issues dont seem to effect my instance. China and russia where trying to be a nuisance but given the extra security and the security protection by atlantic to protect it services and customers has been spot on. But an example like me where i had to take time out and know my server is still running fine and working perfectly should give reassurance to anyone. The rates and costs are extremely reasonable and what i really love is the uncomplicated nonsense that you would otherwise get with aws. I recommend them 100%

Great service, no nonsense

I signed up with Atlantic.net at a special promo rate maybe ten years ago now. In all these years, they have never tried to revoke that offer or nickel and dime me for any nonsense. Their service Just Works(tm) and they never jerk me around, something that's increasingly rare among companies online these days.
