About StandUp Wireless
Written by the company
StandUp Wireless is a national prepaid wireless service provider dedicated to connecting low-income individuals and families with reliable, affordable mobile phone service.
StandUp proudly participates in the Lifeline Program, a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) program, to make mobile service either free or significantly discounted for eligible households.
For more than a decade, StandUp Wireless has helped people stay connected to what matters most: loved ones, jobs, education, healthcare, and emergency services. Our work plays an important role in closing the digital divide by ensuring that individuals and families who might otherwise be left behind have access to essential mobile connectivity.
Our customers receive free talk, text, and data plans through the Lifeline program, along with simple, low-cost top-up options to add extra minutes or data whenever needed. Customers can bring their own phone or receive a SIM or eSIM, making it easy to start service without unnecessary barriers.
What sets us apart is our community-based approach. StandUp is one of the few remaining Lifeline providers still showing up, on the street, across the country allowing our valued customers to enroll in Lifeline and get service in whatever way is best for them, be it online with an eSIM, or in person. This allows us to reach underserved communities more effectively and offer personal, in-person support.
We operate with a strong commitment to compliance and transparency, meeting all federal and state regulations that govern the Lifeline program. Our team works hard to simplify the enrollment process, provide clear information, and ensure customers receive the service they qualify for.
Our Mission
To remove communication barriers by making mobile phone and internet access affordable and accessible to everyone who qualifies—because staying connected isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity.

No bad reviews over here.
It’s free phone service so i don't have a damn bad thing to say about standup wireless. Ive had no problems really since I've been using their service.. anyone that’s writing bad reviews or complaining on their name is literally a straight up BUM. For real. Be grateful or go somewhere else wit y'all broke dirty selfs and keep your gross reviews to yourself or else pay for your own damn phone service. I have never had ANY problems with service or calls dropping, no lagging videos unless im almost out of my data. I usually end up buying a top up which is so affordable considering i pay NOTHING FOR THE SERVICE IN THE FIRST PLACE. Anyways, standup wireless, thank you. Y'all rock my socks off. 🤘🏼

This company is absolutely dreadful
This company is absolutely dreadful. They say they speak English and you can half understand what they say I said enunciate your words better and they told me to quit cursing at them. I asked when asking you to speak clearer a curse word. Absolutely the WORST customer service EVER!!! 10/10 do not recommend this service. No service or TextNow is better than them 💯💯💯

The company has lied to me from the…
The company has lied to me from the beginning. I had unlimited everything through another service and now find out that is not true. They have even said that I don't have an account with them, yet they charge me for extra data (which was supposed to be unlimited). Their employees just read from a script and don't very from it, so they don't even understand or care what your needs are. The phone is terrible as well. There is no memory. I cannot add the apps I need. I try to remove apps that are of no use to me but can't. The power cord went bad after just a short time and I can't get a replacement since they say I don't have an account! Frauds!!!
3 g of Data
3 g of Data, really, that's it? Then they charge a high rate to add more data. Rediculas. I supposed to get refill on the 8th, never got it for August!
Failure to cooperate.
I switched from standup wireless.com (4GB- Data) because AIRTALKwireless.com offered 10GB Data & seamless transition W/O having to change my cell#. Instead after approval from The Fed's (ACP) 7/31/25 my service was interrupted, my cell# was reassigned to someone else & as of 8/6/25 I still have no service.

Switched from tagged mobile had no good service anywhere couldn't get a hold of no Representatives went to stand up wireless representative answered the phone right away was very polite phone does exactly what I needed to do I give stand up wireless a five
I would avoid these crooks if you can
I would avoid these crooks if you can. they hide your port out info. they make it hard to reach them. they're fly-by-night and will just disappear with your phone number if you stay with them.
This company is crap
This company is crap. I don't even know how they get away with charging the tax they do on a top up. Unbelievable, $3.33 in tax on a $6.00 charge. This has got to be illegal. Who isn't going to be angry, when someone is stealing from them. I will definitely be changing providers.
Lousy Customer Service. Standup Wireless sends its customers…
Standup Wireless sends its customers spam texts every month at 3:00 AM. I called customer service and they said that the only way to stop receiving their spam texts is to block the number, which means that I also won't receive important notifications from them.
Received defective phone, believe it’s a scam
I was given a defective phone that stopped working two days after activation. I feel it’s a scam to gain access to ur information for a bigger scam. Don’t trust this company. To complete setup it requires you to connect google acct. I’ve never gone that far, and that’s when my phone froze up. I remove battery and when connected back phone unfroze, but only temporarily (like 10 minutes). They asked me to return the phone, pay 4 shipping and suggested I buy a new phone, which is probably another way to get money, since the free phone doesn’t work. I didn’t waste my time returning bc I knew I wouldn’t get another phone or repaired. And after hearing other reviews of ppl not getting their phone back or phones being answered I knew what to expect.
Personally I believe they were l hoping to receive the phone with all ur info connected to ur email & google, although they already have the important info when you signed up. I’m going to report it bc I never heard of a company make you pay to send a defective phone for repair. Definitely NOT worth the headache.
I wanted to give zero stars but its not…
I wanted to give zero stars but its not an option... The data sucks ssa real bad along with the call service... They need to go back to where they came from
Warning: Stand Up Wireless Sold My Info – Now I’m Paying the Price
I had a terrible experience with Stand Up Wireless and strongly advise others to stay away. This company either sold or exposed my personal information, which directly led to someone fraudulently opening a service in my name. I was never notified, never protected, and now I’m dealing with the fallout.
What’s worse is their complete lack of accountability. They haven’t taken responsibility, nor have they offered any help to fix the situation. If you qualify for free government assistance, do yourself a favor and go with a more reputable provider. Stand Up Wireless is a scam, plain and simple. Avoid them at all costs.
This company is not right
Ever since I have been with company, it has been a nightmare. Can't never use my phone. Get text messages 2 to 3 days later. Every time I look up, I add more minutes and data. Then, one month, I added some of the plan, which was unlimited minutes. I had to add more minutes. Before the week was up, I was adding more money to this account. This service is a fraud, and this company needs to be stopped.
THE WORST!
First off, i got a used phone that did
not work. They refused to take it back. Then they deactivated me for no reason. They offer 3 month warranties on phones..RIDICULOUS!
They said ti reactivate I have to find a street vendor for the company, no online signing up. Stay away from rhem..very dishonest!
Lost my phone number bc of greed!
I had my phone number for over three years with Q link. Never had a problem. Was told the company dissolved accounts into another. Did not experience a problem until today. When my phone was cut off because they said I needed more data and I didn't pay them $5! I could not get my phone reactivated and had not used all my talk minutes! Most of the time I am on wifi! So not used this company!
I started w/ Qlink Converting to StandUp wireless was seamless
I started w/ Qlink, they & some top mgmt. were involved in fraud against the US and they were forced to liquidate. StandUp wireless took over and I only found that out through several attempts at trying to make contact with Q.
Afet getting w/ S/U I created a new application in hours I was approved and my account was renewed under S/U. BTW StandUp is merely the administrator
federal lifeline assistance program. T-Mobile is the actual wireless network provider and they do that for S/U, Assurance and all the others, it's their propriety service everyone uses.
I read some other posts and I am surprised that S/U rates only 1.5 stars. I give them 4 and that's only because I had to contact them initially they did not contact me. But I also understood that when the Feds forced Qlink out of business, there was no time to talk between predecessor or successor and Qlink left everything in a mess.
These people are crooks who became my providers without my consent, and then turned off my data to get more money!!
I did not ever go to "Stand Up Wireless", but one day, QLink gave them my contract. It took a long time to figure out who they were because it's T-Mobile that shows up on my phone, but when I called 611, they answered, saying: "This is your wireless provider", then spent the next 10 minutes asking me a ton of questions, before FINALLY saying, "How can I help you?" Well... Let's see... I've been with QLink for 3 years and never had a problem with data, and I have not changed the amount that I use the phone, but all of the sudden, they switch my service to these people, who are too ashamed to even identify the name of their company, and now my data is being COMPLETELY turned off because they are claiming that I'm over my limit, so that they can now sell me more data. I don't want to buy their service. I got a free government phone because I can't afford to pay for data, and it's never been any issue until it was switched to this company. Sure, I had a data limit with QLink as well, but if I went over that limit, my data was only switched from high-speed to regular data. This company COMPLETELY froze my data to the point that I can't even access my bank account without borrowing data from someone else, and that is completely unacceptable.... And on top of that, their agents are rude and have no idea what they are even doing, including, the jerk who told me that: "You need to watch your mouth, sir." Since when do these overpaid secretaries get to sit and tell other adults what we can or cannot say? Last time I looked, we still had the right of free speech in this country, unless someone changed that a amendment without my knowledge, and, of course I had a few choice words during the call because it feels a lot like EXTORTION when I CANNOT get into my own bank account without giving these people EXTRA money to "cap off" my data, as they kept repeating. Isn't it strange that I didn't have to pay to "cap off" my data the entire 3 years that I have been with QLink, but now I have to pay them...$6 to give me enough data for 2 more days? These people are a bunch of crooks, and I truly hope that you are all paying attention to what I'm telling you. They are claiming that I'm using FAR MORE data than I've actually used so that they can get more money out of people who have the least... And THAT is a real crook... Those who gain from the pain and suffering of people who have far less than they do.
RUN DON'T WALK RUN FROM THIS COMPANY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!
What weny wrong is that I spent money on a phone with stand up wireless. It worked for 1 week. They REFUSED to send me a shipping label for THEIR BROKEN PHONE. BEST THING YOU CAN DO IF YOU HAVE A PHONE WITH STAND UP WIRELESS IS SMASH THE DAMN PHONE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE BECAUSE THESE PEOPLE COULD CARE LESS IF YOU HAVE A WORKING PHONE OR SERVICE! THAT'S RIGHT I SAID SMASH THE DAMN PHONE AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THEIR PLASTIC ACME CARTOON PHONE!
Don’t use them
Do not use standup wireless I paid $20 for 30 days of unlimited data, texting, and calls before it was even a week I got a text from them saying I’m out of data so I pretty much got scammed out of my money.
Stay away
Stay away! Poor customer service after hours of waiting. After 2 days of light service texted that I had used all of my data! For many years I had never run out of data with Qlink. No way would I pay them $5 every 2-3 days so I'll live without data til my new Safelink service is activated.
