Absolutely no customer service.
Useless company would not recommend to anyone. Tried to give benefit of the doubt due to covid but two years later and 4 emails later and about 20 phone calls later I still have no response. Still trying to make me pay through crs for an order I didn’t receive 2 years later! Useless “company” would not recommend to anyone.
Awful
Awful, iv been waiting for a replacement controller to be in stock for 3 months and it never has come back in. After several ignored emails I’m not sure what to do, with a board I can’t use and after spending £1300
Ghosted Board
Ghosted Board
I brought my board back in April 2020, the product was great in the beginning, but then from last September/October there has been problems with the motor but I am unable to tell for sure as it was on and off. The board was still functioning overall.
I wrote an email to them in the beginning of November and even sent them a link to a video to show the issue, however there was no reply from them (they asked me to send a link via google drive, I did but then the email went down to the sea).
Second email sent early January 2021, same issue and still no reply. Now one side of the motor is now completely busted thanks to the non-exist customer service. The board is still in warranty, I hope I will figure out a way to claim it.
Covid saved you from 1 star
I finally took the time to write this review as I thought it could be useful for other people looking for an E-skate produced in the UK.
As many clients in the esk8 community, I wanted to order a board from a local brand and looked at Slick Revolution, being one of the only, if not the only, seller in the UK, and their boards looking good and having some good reviews on some YouTube videos, I thought it would be a good choice.
I ordered on black friday for 979£ a board that was supposed to be delivered 1-2 business days later.
5/6 days later, still no board and no communication from SR.
I sent an email through their website asking for an update and the response was pretty short - "We’ve cancelled your order for now. We are currently moving warehouses and so once we move on to a new system we should be ok to accept orders. Apologies for the delays".
Although I now had an explanation, I was still 979£ off and asked what it meant for my money... refund? should I place another order later? Is the order gonna still be processed at some point? When? I even said in my email that I wanted to be patient and understood that the current pandemic was probably difficult for businesses like theirs but since it was supposed to be a Christmas gift, I needed to have more details about my money and order to be able to use it towards a plan B if they could not deliver.
After sending another 2/3 emails (and tones of failed phone call attempts), I finally got a response saying - "The order was cancelled so you should be refunded very shortly. Unfortunately we wouldnt be able to fulfill this order for Christmas".
So far, even though the emails were not really professional and not up to the standard I was expecting when purchasing such an expensive item, I had had responses to my questions (sort of). However, from this point, the money was never refunded to my account, putting me in a tricky situation for Christmas, no more responses to my regular emails, their phone number is completely useless, no one ever picks up...
I had to dispute this charge to my credit card provider to get my money back. Even them did not hear from SR in the 6 weeks process. If it wasn't for the credit card company, I would have probably lost my money.
The reason I am putting 2 stars and not 1 is only because during this pandemic period I want to give the benefit of the doubt to this company who probably suffered from this crisis and as far as I know, Robert Simpson, the CEO and person responding to my emails, potentially had a rough time in 2020.
That being said, having your own business means having responsibilities. The first mistake from SR is to still allow customers buying from their website when they cannot deliver and provide their products.
The second, was the poor communication and the lack of professionalism.
The third, was the struggle I had to get my money back for an order that was cancelled by SR.
As I am a rather positive person, I want this review to be constructive for everyone and if Robert is ever reading that, few good reads you should consider having in 2021:
- Oversubscribed (Daniel Priestley)
- Unscripted (MJ DeMarco)
From an entrepreneur to another one, this should hopefully help you understanding that customer service and relationship is 90% of the success of your company, if this is good, clients will be willing to forgive you for some of your technical/logistic/unexpected issues along the way. Community is everything and you are not making yourself a favor in order to grow your business.
I hope to see SR back on track in the future as I do believe this is a great initiative and we do need UK based companies for Esk8 lovers!
Website and prices are out of date due to Brexit
They need to either correct their website. They state:
SHIPPINGUK – Free delivery on all orders over £50Europe – Free Delivery on All orders over £150US & Canada – Free delivery on all orders over £300Next-day and Express delivery options also available
This is no longer true. Tried to purchase a bag from them item was £124.99 and at checkout £30.00 was added for delivery.
Unreliable; Terrible Customer Service
I bought a board from SR back in July 2018, was happy - good product, good service. In Nov 2018, the board started playing up, it would go backwards instead of forward, at a very slow speed. After a month of emails back-and-forth, they agreed to collect my board and fix it. Another two weeks and they shipped it back, repaired. I was once again satisfied. Since then I had several other issues which were dealt with. Bear in mind I always used the board sensibly, on normal roads, in dry conditions, very occasionally on wet ground.
This year, the board stops working again. While on the road, it suddenly stopped accelerating and responding to forward input - only the brakes were working. Luckily I managed to ride normally until I could safely get off the road - but I could have very easily been involved in an accident if the board had stopped at the wrong time.
I tried contacting Slick Revolution to book a repair for a month. No replies whatsoever. Not even an acknowledgement of receiving my emails. I tried calling at various times throughout the day, on different days, from different numbers, no response. I tried to purchase their Electric Skateboard Servicing from the website, but it refused to let me pay, due to some bug with their website.
Do not buy from them. In the past they were a great choice as they were UK-based, had great customer service, and were designing their own boards. Now their customer service is basically non-existent, and they are resellers. Stay away - shop elsewhere.
Slick Revolution - stay well clear
I ordered wheels in June, still haven’t had the wheels and it’s December, and haven’t had the refund i asked for after 6 weeks of not receiving them. Slick revolution are responsible for the worst customer service I have ever known, I now assume will have to go to small claims court as a result of this business (when the courts are back to normal), not had to do anything like that before, please don’t waste your hard money, Slick Revolution are a disgrace
I went with Slick Rev cos they were UK…
I went with Slick Rev cos they were UK based and I could expect some level of support from them. so far they havent disappointed. I will continue to support them for as long as I am sure they will continue to impress me with their attitude towards the e-skate community. Im pleased to be able to say that from my experience, any negative comments from others have been at least on my part to be unfounded. my board came with the AT wheels and they explained they would get my foamies to me within a time frame that they actually beat quite healthily. so yeah.. so far. impressed. \m/ thanks guys.
Customer service is trash
I am already waiting 2 months on a reply from you guys, customer service is not great at all if you have to send multiple messages and even then not getting a reply. I am having an issue with your backpack that I bought but the only solution they are giving me is by breaking unique things of the bag instead of admitting they made a mistake. Don't even give a discount code to make the mistake some what better.
THANKS A LOT!

Terrible customer service and attitude
I’ve never bought anything from slick revolution. The reason I write this review is because I’ve seen first hand the customer service as I’ve now seen a significant number of communications they have between themselves and customers on various forums and platforms.
I’ve honestly never known anything like it. Even if it was somehow true that all these different people who have issues with poor quality products are actually lying, you still don’t speak to another human being in a professional capacity the way I’ve seen these guys speak to people.
Although I haven’t bought a product from them, this is a genuine review of my own personal experience of observing their customer service. I knew nothing of this company until I saw them speaking to customers, and seeing their words and their attitude alone was enough to put me off for life and want to warn others to stay clear. I’d want to know who I was buying from and how they spoke to people (or seemingly outright ignored them a lot) before I bought from them.
Even if somehow you have a conspiracy group against you of a number of people making false claims in an attempt to return/have fixed something they bothered to spend significant sums of money for...even if that is true (although personally I find it hard to believe as there’s so many people and the excuses given by you are so weird, for example the review you find “bizarre” below which I looked up the guys Twitter just to check and his tweet tagging SR without a slick revolution reply is there for all to see)...you really need to sort out your customer service as it is harming your business.
Also, worth checking out the trustpilot stats on slick revolution. The reviews have tanked since the beginning of this year, and they have flagged a lot of reviews which when looking at them trustpilot have said there’s no issue.
Reply to Slick Revolution’s comment:
Honestly, I really am not. Everything I said in my review is 100% true.
It’s not what I see others saying on various forums which completely put me off SR (although that did a fair bit because I do wonder why you have so many people saying similarly negative things) but it’s actually what I’ve seen SR say to a number of people on various forums in response.
I really do hope for the sake of your company this sinks in and your take it on board (unintended pun).
You can’t speak to people in that way in a professional capacity, within any business but especially in a community such as esk8, if you hope to keep your company going sustainably.
People within the esk8 community will know due to forums, but soon enough forums which are more visible to those new to esk8 such as trustpilot will also make your attitude to customers clear.
Next time someone has an issue listen to them, respond to them in a timely manner, and even if they’re wrong try and figure out why they might think they are right.
Maybe go hang out with another company which has a great customer service reputation, take a course on dealing with customer issues, or just simply don’t ignore/dismiss people and talk to/about them like crap and respond to them professionally instead.
Look at your responses to negative (anything below excellent) reviews here. Almost all are from this year and every single negative review here this year you have responded to not by actually responding to the customer and their issue in order to apologise or resolve, but largely it seems to write a narrative to anyone reading why the review is a load of nonsense even although you seem to agree each time that they are legitimate customers. Ask yourself why you have so many unhappy legitimate customers this year alone, in a market which is quite niche and you describe yourself as a small business so I highly doubt you have thousands of customers in that time.
Believe me a liar and a fake if you wish, but I feel that is your loss not mine. I’m not a paying customer and never will be. I’m not linked to any other brands or competitors. I’m not friends or family with any of your disgruntled customers. I’m just a skater who enjoys esk8 and would have been really gutted if I’d have had the experience entering this sport that some of your customers have had, so I hope you change or at least those entering the sport can be aware of the risk they’re taking. I’ve nothing to lose if you believe me or not, but you and any potential future customers of yours do.
Second edit after Slick Revolution reported my review to have it taken down: I honestly think this is why these guys are sitting at 4 stars not 2 or 1. To get my review put back up I had to send evidence of my experience to trustpilot, which I did and is why my review now has the verified tick. I’d highly recommend before you buy from these guys to on an ESk8 forum and ask people about their experiences of Slick Revolution to get an accurate picture of this company

This was a birthday gift for my younger…
This was a birthday gift for my younger brother and the moment he got it he fell in love with it. I decided to go for this one after reading all the reviews. The material’s great and it’s definitely perfect it exceeded my expectations.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great quality electric board. Thank you also for the fast reaction and great support of slick revolution team.
I ordered the slick revolution backpack…
I ordered the slick revolution backpack which was delivered very promptly.
Very well packaged & very happy with the backpack. Also came supplied with
a bag to put your backpack into. All in all very satisfied
Terrible customer service.
The worst communication ever! I've called, tweeted, chatbotted, everything I could to discuss an order and never got a reply!?
For me, this is a company I wouldn't go near, not if you actually want to get your order and especially if you ever need to talk to them, they don't know the meaning of customer services.
And they have an answer for everything, it's never their fault, it's always the customers...
I never had an issue with Klarna, Klarna's customer service was spot on! As always.
Slick Revolution sold me a pre-order, that was all good. I decided to cancel the pre-order as they were not going to get the product in quicker than a competitor, all of this is within the terms of a pre-order no issues here... BUT!
When I emailed to cancel the order, no reply.
I emailed again, no reply.
I called, no one picked up the phone... Ever. No reply.
I tried the chat bot on their site, no reply.
I tweeted them, no reply.
Anyone seeing a pattern?
For some reason they don't like to talk to customers in my experience.
I finally got my order cancelled when I setup an email that fired off three times a day from my email account, the email said the same thing every time. It would seem it was at this point they realised I wasn't going away.
So they finally cancelled the pre-order. Without a word about my issues and poor communication.
