Review of Slick Revolution
Excellent customer experience. From the first few questions on the chat answered promptly to the delivery of the product. Everything was smooth. Overall the Urban 80 meets the expectation, soft learning curve and even with skateboarding experience I realised that it was better to start nice and easy. It just goes everywhere, I took it to all sort of terrains already and it always delivers. Now will see if it passes the commute test.
Review of OVO
I found the contract renewal VERY confusing:
- Received an email to check the renewal options
- Surprise! same contract price raised from £44 to £54 per month...WHAT?
- Call customer service, they say I would be able to keep the £44 a month and they would take care of the renewal.
- Few weeks later another email prompted me to renew...price for new contract £54 per month...I thought customer service have already done their job ?!?!?
- As curiosity I check if I was signing up as a new customer and guess what, the same type of contract for £44 per month. I thought they were advertising that they don't give better deals to new customers...?!?!?
- So now I have opted for the new contract option for £54 a month. I will wait and see what's my updated consumption and take it from there.
Overall experience VERY poor.
MORE CLARITY AND MORE TRANSPARENCY PLEASE!

Thanks for this review, it does sound a bit confusing but hopefully I can clear this up for you.
The quoted monthly renewal figure, on your MyOVO page, will use your annual average usage info and the new prices to calculate a monthly payment amount. The quote page for new customers will use whatever usage info you provided. Either way, the exact same prices are on offer, whether you're a new or renewing customer.
It's also worth pointing out that the quoted figure is only an estimate. If you've got credit in your account, it might not be necessary to pay the quoted figure. More info on how we calculate this here: https://www.ovoenergy.com/help/direct-debit-review.
