Get with the times!
Have an existing account with YBS. Opened another one online 1 month ago. Currently not close to a branch. Need to verify ID and address. In this day and age they still refuse to accept electronic copies, infact worse still they refused photographs of the relevant docs. Cant understand how a photocopy constitues valid Id/ address and a photograph does not. Seems entirely archaic and inefficient to me. Not exactly supporting sustainability either.

Why do you not answer your phone I’ve been on hold now for nigh on 3 gosh darn hours it takes the wee wee. You have intercoursed up my mortgage and your less than inept staff refuse to answer the phone. If I default on my mortgage you bunch of silly people don’t get diddly squat because I own the land and everything on it. How inept can one bank be? You need to sort your poop out and do your job correctly. 1st charge mortgages should be on the freehold and you have totally missed the point. Morons.

This is a regular occurrence and diminishes or credibility when payment is promised, ample funds are available but the website just freezes.

I phoned them simply to put my business card on my phones apple pay. I was holding for 35 minutes. I was then put on hold again after 50 minutes i gave up.

Cash ISA
Cash ISA, refused to transfer at my request repeatedly and ended at the end of the maturity being moved automatically to Flexi ISA of very low interest rate (not my choice). Difficult to get through on the phone waited 7-9 minutes. When spoke to one person, asked to wait and being transferred back to the wait and spoke to another person who knew nothing about the issue that was discussed. Despite having the record for the request for transfer out to another bank, still rejected the transfer and asked to speak to the bank who received the decline for the transfer from Yorkshire Bank!! Just getting no where and unhelpful to resolve the issue.
Profit before customer care!
As a loyal customer looking to remortgage i assumed the bank would do everything it could to ensure my best interests were looked after at all times. How wrong i was! During months of contact with their 'Mortgage Advisor' they failed to advise me that i was able to 'lock in' an interest rate which as a result is going to needlessly going to cost me £000s extra each year. A clear and obvious dereliction of duty on their behalf. When challenged they were totally inflexible and unwilling to accept any liability leaving me to conclude that they are more interested in profit than customer care!

I applied three weeks ago online for an account with YBS. They wanted extra documents for identity which I took down to the local branch near me. I am still waiting to hear from them over two weeks since I provided the documents.. In the meantime I have opened three accounts online with other providers, all of which are now active with money deposited.
