I have a double Respa Gel mattress

I have a double Respa Gel mattress. I thought giving it more time would help but no. It’s far too firm. The worst mattress I’ve ever slept on. I am a side sleeper and wake up in agony! The sides of my legs are so sore. An inspection will prove nothing. I am the one sleeping on it and it’s atrocious! I hate it.

Why is there 2 very different Respa bed experiences

I'm lying in the middle of my €800 2 year old Respa bed because there are 2 dips either side of me. I have complained 3 times to the retailer and Respa.
Respa, you do not care to hear customers are dissatisfied with their Respa experience. All you do is request "clarify the details surrounding your case", then you send out an English company to visibly inspect the bed and who writes a report on your favour. If anyone's bed was ever replaced following a complaint, there would be a review here to let people know what great service recovery you have. Your complete energy is focused on not replacing the customers new bed. Why would I spend the time complaining unless the bed is actually really faulty? Isn't €800 enough money to have spent to have a decent bed. Actually my bed was for sale for €1000 in Dublin retailers. I bought in Athlone Furniture World.
Another point- I can't understand why there is 2 very divergent reviews here. There is the reviews that are literally identical to my bed fault and terrible experience and then there are the reviews which are 5 star and people are literally tripping over themselves saying how great the Respa bed is. Apologies to the 5 star people, I'm just jealous that my bed is only fit for a skip and was never right and yours has been so great. My first complaint was when the bed was 2 weeks old.
My €800 is gone and I hate throwing out anything and keep putting off the day to go bed shopping again. I hate complaining about an Irish company. The only satisfaction I get from this whole experience is that I told my 10th family/friend yesterday not to consider a Respa bed in their current search for a new mattress.
Respa, you might be saving yourself a few bob today but unless you change your policy to customer complaints you won't have a tomorrow.

The independent inspection carried out on your mattress found it to be within industry tolerance levels for settlement and support, meaning no manufacturing fault was identified. We do appreciate, however, that this may feel at odds with your own experience.

If you remain unhappy, you are entitled to request a further independent inspection through your retailer. This ensures complete transparency and gives you confidence that your concerns have been fully reviewed.

Terrible warranty experience

Terrible warranty experience. These mattress do not last. Never again. Premium price and poor quality.

Just to note this is a real customer experience. While you have asked for further information on the case - I certainly do not feel comfortable in providing this to you. Suffice it to say that CASTELAN is the company you outsource all your warranty claims to and Crinions furniture meath was where the mattress was bought and warranty issue escalated to. This review is not to help Respabeds as I see other users have had the same experience and nothing but a lackluster reply. This review is intended to help others who may be thinking - respa is a quality brand with a decenty warranty. As a customer this has not been my experience in terms of:
1. Quality of the product
2. Warranty experience

No doubt you will still go out of your way to have the review removed.

While we don’t manage these claims directly, there is an appeals process available through the retailer where the product was purchased — in this case, Crinions Furniture. Second set of Respa mattresses just ordered

I have just ordered our second pair of zip and link mattresses from Respa. We're setting up an AirBnB business and want to have the flexibility to offer a double or twin beds in the same room. I have been test-driving the first set of mattresses for a couple fo months now and they are by some distance the most comfortable mattresses I have slept on for many years. They also separate easily to create two single beds; and remarkably when you zip them together again you can barely tell that the new king size double is in two pieces. Great service from the team at Respa btw - I had called with loads of questions before I bought the first set (eg best size of sheets; compatibility with different bed bases etc) and I had answers super fast that dealt with my questions and then added more information that I wasn't asking about but needed to know. We'll be back for more as the business grows

I purchased a RESPA Regent mattress…

I purchased a RESPA Regent mattress from a local supplier less than a year ago, The price was meant to have been reduced but the advertised price is still the same now / marketing ploy. I'm not sure what the real retail price actually is or was.
Within about 8 months it developed a dip in the centre about 1 foot in diameter and about 3 inches in depth. The sunken area has lost its elasticity and does not return to shape, its a memory foam mattress by the way, or is meant to be !
Other people have posted similar comments here also about this issue / having strange hollow patches in their mattress on recent purchases.
It was inspected, RESPA didnt want to give me the report, the engineer spent over 30 mins with some string and a measuring tape and wrote a 7 page report, that you could condense into 1 page ! He also let slip that he has seen this issue before, normally not on the centre of the mattress, on the sides !
RESPA and retailer Ez Living Interiors blame me based on the comical report findings and have washed their hands of the claim, this mattress did come with a 5 Year Warranty which obviously means absolutely nothing.
They blame that the solid base that the mattress sits on is wrong by about 1 inch overhang ! The mattress is meant to have extra side reinforcements also to increase rigidity. The base is also solid and the mattress is one sided / cant be turned over.
They are denying that the sunken area a foot in circumference is a manufacturing / design fault !
Their warranty dodging excuse is not believable.
It will be unusable shortly !
What ensued was a trail of emails back and forward to the retailer, you cant contact RESPA directly which is strange.
The questions that I asked in the 10 emails were never fully answered, my questions that were responded came back with flowery / shallow answers wishing me a nice day / evening etc !
I gave up in the end as it was pointless. I will be bringing this matter to The CCPC also as I am a consumer and have rights I believe under Sale of Goods Act etc/
Warranty and aftersales service consisted of a warranty dodging exercise by manufacturer (RESPA) and retailer - Ez Living Interiors.
The lifespan of my mattress wont be a whole lot longer and its next journey will be to the local recycling centre.
I am disappointed with my purchase from RESPA, I have purchased other items of furniture from Ez Living Interiors, their sale staff are knowledgeable, delivery staff are rude and aftersales is just an email battle that goes nowhere.
I will buy a better brand next time with better build quality, that is fit for purpose and from a reputable retailer / supplier who will honour warranty and not fob me off with nice words that amount to nothing.
Pointless purchase that should last longer !
Overall, a disappointment and waste of time.

The inspection identified that the base has a significant gap in the middle and lacks proper support, contributing to the dipping you’ve experienced. Proper support is essential for maintaining mattress integrity, and an unsuitable base can lead to issues over time.

Respa, never again!

Had a very bad experience with Respa customer care. Opened a claim with the retailer for the mattress excessively dipping and the retailer was first told by Respa that they inspected my mattress and it was fine (not true), then that they called me and I didn't answer (not true). It is now almost 2 months since the claim was opened and I'm still waiting. Worst experience customer care ever.

Update 27.03.25: Warranty claim denied by Respa. I'm going to buy a new mattress and leave this all Respa experience behind.

Anything to get out of a repair

We bought a respa mattress five years ago from their luxury range. The mattress developed problems with the spring coming up through the casing. We took photos and asked Respa to inspect the mattress and as it was under warranty time frame to consider a repair. Respa refused point blank without even looking at the damage being caused by their faulty workmanship claiming the mattress has been soiled. It is true that water had been spilt and part of the mattress which was in the photograph and yes, this was one of the points in their warranty where they can walk away without consideration of their faulty workmanship. Needless to say we will never spend any money on a Respa bed or mattress ever again.

Best mattress we ever had

We got our mattress 2 months ago and I could not be happier with it. Such quality. I have been sleeping so much better. Its so comfortable from the first night. It's so supportive and yet like sleeping on a cloud. There is no roll off disturbing our sleep. My only regret is not changing my mattress sooner!

Rejuvenating

We got a Super King bed from Respa beds and it is incredible! I can’t wait to go to bed every night to melt into the mattress! The bed is huge and fantastic quality, there is so much storage underneath. I slept well anyway but my sleep is even better now, I wake up feeling rejuvenated and reenergised. The whole experience from ordering through to delivery was of such a high standard. I would highly recommend Respa beds to anyone looking for a new bed.

Transformational!

I can’t explain the difference between my old bed and new Respa bed, it’s that good. It has made such a huge difference. My sleep has gotten even better, it is so supportive, comfortable, stable and the extra space is incredible. And the storage underneath -wow!! It’s even helped clear up my room!
The whole experience of ordering the bed, getting the bed, the team, the delivery guys were incredible.
I feel everyone should be getting a Respa bed! The level of comfort and support is just spectacular and my body is thanking me for it. Every night is a joy going to bed. Thank you Respa for transforming my sleep and bedtime experience.

There is a terrible musty smell off the mattress. I looked it up on the internet and found out that it goes eventually but I think the mattress shouldn’t be sold until the smell is gone. I have always bought Respa beds and mattresses and never had this problem. Otherwise very comfortable.
