Used Pace many times for hiring vans. Customer service is brilliant, always helpful and polite. The vans are immaculate, very clean and never any issues. They even have a mechanic garage that has gotten me out of trouble more times than I can count, the guys in there are a credit to their company. Thanks Pace and team!

Vans are clean , price are good

Renting from here was one of the worst decisions I have ever made.

Issues detailed below:
- First van given did not start due to battery issues
- Second van broke down on the journey, and it took over 2 hours to be able to get in to contact with the emergency contact
- Emergency contact (Hasan) was beyond unhelpful and left an infant without a bed - which was being transported in the van - for the evening because he would not approve the recovery truck to take us to the destination (around 10 mins away) then take the van back to the depot. The recovery truck driver, knowing the circumstance, was more than happy to support but Hasan refused.
- We had to spend an additional day heading BACK to Eltham to transfer the things from the faulty van to a new van in order to do the trip again.
- The team in the Eltham branch (Maggie specifically) were helpful, however, once again Hasan was not.
- No apology from him, he accused us of causing the fault by putting the incorrect petrol into the car
- Once the mechanic determined that the issue wasn't petrol, he never offered an apology
- Subsequently, he threatened us for months with legal action, causing anxiety, to recover the cost to repair the faulty van they provided us.

It is one of the most stressful, traumatic and poorly handed customer service experiences I have ever had with a company.

I will never be using this company again, and I will never recommend their services to anyone.

I do hope they learn how to handle customers with basic respect and care in the future

Two weeks ago I rented a van Ford custom short base from Pace New Cross-quate=£85 per day and£200 deposit.I agreed.Upon my return (prior to 24 h).Parked where I was told to when agreeing.did pictures and video of full vehicle. Following day received a call from Pace New Cross telling me that an attempt to break into the van occurred while I was within the 24 h period,this my responsibility.I was told it was not my fault,but because this happened during my time frames occupancy that they will have to use deposit for repairs.I insisted on the money to be returned butI was told it was already used for repairs.Total cost of rental-£370 for Pace New Cross, and £370 deposit return to bank,total-£740.Would not recommended

I recently (20th and 21st July 2025) had the pleasure of using Pace Van Hire Sidcup for my van hire needs, and I do highly recommend them! From start to finish, the service was exceptional, and I felt valued as a customer every step of the way.

The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Margie, Luke, Elliot and Pietro. They look more like they’re brothers and Sister to me rather than work colleagues. They took the time to understand my requirements and helped me choose the perfect van for my trip. Their professionalism and attention to detail made the entire process seamless.

The van I hired was in pristine condition—clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary features. It was clear that Pace Van Hire, Sidcup takes pride in their fleet, which made my journey all the more

Eltham Branch PACE VAN HIRE be very careful as these people are crooks. I hired a van in January 2025 and when I returned the van on 12th January 2025 by 13th January 2025 PACE took £100 from my account then sent a ridiculous email stating i damaged the van i was in shock as the picture sent looked completely different to the van I hired as it had mud on the bumper also was a different shade of grey. Then PACE told me to pay £700 for a damaged bumper then did not contact me for 1 month and told me that someone else damaged the van also and now claimed i owed them £360 i asked to see the Dashcam footage and PACE came back to me with every excuse you could think of. I told them to return my £100 i was told they would charge £50 administration fee to return my money. I told them I am now going to seek legal action PACE then attempted twice on 11th February 2025 to take 1st £100 then 2nd attempt £260 I have now had to alert my bank. I still have not received any evidence apart from 1 ridiculous picture. PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL as these people tell so many different stories also the RED FLAGS are seriously obvious when you read just a little part of my experience. I will be seeking legal advice on this matter. I have been through an absolutely appalling and extremely unprofessional experience!!!! Patricia from South London

This was a last min booking and the team at the Eltham branch was friendly and everything was very straight forward and easy!

The van was in good condition and easy to drive.

The hire costs were reasonable too...

Only bug bear would be the fact the spare tyre was in the van itself so we had to keep moving it around and even put things on top to get all of our things into the van. Apparently, they will be getting this mounted underneath soon.

Other than that, highly recommended!

The staff was fantastic and bubbly I dealt with THE AMAZING AMY AND BARNEY over in New cross, I would definitely recommend them to everyone, I will also be using them in the future. Even upon returning the vehicle and collection very professional, funny, and a clean vehicle was fantastic.... 20 star

My house move was a breeze thanks to Pace Van Hire's exceptional service. Ellie was very friendly, professional, and made the process easy. The van was clean, well-maintained, and reasonably priced. Highly recommended for a stress-free moving experience!

These guys are the best in the business! The service is always impeccable, you’re always made to feel welcome at every branch I’ve been to. It’s always quick and easy picking up a van. I used to use one of the big van hire companies but thought I’d give these guys a go and I’ll never go back.

Wow what a great experience I had with Pace van hire! I was lucky enough to have Ellie help me with my booking, she making the whole start to finish process run smoothly. Not only was she incredibly patient with me but also really helpful. This was my first timing moving house and I thought it was going to be really stressful but Ellie literally took so much stress off my plate and made the whole thing 10 x easier. Would highly recommend her and this company!
