Non delivery
Non delivery - placed an order for a cheesecake shop delivery, app had prepopulated the delivery address as the pick up address, so I put in the delivery notes what the delivery address was, spoke to the shop owner, who confirmed he would direct the driver to the delivery notes, and even called me when the driver arrived. I spoke to the driver who advised that he would deliver within 20min. An hour after that I contacted menulog when it still hadn't been delivered and they told me that on this occasion they wouldn't be able to compensate me. Wouldn't contact the driver, told me my frustration was understandable, but couldn't do anything to help! I've paid $70 for a $40 cheesecake, which I know the driver collected and Menulog won't do anything about it. Unbelievable!
Pizza delivery
I paid over $75 for three pizzas from a local restaurant. 1 hour and 55 minutes later, the order arrived. No apology from Menu Log or the delivery driver. The pizzas were cold and inedible. On contacting Menu Log, I was advised that they would not refund any payment. Menu Log’s customer service in non existent.

Singed up to be a courier and done what was needed purchase a thermal bag never arrived but pair for. This has been no human response

Double standards
I was told that something was out of stock
I was told that something was out of stock and asked if I’d like something else. I told him what I wanted but he didn’t get it for me. Then I did the exact same order through uber delivery and the out of stock item was bought for me which rendered it “in stock”. He didn’t get not read my texts. I am very disappointed, as I always use door dash. But not anymore 🙁
Service so bad it’s a joke
I have not seen a delivery service that blatantly ignores service quality. My order never got delivered after nearly 2 hours of waiting. Multiple phone calls to the restaurant which confirmed that a Menulog driver had picked it up. The app updated the order status as “Delivered”. I made 2 attempts to contact Menulog, and on both accounts, Menulog said sorry no refund.
It’s clearly a daylight robbery operation. I’d avoid at all cost. Not worth your trouble especially when you finish work at 8pm and look for options to feed the kids.
Continual bad delivery service
Continual bad delivery service. Often long and late delivery, regularly damaged/spilled/missing food or wrong order. Terrible customer service and limited or no refunds for missing items!

Food arrived late, went to the wrong address and was cold!
Food took forever to arrive, then it was delivered to the wrong address. After chasing the driver down, I was able to finally receive two cold soups. Nevertheless, menulog decided there's was nothing they could do. Waste of $50! Woeful customer service!
Disappointed/Angry
On two occasions it took over an hour for my order to be delivered. Both locations were less than 10 mins away from me and had a premium delivery fee.
First time I complained as food was cold and the driver came to the door with his dressing gown on. Said he was called in as a fill in last minute.
I was advised I would receive a credit of $5 which is a joke considering the food was inedible. I was never able to use the credit.
I didn’t even attempt to ask for a credit the second time but my grandson couldn’t eat the McDonald’s delivered an hour after it had been prepared. I know this as I rang McDonalds to see if it had been picked up.
There’s no clear way to enquire when a delivery is taking an exceptionally long time or when the expected time changes. The number you eventually find is not in SA and the operators are generic and insincere with their responses.
Due to these reasons and also noting some of my favourite places are no longer using menulog app I will be seeking alternatives in the first instance.

The most important part of delivery is to make sure it is to the correct address. All drivers should knock on the door. Some merely drop off at the door without knocking. I have had orders not arrive at all, and have had two orders delivered to me that belonged to somebody else. So drivers please knock on door and hand delivery to the person who opens the door. Thanks.

My experience with Menulog
This is my experience with Menulog using their app.
I order a coffee and a Pizza Toasty through the app which was easy enough to do from the restaurant San Churro's. First issue was with the delivery where the driver delivered my order to the wrong house, a common issue where the driver is not paying attention to the maps and stops at a house around the corner thinking he has arrived. When my order said delivered on the app and to give a review, I gave a one star review stating I didn't receive my order! Thankfully my neighbour did come around to my door with the order not too long after. Sadly because I gave that review first up, I was no longer able to go back and review the whole experience that option was no longer available.
Second issue nothing is worse than a mouthful of coffee grounds near the end of your coffee. I went on the app and selected an option about the food quality and I was offered an instant refund for the coffee. Fair enough but it would have been nice to have given a reason.
Third issue the Toasty was lacking ingredients and not worth $14.95 you would expect a Toasty at that price to be! The crust was so hard I just couldn’t eat it and warming it up made it worse. Tried to put my complaint through the app like I did the coffee where I was no longer allowed that option since getting the refund for the coffee. Seems I needed to click both items at the same time. However, being fair I had not eaten the toasty yet and not thinking it was going to be bad. So no refund for the toasty which I felt I deserved not being able to eat it.
I wrote complaint via a form on Menulog’s website where I received a reply by email that there was nothing further they could do with the information they had. Whatever that meant. Seems with a refund already given, even tho only for one item, they could not further compensate me. Just an apology for my experience. I replied I was not happy with that and they just said sorry nothing more they could do.
Out of pure disappointment and risk of this sort of thing happening again I will no longer order from Menulog and I deleted my account.
