Performance Hybrid Jacket Mens
I picked up a Performance Hybrid Jacket from the Inov8 store in Sheffield about a month ago because I needed a synthetic insulating layer for the Lakes Traverse next year. I'd say the jacket is great in really cold conditions when you are putting in a moderate amount of effort, e.g. walking at pace etc. However, for me, it is too warm to wear for running in, except for short periods of time at lower paces, e.g. a 10 minute warm up or cool down etc. That being said, I have a similar Patagonia jacket and that is exactly the same, so I don't think it is a problem related to this jacket in particular. The fit is great, the hood is really snug and moves well with the head, it has a cosy chin guard, the thumb loops work really well and the split pockets are actually surpringly useful - the inner one is quite tight so you could put something like a headtorch in there and it wouldn't bounce about. I guess it saves weight and makes it eaiser to layer the jacket under a waterproof, but there's no insulation in the forearms, so if you're walking into the wind you can feel the cold on them. I'd have preferred to have insulation running down the front of the whole arm I think. If I was hiking in cooler weather where the threat of a downpour was minimal, I'd happily take this as my only outer layer.
