Letter of gratitude…

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to D. Plumridge Paving and Brickwork for the outstanding work they carried out on our driveway. From the very first consultation, it was clear that Darren is a hardworking, honest, and dedicated professional. He came fully prepared with brochures, patiently answered all of our questions, and offered valuable advice to help us make the right choice. We decided to proceed with the beautiful Bradstone Cobblestones, and it was one of the best decisions we’ve made.

Although the wait for the project was longer than anticipated, it was worth every moment. The team — Courtney, George, and Harrison — were absolutely exceptional. They worked tirelessly to ensure every detail was executed to an exacting standard, going above and beyond to accommodate every request and making sure nothing was too much trouble. Their professionalism, craftsmanship, and attention to detail were evident throughout, and their efforts truly exceeded our expectations.

At the end of the job, the site was left clean and tidy, and the finished result speaks for itself — a beautiful driveway that have completely transformed the look and feel of our home.

If you’re considering a new driveway, patio, or any brickwork, I can’t recommend Darren and his team highly enough. Put your trust in them, and you won’t be disappointed.

Awful central heating experience.

Awful central heating experience.
It took 14 days instead of 4. The engineer left (literally running out of the door) on three occasions without checking if the system was working leaving us with several days without hot water and/ or central heating. A leak from ceiling was fixed only for it to leak extensively the next day causing considerable staining which meant we had to shut the system off. In spite of being promised a next day visit, no one turned up for 3 days. All in all awful. We demanded another engineer visit to check the system was OK. Our request for compensation was refused, really annoying as we paid over the odds for what we though would be a first class service. Avoid!!

Never again

Never again. I was pleased to get an appointment by one the their "professionals" and I was willing to pay the extortionate sum he/JLHS charged just to get the job done. A few weeks later I discovered his work had caused serious damage. This was the start of endless emails to and from JLHS who assumed I was lying. I was finally vindicated and received the most begrudging apology. Fortunately, my home insurance covered the cost of the extensive repairs. I have had quite enough frustrating email to-ing and fro-ing with JLHS and the case is (almost) resolved and I do not wish to include the booking ID.

Poor Quality Work done - no vetting of work here!

We contracted with a tradesman influenced by the fact that they were in partnership with a name like John Lewis. Do NOT believe the line that they vet the companies that they partner with as the fence that was put up is not fit for purpose, extremely poor quality, unsafe with nails protruding 2 inches into the neighbour's garden, and John Lewis will not honour the guarantee of work as we did not contract directly with John Lewis. Poor quality all around. Will not be a customer of John Lewis again as this must demonstrate how they work across all lines of business.

The website was really easy

The website was really easy, given an appointment for work and name of plumber. Nigel contracted me, arrived when he said he would and completed work fixing the problem with minimum hassle and maximum efficiency .

My first Home Solutions job

My first Home Solutions job - leaking cistern. Udo has done an excellent job. I am very pleased with the overall service and follow up from Home Solutions team. I would definitely recommend this service to friends and family.

Excellent service

Had problem with a screeching toilet (!) Alex came at the appointed time, knew his stuff and sorted the problem. He was also friendly and polite. Very good service, would use again.

Loss of confidence

We booked to get an estimate to move the radiator in our dining area to another wall. The initial booking time was for Tuesday between 1-6pm. No one showed up. Informed Home Solutions the next day, they apologised and said they are not aware of any reason as to why the engineer did not turn up to give the quote but can rebook for Thursday between 1-6pm. I receive a call from the engineer before 12 noon to say he was at the gate! I called Home Solutions who again apologised for getting the timings wrong and if they can rebook again for the afternoon. I told them it was not possible for us to book with Home Solutions anymore. We have lost complete confidence in their ability to manage a job if they are struggling to get something as simple as timings right.

We bought this thinking it would be an…asset-

We bought this thinking it would be an easy fitting and use, to be told it was not suitable for the system we had when the engineer called to fit it,and be charged for the call out was not a pleasant experience we were left with a large bill and nothing to show for it, obviously we wouldn’t have ordered it if we had any idea it was useless on our system. Information on this should be more comprehensive.

Absolutely appalling -

Absolutely appalling - quote was twice the price but I had a discount voucher and they could get to me quickly then the fiasco started - I took the day off - no one arrived - I rang John Lewis the job had been booked for the the wrong day - they would get back to me - they didn’t - I rang they reconfirmed the job I explained I needed to leave by a certain time - they confirmed - day arrived no tradesman - on his way - can’t do the job in the time - will come tomorrow - that’s today phone calls 9:30 the job hasn’t been preauthorised and JL are shut ! I would not deal with service plus or JLHS again - oh and they’ve have my money for 2 weeks .....
