False Hypoglycaemia episodes
Purchased to see what my sugar levels were doing over the day as fasting BM checks have suggested pre diabetes however my HbA1C test is normal. The monitor suggests I am having very significant hypos both overnight and during the day with readings often going down to 2.9 and 15% readings below 3.9. BM checks however have not backed up hypoglycaemia episodes, and nor have symptoms. This is very anxiety provoking and potentially dangerous.
Unbelievable
Unbelievable. They provide what should be a lifeline app for diabetics to use. Absolutely shocking that so many Samsung phones suddenly won't work. Disgusting 😡
I've given the Libre 2+ a good go
I've given the Libre 2+ a good go - I've used (or, more accurately, have tried to use) the sensors for almost 4 months. As others have mentioned, the readings can be inaccurate. I have found this to be particularly the case if the sensor gets warmer or colder than some unknown tight temperature range e.g., if it heats up because you're lying on it. More importantly for me, the sensors seem to fail at a much higher rate than the reported < 5%. I expect the only reason the reported failure rate is so low is that Abbott prefer to label problems as user error. Also, the rigmarole a person needs to go through to lodge an issue is time and labour-intensive so I expect a lot of people don't bother, again leading to an optimistic failure rate.
This system is terrible...
These sensors are constantly reading error meesages, falling off, or just plain shutting down! They're junk! The last five sensors either fell off, or shut down without completing the two week period. They have to be the most undependable device I have experienced in my 40+ years as a type one diabetic. Then, there was the phone line to ask for a replacement.
The personell on the other end never completed the return for the first three sensors, at all. The first time I called back to ask what was the delay, they said there wasn't even a bloody file with my name on it. What does that tell me about this replacement guarantee? It doesn't apply, that's what. When they informed me there was no file on me at all, I already knew what was going to happen trying tyo get the next four sensors replaced. Nothing... nothing at all. Their word is worse than the device itself. They do not stand behind their product as stated by their policy.
I am returning to the Contour system. Although it is not the same method as yours, I know it bloody works. And when I experience a fault, or have an issue with their product, they fix it immediately, with one phone call. I was on the Contour system for 12 years, prior to experimenting with your junk. I'll go back there, I know I can depend on it.
I have the libre 2 plus and I am…
I have the libre 2 plus and I am costantly having issues with them. Either I attach it and it does not work, stops prematurely or regularly will not give me a reading. I hardly had any trouble with the previous model. Perhaps demand had got to the point where quality is no longer a priority. This company must be hemoraging profits from having to supply replacements!
It's just business
It's just business, money is what counts, no matter what, and as long as the money is flowing, that's the target, the quality and technical side of these devices are some mistake, every now and then there's a problem, an error or a defect, it's just crap and that's it
Adhesive problems
My son has been using libre sensors now as nearly 7 years, throughout that whole time we had the odd faulty one, changed to libre 2 plus just over a year ago and the 1st 9 months was good, fast forward to the past 4/5 months and we have nothing but faults, mostly the sensor falling off within a few hours or days, we have only had a few sensors that have actually stayed on and lasted the full 15 days. Abbot is very good at sending out replacements, but surely they should be doing more to fix the problems in the long run, they suggested us using a skin adhesive before putting the sensor on his arm which I have started doing but even with that the longest we have managed to keep it on is 6 days 🙈 we have also tried covering it with patches but still not staying on, we used to struggle to remove the sensor after 15 days and always left sticky adhesive residue, now you wouldnt even know there was a sensor on his arm after it comes off, really sick off it now
Does NOT work with iOS26
Initial impressions of the product were very good. However, since then, two things have happened which have caused me to reassess.
1) The first sensor I have used lasted FIVE DAYS before it gave an error and refused to work. It was still firmly attached to my arm and hadn't been abused in any way - it simply stopped working. This in itself is bad enough, what followed is even worse.
2) I contaced customer services to request a replacement using the online form. I received an automated acknowledgement by email along the lines of "We are reviewing the details provided and will contact you with a response as soon as possible."
I haven't had any further messages from them to say whether (or not) they are going to replace the faulty sensor.
THREE DAYS LATER - I still have no idea as to where I stand - are they going to replace the sensor or not?
Having not heard anything, I contacted Customer Services by phone and spoke to an agent. He gave me the distinct impression that he couldn't care less. He was very disinterested and had no sympathy or empathy for my situation.
His response was that a new sensor should take between 3 and 5 working days to arrive and to contact them again if nothing arrived after 5 days. No indication as to whether I was going to receive a replacement or not - he didn't seem at all bothered.
I was trialling the sensor because I have been diagnosed as pre-diabetic, so am interested in my blood glucose levels and my attempts at controlling it by diet.
My greatest concern is for those who ARE fully diabetic and rely on devices such as these to manage their blood glucose and insulin and warn of potential problems when their blood glucose level gets too low or too high.
The sensors are NOT cheap if, like me, you have to buy them, but Abbott's seemingly total lack of concern for people trying to manage a serious medical condition simply beggars belief.
I would take a long hard look at the reviews on here before deciding to give this company any money. Their total lack of empathy and respect for their customers mean that I for one, SIMPLY CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM!
My advice would be to look elsewhere at a company that cares rather than just sees the customer as a cash cow.
UPDATE 1
Having STILL heard nothing nor received a replacement sensor, I rang and spoke to a very helpful CS agent and he confirmed that a replacement sensor HADN'T been been ordered (begs the question why). After checking eligibility he organised a replacement to be shipped (and I've had a confirmation email)
I wonder how long this new sensor will last? Anyone care to place a bet?
Still means that it will be approaching a week where I've not been able to measure my glucose.
UPDATE 2: 13/10
Replacement sensor arrived this morning and was fitted at lunch time. Let's see if it lasts!
UPDATE 3: 16/10
Nope! Replacement sensor started losing connecton around 8am this morning - with the sensor constantly around 30cm away from the phone.
This sensor has lasted just over 2.5 days
Since 8am, it has lost connection 15 times, and it is only now it is only 9:45
TOTALLY UNRELIABLE - DO NOT BUY!!
UPDATE 4: 16/10
Now up to 31 disconnections since 8am (it is now 11:36). Phoned CS. Agent said "Sensor is not compatable with iOS26" Will send me a reader (f.o.c.) and replacement sensor. Let's see if that solves the issue!
So BEWARE Libre 2plus sensor DOESN'T WORK with iOS26!!
UPDATE 5:
True to their word, I received a replacement sensor and a reader. Thank you Emma. As such, rating has been increased to 2 stars. Still not thrilled - although when it works, it is great!
I would give no stars if I could
I would give no stars if I could, I also believe I am wasting my time writing this review as so many others highlight the same issues. After only four days this latest one has stopped working and telling me it has failed. Still intact on my arm as I use over plasters designed for this style after having so many dislodged. Hopefully if enough complain and it hits their sales something might get done
Libre 2+ - AVOID
My hospital stopped the funding of the dexcom g6 and moved me onto the libre 2+… an unbelievable decision. the accuracy of the readings is atrocious; it says i’m too low to register but when i prick my finger it’s in range. it hardly ever connects so i spend most my time having alarms every 5 minutes saying there’s no connection, but then on the odd occasion it does connect, it doesn’t actually alarm to say i’m high or low. it has shut itself down on one occasion too “for my safety” because it was not connecting for a large period of time. this wasn’t just one sensor i had all these issues with, it was every single libre 2+ sensor that i used. if you want good diabetes control, avoid the libre 2+!!
The reason for sensors not working is incompatibility with IOS26
The reason for sensors not working is incompatibility with IOS 26. Abbott have not updated the APP or informed users.
I have had 3 sensors replaced and was promised a reader which never arrived
I have spoken to them again today but they still cant give a date for the update
Not only inefficient but dangerous for diabetics!
This company is in complete disarray
This company is in complete disarray. Placed an order for 2 sensors on 15 Sept. 3-day delivery promised at point of sale. It's now 30 Sept and despite making 4 calls, two of which promised to send replacements, I still have received nothing. That's three orders they created, none of which have arrived. AVOID AVOID AVOID
Keep loosing signal in the most crucial moments.
Freestyle libre 2 plus sensor keep loosing signal usualy when glucose levels starts to change quickly on either way. So im not getting alarms or notification until i start feeling that something is wrong then i have to reconect it and wait. Tried to speak with costumer service that it's happening a lot and it look it's not a mater of specyfic sensor as them all do that. All i got is please give me the serials of sensors you taking. No explanation that it's general problem works. Only mean to help is send you another sensoe working just like all before. It's not continus monitoring system if it's stop working on every biger jump.
Thinking of using alternative
It's not good when some of the sensors don't work at all,I've had so many problems with them now,at least 1 in 5 don't or won't work, now when you're diabetic it is very dangerous that I can't check my glucose, and in this review it asks for a date of experience, will that is a never ending experience.
Always loses signal has some kind of 10…
Always loses signal has some kind of 10 minute reset at least three times a week. I reported to their customer service and they don’t care just give you some runaround accusing your phone and updates and all the other mumbo-jumbo so not only is the product garbage so is their customer service. For the amount we pay for these things it’s not worth the BS from the sensor or the customer service people.
The adhesive has changed
The adhesive has changed, the sensor falls off easily, not great! Sort it otherwise practioners will choose an alternative. The first two sensors have fallen off, previous sensors under libre 2 were fine
False reading or stop working
I am extremely disappointed with the poor quality of the sensors, the incorrect readings they provide, the frequent failures to start, and the slow customer service. Both of the sensors I purchased this month have failed. I have been buying two sensor 2 plus every month since January, and more than three times I have encountered sensors showing false readings or failing to start altogether.
Lost information
Got a new libre plus 2 sensor and all the previous information has now disappeared so it's starting from scratch
By using the the Libre 2 glucose…
By using the the Libre 2 glucose monitor I have been able to tailor my diet so I don’t have to take type 2 medication. So I suggest to all those with this complaint take control of your health and use this product .
Because any hiccups that I have had…
Because any hiccups that I have had with Libre 2 + have been resolved.
I have to say that their customer care is excellent and my issue was solved today.
I have bought a Love my Libre arm band to keep my sensor more secure and have used patches.
