Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. We received the car really dirty and late. We returned the car and the same day I got a message that everything was ok. 2 days later I got an invoice with a damage fee and a drop-off fee. Without photos and explanations. I asked and got pictures and an explanation that there was a cleaning fee. I have a video that proves that the damage was on the car when we received it and a contract where it says drop-off fee 0€. The contract does not mention cleaning.. They are trying to cheat. If you take the car from here, take photos and videos.
More 18.10. When I sent them proof that the damage was already there when we got the car, they no longer respond and now in this feedback they say that the pictures or videos I took are not valid as proof. Their employee also made a video. I asked them to prove that there was no damage. No answer, scammers.

Your review contains false and defamatory statements that we strongly reject.

Our customer service operates 7 days a week for over 10 hours a day and consistently responds to all requests within a few hours. The maximum wait is always under 24 hours.

The vehicle was delivered to you clean. Any external dirt was caused solely by unexpected rain just before your arrival, which is obviously beyond our control. The €30 charge you received has nothing to do with a so-called “drop-off fee,” which does not apply in your case. It refers strictly to an internal cleaning fee, due to the condition in which the vehicle was returned, as clearly stated in the contract you signed and in our published rental terms.

Regarding the alleged “pre-existing damage”: the damage was detected and documented at the time of return. You provided photos and videos that do not show any timestamp or other verifiable metadata; as such they cannot reliably prove that the material was recorded before the rental began — they could have been taken afterward. Our employee also made a video at the time of return which documents the condition found when the car came back.

The assertion that we failed to respond is false. We replied and provided the documentation relating to the return. You continue to repeat untruths in order to damage our reputation.

Accusations of “scammers” or “cheating” are offensive, unfounded, and damaging. We will not tolerate being defamed and reserve the right to take all necessary actions to protect our image.

Bringo Car Rental operates with transparency and in compliance with the law. Spreading false statements is a serious matter and will not go unanswered.

Not recommend !!!

We rented a car online and paid for full coverage and insurance, when we arrived Ricardo kept insisting that we weren’t covered by full insurance and what we paid for didn’t ‘work with Bringo’. He told us we had to pay for a car wash before returning. He then gave us a contract with some markings of damages on the car, had us sign the contract and then gave us the key. No pictures were taken, no going through the damages with us.

As we arrived to return the car Ricardo checked the car and pointed out immediately that there was a damage. Not visible and no scratches to be seen -but apparently a damage that costs 250 EURO. When we asked about it and asked if he was sure it wasn’t there when we picked up the car - since nobody looked at the car with us when we rented it, he insisted that we have to pay up front for the damage.
Sadly a really bad experience renting a car with Bringo. We won’t come back. Customer service doesn’t seem to be a thing here.

Also, be aware that the rental place is far from the airport, shuttle service is free, yes, but we waited long both to leave from the airport and to be brought back to the airport. We arrived to give back the car 9.30 and at 10.15 the shuttle would take us. Only after asking wether we would be picked us soon as our flight was at 12.

We would like to clarify a few things:

It is correct that the coverage you purchased was not valid with Bringo Car Rental, as it was an external insurance policy and therefore not recognized by our company. As explained upon arrival, this coverage is neither managed nor connected to our system.

Furthermore, as specified in the rental conditions, vehicle washing is not included: the car must be returned clean, or you can pay for the washing service directly at the rental office upon return.

Regarding damage, these are always reported in the rental agreement given to you when you pick up the vehicle. The damage we found upon return was not listed in the initial agreement, therefore, it is a new damage that occurred during your rental period, for which you are responsible according to the conditions you signed.

Our customer service has always been clear and transparent, both at the time of pick-up, when all the conditions and coverage differences were explained to you, and at the time of return, when you were explained the procedure for requesting reimbursement from your external insurance.

This review likely stems from disappointment at having simply applied the terms of the contract and charged for damage actually found during your rental.

Bringo Car Rental always operates with fairness, transparency, and professionalism, fully respecting the conditions agreed to by each customer.

worst car rental i ever expierenced

worst car rental i ever expierenced. They accept credit cards only if they are valid for 6 months. my one was valid for 2 month only and my 2nd that was virtual available wassnt accepted.
they told me to not accept virtaul cards, because there is no name of date in the wallet - true: but in year 2025 all banking apps show all neccessary 1:1 data like the physical do. But: bringo doesnt accept.

furthermore more options were offered, all declined. only ONE was available (of course idea of bringo) to acceppt a virtual card, if i pay 35eu/ day extra :D

i think its obvious that they only want to make more money.

Your review contains false and misleading statements that must be firmly corrected.

In Italy, as in the vast majority of professional car rental companies, a credit card with at least 6 months of validity is a mandatory requirement. This is not a “personal choice” of Bringo, but an industry standard. The reason is simple and perfectly legitimate: we must be able to charge any delayed fines or legal penalties that may arrive weeks or even months after the rental. This can be done exclusively with a valid physical credit card issued in the driver's name and with sufficient validity. A card expiring in 2 months does not offer the legal or financial guarantees required.

Virtual cards are not accepted by most rental companies, precisely because they cannot be directly linked in a verifiable and legally binding way to the person renting the vehicle, especially when visible only on a mobile phone with no embossed name. This is an international standard, not a “Bringo invention”.

Regarding the €35/day option, it was not a “money-making trick” but the only possible legal solution to allow you to rent the car despite not meeting the standard financial requirements. That additional cost covers a specific third-party insurance policy designed for customers in your exact situation: those without a physical card or sufficient validity. This option exists to help customers, not to take advantage of them.

Your claim that Bringo “only wants to make more money” is not only false but offensive. We operate with full transparency, in compliance with national regulations and international rental standards. Using defamatory language is unacceptable and will be legally addressed if continued.

Bringo Car Rental follows legitimate procedures that are standard across the industry. Ignoring these rules or refusing to comply with them does not give anyone the right to publish false accusations.

NOT accepting virtual or short-validity cards is standard practice. Offering a compliant insurance-based alternative was the only way to proceed legally and protect both parties

Hidden Fees and Chaotic Service — Disappointing Experience with Bringo Car Rental

I rented a Fiat Panda in September 2025, the car looked pretty used up, with lot of scratches and dents and had already driven 120 000km . One front light was not working, which we only discovered later when driving in the evening.

The negatives of renting the car with Bringo at Palermo airport is that you need to look for the shuttle, which brings you to the rental company. First you however must call the hotline of Bringo so that they tell you where to find the shuttle and they must inform the driver about to take you. The rental company is basically a converted container, which is next to their parking plot, to which you get only through a very damaged dirt road. Driving there is definitely not for beginners.

My biggest disappointment was however that you needed to buy extra insurance on-site, which almost doubled the total cost of the rental. This felt like a typical rip-off tactic, as it wasn’t transparently mentioned during the online booking process — really disappointing and unprofessional.

The return of the car was also chaotic, because the driver who was picking the car from Trapani airport, had no idea which car he was supposed to collect and initially tried to take a different one.
Overall, I cannot give more than 2 stars and those are only for the pretty smooth communication through WhatsApp.

Dear Samuel Barkóci,

All our vehicles are recent models, no older than three years. Some cars may have higher mileage because, unlike many other companies, we offer unlimited mileage to our customers — something that naturally results in a higher odometer reading but does not compromise the car’s safety or maintenance.

Regarding the headlight issue, a light bulb can unfortunately stop working at any time. In such cases, we always recommend that our customers contact us immediately, as we would have promptly replaced the bulb or provided a suitable solution. In this case, we were never contacted during the rental.

Our shuttle service operates 24/7, with a shuttle passing every 10 minutes. The parking area is located less than 8 minutes from Palermo Airport and hosts eight other car rental companies, making it a strategic and well-connected location.

As for the insurance matter, we firmly reject any suggestion of misleading practices. The requirement to present a valid credit card in the main driver’s name (with at least six months’ validity) is clearly stated in both our and our partners’ booking conditions. The customer did not meet this requirement. Therefore, the only alternative to proceed with the rental — instead of having the booking cancelled, as most companies would do — was to take out an insurance package covering the absence of a credit card. This was a transparent and optional solution, not an imposed or unfair charge.

Finally, regarding the return process, there was no confusion: our staff member was simply managing the return of two vehicles at the same time and was fully aware of each rental.

At Bringo Car Rental we are committed to clarity, fairness, and customer support — values we consistently uphold in every rental experience.

Avoid Bringo Car Rental – Worst Car Hire Experience in Sicily

We recently rented a vehicle from Bringo (BRINGO S.R.L. VIA ISCHIA 22, 90044 - Carini - PA) during our trip to Sicily, Italy, and it was by far the worst car rental experience we’ve ever had (reservation code: ZFIUA-PVPAO).

Upon arrival at Palermo airport, we discovered Bringo has no on-site desk, which was not communicated clearly at the time of booking. We received no shuttle instructions ahead of time, forcing us to make costly international calls and deal with non-English-speaking staff. This lack of transparency created serious issues, especially for our early morning return flight. Since their shuttle didn’t run early, we had to return the car the night before and pay out-of-pocket for Ubers both ways.

We booked a VW Polo or similar, but received a damaged Dacia Sandero with no infotainment system or CarPlay. The vehicle was in poor mechanical condition, frequently cutting out while driving, especially on the highway. When we reported the issue, Bringo refused to send a replacement and instead suggested we spend a day of our holiday at a service centre. Their email reply to our concerns was shockingly rude, claiming they were doing us a “favour” by offering service at all.

This company is unprofessional, dishonest, and unhelpful. I strongly urge other travelers to avoid Bringo. They do not meet the basic standards one should expect from a reputable rental agency.

Avoid at all costs

Palermo. There was pissing rain on my arrival so no chance to take any photos of a car or record a video. On my contract there were marked damages from the past and I agreed to the state of the car. All nice and smooth until car return. Young man tried to convince me Ive made a damage to the very bottom of front bumper. I answered him that this is not possible as the car was barely used and not driven offroad... Then he went to check on his computer and came back with their form on which there were different damages than the ones I signed on my contract [!]. So now I'm blamed not for a full bumper but only half of it! Not to mention we are talking about scratches of maybe 3 mm in random places underneath the front bumper. I wouldnt spot that on my own car. Anyways, I was told that cost of damage is 244 [quoted immediately] but because I paid highest insurance they will only hold my deposit of 200. I wish that was the end of the story. I was too tired to fight for 200 with the guy that doesnt speak no english so I was just about to let it go. I got onto their shuttle bus [as that girl below mentioned it is kind of safari trip]. Half way thru I received an email saying Thank You for completing return procedure and that my deposit is unlocked and will be back to me in 2-3 days. [?]

Ive got my deposit returned! Unfortunately this isnt the end of the story. Couple of days later my phone woke me up beeping. That was revolut app notifying me that bringo car rental is trying to charge me 200, then 150 then 100. 3 transactions in 1 minute. Thank god i dont keep any money there. I texted them on whatsapp asking why would they try to charge my card. Answer was that Ive made a damage. If I dont agree I can email some support@... I can email probably the same guy that is trying to steal money from my card. And this still not an end of the story!
Week later they tried to charge me again!
I have all the screen shots and emails if anyones interested. Absolute joke.

Gentile Cliente,

Cordiali saluti

Dear Customer,

Your review contains numerous inaccuracies and misrepresentations of the facts, to which we feel it is our duty to respond clearly.

The vehicle you rented was returned with damage to the lower part of the front bumper, which was not present at the time of collection and documented with photographs and a report. This is not the result of suppositions, but an objective finding, carried out according to the practice followed by any serious car rental company.

As is the case everywhere in the world, anyone who causes damage to a vehicle is required to pay for the repair costs, as clearly indicated in the contract you signed.

Despite the damage found, thanks to the insurance coverage you signed, the charge was limited to the amount of the security deposit only. This is a correct and transparent application of the contractual conditions, to your advantage.

Describing this as a "scam" or a "theft" is completely unfounded and defamatory. All communications are documented, as are the attempts to charge as provided for in the contract and carried out only after the damage was ascertained.

Regarding these charges, we would like to point out that no transaction was completed simply because there were no funds available on your card. In fact, therefore, it is you who caused damage and has not yet compensated him. We would have full rights to proceed legally and win the case, but we have chosen not to do so because it would not be economically convenient.

Finally, even if you have decided to publish this review under a different name, we know perfectly well who you are and what practice you are referring to.

If you believe you have been wronged, we invite you to contact the competent authorities: we are completely calm and certain of the correctness of our actions.

Kind regards

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE

VERY BAD and SAD EXPERIENCE, damaging for Italy's overall picture. The company seems also to be slightly cheaper in comparison to the expensive rentals at the airport. Well, now we know why. The shuttle from the airport to the rental was unsafe, overloaded and with no option to fasten the seatbelts. The rental car missed a radio, no USB etc. We have filmed the car upon pick up and return and could not notice any damages. Bringo was missing upon return (national holiday) and we were asked to just leave the car. So we did - after 3 days we were informed that the deposit has been unlocked. After 2 days I could see that another 200 EUR has been booked on my CC - apparently there was a tiny scratch, but nobody bothered to inform me about it. The car had many scratches like this, but apparently this one was worth 200 EUR (so the liability maximum) and needs to be fixed asap. Additionally the tiny dot might have been made after we have left the parking - Bringo did not comment on that.
Our overall impression is sad - ripping off tourists on details, the company clearly compensates the lower rental cost with its attitude towards alleged damages. NOT YOUR CHOICE, equally as whole Sicily and its driving habits.

Very bad experience!

Very bad experience!
Huge sums were subsequently deducted for alleged damage and cleaning. Fortunately, we were able to prove that the damage was already present upon pickup. Otherwise, we would have been charged over €700 for a small scratch. Additional costs were incurred for an allegedly necessary cleaning, even though we returned the car completely clean. Communication was extremely poor. I've booked with cheap rental companies before, but I would never book with Bringo again.

Damage not listed when picking up the car

When we picked up the car, we noticed that only about 1 in 4 of the visible damages were listed on the official sheet. For everything else, we were told to send pictures of what we saw. We tried to take picture of everything we could see, but did not take pictures of every angle and area. Hence, when we returned the car, there was some damage they checked with us. Some we could prove with pictures was not our doing and of others we couldn't since we hadn't taken a picture of that angle or area. We are therefore not certain whether we are responsible or if this damage existed prior to us using the car. In any case, it should not be the sole responsibility of the one renting the car to prove the damage. Furthermore in the contract it was stipulated that we'd get a full tank and had to return it as such. However, we got it nearly empty, and hadn't I taken a picture of the dashboard and the amount of fuel, we would've had to pay extra for that too.

Reply from Bringo Car Rental

Dear customer,

Thank you for sharing your experience and we are sorry to hear that it was not entirely satisfactory. We would like to clarify a few points to provide more transparency about our procedures.

Regarding car damage, it is common practice in all car rentals, including our company, to require customers to take photos and videos of the vehicle upon delivery. This allows us to offer maximum confidence to customers and to ensure that any pre-existing, unreported damage is taken care of. However, if the vehicle is returned with additional damage to that visible in the photos or videos provided at the time of pickup, we are contractually obligated to charge for the cost of repair. This is a standard process designed to protect both the customer and the company from any inconvenience.

Regarding the fuel level, we regret that the vehicle was not delivered with a full tank. Again, as you correctly did, the important thing is to take a photo of the dashboard to document the fuel level at the time of pickup. We know that it can happen that the fuel level is not at its maximum, especially when there are short gaps between rentals or when the vehicle is returned late, out of office hours. In these cases, we simply ask that the vehicle be returned with the same fuel level with which it was picked up, without additional charges.

We are always available to discuss any concerns or issues to improve our services. Thank you again for your feedback, which allows us to continue to grow and improve.

Sincerely,
Bringo Car Rental
