Just terrible

Just terrible. I wish I'd done some research before booking, but I used a price comparison site so assumed the vendors were all kosher. Not so, EZ Drive use all kinds of techniques to scam people out of their cash in the hope you cba to get a refund or have forgotten they're holding a large deposit. They have operated under numerous names in the past, so when things get hot, they dissolve the company and start again with a new one, leaving creditors out of pocket. With this in mind avoid the small claims procedure and get your bank to reverse the payment - refer them to posts online about whichever con trick they diddled you with.

Read This Before Accepting that 'Low' Quote

I took out an insurance policy in January as it was the lowest of the quotes I'd had, but not by much. However, little did I know that Hastings operate a very dodgy practice, where 6 months into your policy term the so-called 'insights' team will contact you asking you to verify information. Information you already gave them when you took out your policy. I then received a phone call and was subjected to a grilling in the police interviewing-a-suspect-style. I was asked how long I had lived in the UK. On my application I ticked the box 'since birth' as the period spent living in Ireland was of no consequence due to the Common Travel Area (CTA). The officer, sorry. 'Insights' person said this 'mistake' meant I'd incur an additional premium amounting to just under 50% of the original premium. When I pointed out the legal entitlements affored to citizens in the CTA he changed his line of questioning and asked where my income came from. ( I had stated I was retired). Lo and behold because I was living off investments and not a pension, I would incur an extra premium for that 'mistake' instead. After pretending to 're-calculate' he came back with the same figure: just under 50% of the original premium. I asked him how can the fact I am retired but living off private investments possibly increase my risk profile? I could not get an explanation but was told he could cancel my policy in 7 days if I didn't want my account debited. I'm taking it further, of course I will, it's shocking. But how many people just pay up to avoid the hassle or believe as its a bone fide financial body governed by English law and consumer legislation, it must be legitimate? They aren't and it isn't. Hastings Insurance are scammers in suits, that quote isn't what it seems, so go please, please go elsewhere..

Review of Big Yellow Self Storage

Who Said Moving is Stressful?

After a very stressful day, flying to London and hiring a car to move my daughter's belongings, it was a relief to get to Big Yellow at Kings Cross. First of all, it was easy to find, unlike everywhere I'd had to go to that day - what a relief! My flustered state quickly faded as the staff were immediately welcoming - offering tea, coffee or water - not to mention their confident reassurance that moving in would be an easy process. They're definitely on board with that whole 'moving is top life stressor' thing as it really was as straightforward as it gets.
After a few minutes finalising paperwork I moved my daughter's things into the spacious unit, this time with zero heaving as they've got trolleys, lifts, and a very secure system for getting in and out, so it was done in a jiffy. My only snag was I took my own padlock but couldn't figure out how to set the new code. Not to worry, as Rogerio, and even the store manager came to the rescue and quickly figured it out. I know I'd have been a bit annoyed as it was nearly closing time on a Friday afternoon, but they were upbeat and so helpful. I know I'd have been thinking 'why didn't this silly woman just buy ours for £2 more' ( I wish I had too!)
I'd highly recommend this business if you're looking for storage. It was a breeze. Thanks again you lovely people!

My Bad!

Since Christmas I haven't been able to call Ireland from the UK and was really peed off. After fiddling with the settings and finally managing to turn off 'hide number' it's working fine again. ( I gave Rebtel a bad review about it, so it's only right to amend it).

BEWARE. THIS IS A SCAM

As many people have stated below the same thing happened to me; paid 50p for a one-off pdf file and a month later had £49 taken from my bank. I did not consent to this obviously.
I've raised a charge- back request. Traders (or whatever they are pretending to be) are supposed to make charges clear at the point of sale. Without being informed of vital information no contract between you exists, so it's fraud. They set up a direct debit using your bank details.
I didn't even look at the email payment receipt for the 50p until I saw the £49 payment and went loopy. Total scam. Scummers. Should be closed down. Annoyed I didn't I check them up on Trustpilot. And apparently there are loads of these fake pdf scams doing the rounds. Tell your friends!
Uodate: We Pdf have requested more information via this platform yet have not replied to my email complaint.
But here's an uodate for you. The first £49 debit came 3 DAYS after the 50p payment, how about that! They didn't even wait a month. Thankfully I have now contacted the bank so they can't rob me again. I know I can get a chargeback but by rights you should be made to give people 10 x what you stole as an incentive to clean up your act.
