Long-Time EE Customer Overcharged After Contract End: Unfair Practices Revealed

I’ve been with EE for almost 10 years, but recently became victim of their practices which I understand have been now labelled as scammy and illegal by the government.
- My 2 year device+airtime contract came to an end recently but they didn’t reduce the cost nor they notify me, so I continued paying device part for extra ~1.5 months after I paid it off in full.
- Today I spent entire morning talking to EE support only to learn that this is how they operate normally and won’t stop charging me for device part, even after I paid off full price, unless I tell them myself to move me to a new airtime only plan…
- When I confronted them that they should’ve at least sent me an SMS or e-mail to remind, they told me that they didn’t because I opted out of ‘marketing communications’, which is totally ridiculous in my opinion.

I strongly believe situations like mine prove that EE doesn’t care nor respect their customers. So I’ve made up our mind to move my and my son’s contract to another network ASAP.

We value each and every-one of our customers, so apologies that you were still paying for a contract that had actually came to an end. We don't automatically change the pricing after the contract is over, although we should have either sent you an email or text as a reminder.

It's a shame that you're now looking to leave, however if you're set on your decision, we understand. It's been a pleasure having you with us, you know where we are if you need anything from us in the future.
