Not able to cancel reservation on website

Update: August 15, 2025:

I have finally heard from them saying that they will give me a refund, minus a small fee which I assume is for billing beck to me their credit card fee from the card company. I may revise my rating if I do in fact get a refund. I have taken the rating to 3 stars from 1 star, I will likely continue to use 3 stars, since their price was exorbitant compared to other options.

My review: Let me start by saying I really don't like writing negative reviews. Quite frankly I'm surprised to find so many positive reviews on this site when I've seen so many complaints and horror stories on other complaint websites. I'd just like to tell people here: Buyer beware.

I paid for a couple of their shuttles for Barcelona, not realizing that it wasn't a local company, but one based in London. Big mistake. This company is only a "middleman," if you will, and contracts with local companies. They don't supply the rides themselves. They use what they call "suppliers."

I found a cheaper rate elsewhere, so I set out to cancel. They have a 24 hour cancellation policy and I was well outside of that time frame for cancelling (two weeks). I clicked the cancel button and nothing happened. I didn't receive an acknowledgement that I had cancelled. In fact, they sent me another confirmation of the trip instead of a cancellation notice.

Frustrated after contacting them and not getting any help at all (one suggested I contact the supplier themselves), I contacted my credit card company and they are working with me. They will credit my account with what I was billed and told me I didn't have to pay for the transport, but what a hassle.

Great app for tracking what we eat

I have been using the app for 10 years because I wanted to improve my diet and track what I was eating. I like that I can track my weight from month to month and year to year. The app has literally helped me maintain a great weight, and I feel that I am eating the diet that is right for my body.

Review of AmeriGas Propane

Satisfactory

We just cancelled our service with Amerigas two days ago and they came out today to pick up their tank. We had had them for about 15 years at our house, about as long as we have lived our house. While would not say that this company is totally horrible, I do believe they could have been better in some ways.

One thing they did right was provide a clear explanation of every charge on a bill. The website where I could pay the bill was user friendly. Once an account was set up, I could pay the bill online without any hassle.

I used to like dealing with our local company called Heritage Propane, which was actually quite friendly and easy to deal with. I could call them on the phone and even pay the bill over the phone. They were a nice, small local company until they were taken over by Amerigas and I suddenly had to deal with a large and impersonal business with customer service agents from outside of the country. It is for this reason that we decided to leave Amerigas and sign up for service with a local service like we once had. With a company that answers the phone and doesn't speak in a heavy foreign accent. With a company where I can stop in at a local office and talk with somebody.

Amerigas is doing its part to try to keep customers from leaving them, with steep charges for doing that. They are billing me $300 for tank removal. When the men came to pick up the tank, they were quite happy that the tank was already disconnected and waiting in a very convenient location for them to pick up. They were here for all of about 10 minutes at most just loading a tank onto their truck. I asked for a discount since the tank was already ready for them, and they said it was unlikely that would happen. We will also be billed $120 for the privilege of having them come (a "service dispatch" charge). We were told that we would receive a refund on the unused propane. We paid $4.99 a gallon for the gas, but we aren't sure if that is what they will pay us.

They have consistently billed us at the rate of $4.99 a gallon for propane, which is quite a bit more than the $2.58 a gallon that is the national average price.

In the final analysis, I am not sure if I would deal with this company again and I would not advise dealing with them unless you want to be with them and no other company indefinitely. Leaving is expensive and you may not get the quality of customer service that you expect from a company.

Review of LeafFilter Gutter Protection

Not working as we hoped

We bought these gutters 5 years ago. We were given the impression from the sales person that they would never need maintenance. The salesman gave me a brochure with "real customer reviews." One reviewer in the brochure claimed he "hasn't been on the roof since." Another said: "I'll never have to clean my gutters again." We bought these gutters because of this guarantee.

One day after a recent storm, we noticed that our gutters were dripping a good amount of water. My husband climbed up on the ladder to have a look at the gutters and found some oak tree pollen pods on top of the gutter at the back of our house. We both wondered why these were on our "never have to clean the gutters again" gutters. We called the company and they said that for $95 they would come out and have a look at our gutters. My husband asked about their so-called lifetime warranty,and he was told that the warranty only applied for clogging INSIDE of the gutter, not what was on the outside. So in reality,my husband had to get up on top of a ladder and clean their so-called "never have to clean the gutters again" gutters and it's likely he may have to do this again at some point in time.

Please stop the deceptive advertising. These gutters are NOT self-cleaning. And everyone should know that if you do get leaves or anything else on your gutters, they claim they aren't responsible for the gutters not working as their sales brochure claims they will.

Ireland Tour

We recently finished the Gate 1 tour of Ireland. It advertises as 10 days, but it is not actually 10 days, and I'd like to be sure that people who are considering the tour understand that. Day 1 is for leaving to arrive in Ireland. Day 2 is for arriving in Ireland. Day 10 is for leaving Ireland to go home. That effectively leaves 7 days for a tour. I wrote to Gate 1 because the tour actually was only 6 days. On Day 9 there was no longer a tour bus driver. Gate 1 sent him home. Instead, they hired a local driver to take people on an "optional tour" to the Irish EPIC museum, which was actually within a reasonable walking distance of our hotel. If you didn't pay to go to this museum, you were finished with the tour on Day 8 and left to pay for your own transportation and planned excursion on Day 9. I told Gate 1 that they could have taken the entire group to a place like the National Botanic Gardens on Day 9 (our last day) instead of the museum. It was quite expansive and lovely, and it's free to enter. We had to pay for the transportation to get there. Ireland was enjoyable to visit, but Gate 1 needs to advertise its tours properly. "The tour actually lasts for 6 days unless you go on an optional tour on your last day in Ireland."

Review of Princess Cruises

Sky Princess

We recently got back from a Princess cruise in Scandinavia and the Baltics. It was a great cruise and we totally enjoyed our trip aboard the Sky Princess. The staff members were outstanding in appearance, work ethic, and friendliness. They genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs.The food in the dining room was great, with appropriately sized portions. We sat at the same table in the dining room every night and the waiters knew exactly what we usually liked with our food and service. This was actually our first time in staying in an inside room after years of sailing in balcony rooms. Our room had a lot of storage space with open closet for suitcases, a cabinet with shelves, and drawers near the bed and TV area. Embarkation and disembarkation were very smoothly completed. Entertainment was very good, but the music, as with any cruise ship, was way too loud. We left at the beginning of some performances because of the volume. I had to get my medallion fixed twice during the two-week cruise because it wouldn't open our cabin door. But our overall experience was great!

Customer service is lacking

I wish I could provide a separate review for installation vs. customer service. Unfortunately, that option isn't available.

As far as the quality of the product and installation go, I would give them 5 stars. The older guy who came out to the house to install the door by himself did an excellent job and cleaned up well when he was finished.

I am not at all happy with customer service. This is June 17, 2024 and we had our sliding patio door installed on March 27. When the installer arrived, he did not have the door that we ordered. We had asked for a door that opened from the right side, and a left side door was brought. They said that was the fault of the Pella Company and that they would order a new door. I told them that rather than wait for another door and to have the guy come out and create another mess and have our house wide-open without a patio door to just leave the door as it was.

Another issue we had was that the screen door that was sent with the patio door was designed for a right-opening door. Realizing that it was a mistake, the customer service person I spoke with said the correct screen door would be brought to our house on May 6. When the installer came, he had a right-side opening door, once again. It's hard to believe he didn't check that before driving all the way to my house.

It was now mid-May and I called Power Windows. I was informed that the installer would be here on June 7 with the correct screen door. The guy arrived on June 7 with the correct screen door this time. The problem with the screen door was that there was a gap at the top of it after he installed it. I contacted Power Windows again. I sent a photo of the screen door. I am still waiting to hear from them about a replacement.

One thing I have come to realize about these people is that they may get this done eventually, but they don't return my phone calls and it takes too long for them to correct mistakes. My husband agrees with me that if I didn't keep on them, we would be stuck with the same screen door.

Pretty dress, but thin material

My husband and I looked at a dress with short sleeves that we saw on their site. It was black, with pretty flowers. He wanted me to order it. I ordered it online with no problems. The item arrived at an expected date. I immediately liked the dress when I put it on. It fit my slim body very nicely, and was just the right length for my 5'3" height. The reason why I can't give it a 5-star rating is because the fabric is so thin that anyone can see through it, especially when I'm outdoors. I had to buy a half-slip to wear with the dress.

I'd like to buy more dresses from them, but I'm concerned that they may look too sheer as well.

Review of Gate 1 Travel

Not too bad for price, but...

I have gone on 10 Gate 1 tours. They have been reasonably priced, with overall decent service. The hotels are mostly fine. Usually, they choose at least one cheap hotel for the trip that might not be as nice as some of the others.

I was not totally happy with our most recent trip on land and the Rhine River. I don't usually write emails or letters to companies unless their product of service is either outstanding and I want to compliment them, or it's poor or something has gone wrong, but I felt compelled to write to Gate 1.

I will tell you that on our most recent trip there was a very sick woman on our bus who coughed and coughed and coughed throughout the entire trip from Bruges, Belgium to Paris. Long story short, nobody wanted to sit near her on the bus, and when our table asked that she not sit with us because she was sick, the tour manager just came over and shoved a table next to us so she could sit with us. We protested, so he moved her a small distance away from us.

I wrote to Gate 1, who told me that "half of the group was sick," which was simply not true. The tour manager told Gate 1 that he wanted to put her with us "to ensure group harmony." So, Gate 1, "group harmony" is more important than our catching an infection? Why couldn't the tour manager have told everybody at the beginning of the tour that it will not be anything personal if he or she suggests that sick people isolate themselves whenever possible? I told Gate 1 that I would never travel with that tour manager again, and since they seemed to make excuses for the tour manager's actions, I am seriously considering not taking any more Gate 1 tours.
