I have received a demand for an outstanding amount supposedly owed to British Gas from 3 years ago.
I have from British Gas that there is a zero balance on the account.
Having read other reviews about BW legal I ask
How many more potential victims will fall foul of these fraudsters before they are put behind bars?

Yes, you are right. This is a scam. They ‘auctioned’ our property in Italy via Facebook. They charge a registration fee to bid, and this is the scam. As soon as the ‘auction’ date passes they change their website name within the same domain and that is how they scam people out of their money. We had to inform the police.

We own and rent a property on the Isle of Wight U.K. We pay to advertise with a company called simply owners.com and also .net. This company does not charge the holidaymakers a fee, as they put the holidaymakers directly in touch with the owner. I was disturbed to discover that when I did a Google search and typed in Simply Owners, the top hit was a company called vacationrenter.com and there headed two words were Simply Owners.
When I did a search on their site I discovered that our property was listed with them without our permission and that they were directing enquiries to VRBO.
VRBO charge holidaymakers quite a hefty commission if you book through them.
Ie. you are not dealing with the owner direct, as their site suggests.
So Holidaymakers beware please.
