Appalling service by Santander Portugal (Lisbon’s Balcão Rua do Ouro)

Appalling service by Santander Portugal. I reside in Johannesburg. The Santander Debit Card expired in October 2023. Still waiting for a new card. On the 27th December 2023 a new card was issued but then I was told that the card was at RUA DO OURO / PRAÇA DA FIGUEIRA branch in Lisbon.

I spoke to someone at that branch on Friday (12th January 2024) who said that: 1) the card was at the branch and 2) they needed me to send an eamil notifying their Rua do Ouro branch of my address. The email was duly sent the same day (Friday the 12th January). I am still waiting for a reply.

I have phoned various numbers: 00351 213 244 850 and 00351 217 807 070 and tried different prompts. I have spent hours trying to reach someone.

Today is the 16th January 2024 and I haven’t received the replacement card and there is NO REPLY to my email. The past few days I have spent hours trying to reach someone. Abysmal service!

An update (8 March 2023): P.S. Interflora 'Portugal Spain' have apologised for the error and duly refunded me in full on the 28th February. They have also given me a 15% discount should I place a new order. They further informed me that they do not deliver in Azambuja (town in Ribatejo province). I was very upset with them because I kept getting notifications that the flowers had been delivered even though this was not the case. Really terrible. Anyway I have now received a refund (in full) and I am therefore changing my original 1-star rating to 3-star. To anyone reading this review and wishing to place an order with Interflora Portugal I strongly suggest you contact them first to ascertain whether they do supply the area you are interested in.

On Thursday the 16th February 2023 I placed an order. Later the same day I received confirmation that the flowers had been delivered: “A SUA NOVA ENCOMENDA FOI REALIZADA COM SUCCESS!” (your new order was successfully delivered).

Today, the 28th February, my cousin in Portugal has still not received the flowers.

I have sent numerous emails without any reply. My cousin phoned Interflora Portugal on 211 20 60 66 and was told that I "must go to the place where I purchased the flowers and from there they will phone their office in Spain". Everyone working at Interflora Portugal seems to be a big liar. I paid for the flowers online on Interflora’s website… what is this nonsense that I “must go to the place where I purchased the flowers?”

In summary: I paid for flowers on the 16th Feb, later that day I received confirmation from Interflora Portugal that the flowers had been delivered. Today the 28th Feb no flowers have been delivered, Interflora Portugal do not reply to my emails and they have not provided a refund.

Alex Napier Holland, on his review of Interflora Portugal on Trustpilot wrote: “Interflora Portugal don't deliver, refund, or reply to messages!”. You can read Alex’s full review on Trustpilot website.
Interestingly enough Interflora Portugal did not reply…
