Dining Chairs delivered very efficiently

We bought six dining chairs through Vinterior and we were very pleased with the condition of the chairs and the care in the packaging of them for transport. The chairs were quickly dispatched to us and we had no issues with the order.

GB Liners Cirencester provided excellent service for our move

GB Liners Cirencester handled our long distance move within the UK in a friendly, efficient manner and ensured that all our possessions were moved carefully and in one piece. They readily answered all our questions before the move and the people who actually packed our china and moved the boxes were always ready to let us know progress and how to pack the last awkward items. We would not hesitate to recommend GB Liners to anyone looking for a reliable moving company to handle their treasured possessions.

Great mapping application

I find the OS map app to be indispensable for when I visit new areas and need to find interesting walks for my dog. Either I create my own route or I look for an already available route that is of the length that suits us. The app is easy to use and is great for keeping you on the right track when you are somewhere unfamiliar. It also shows features of interest in the neighbourhood.

Ordnance Survey map app is so useful

The Ordnance Survey map app is a brilliant, useful mapping app. You can plan walks and store them on the app as well as look for ideas of walks from others. Being able to see exactly where you are means no more getting lost though sometimes the rights of way seem to disappear on the ground - the blame can't be laid at the door of OS for that. It also helps you look for good places to stay in the UK with good access to the outdoors.

Stalled SIPP transfer with Utmost

I have held a SIPP with Skandia/Old Mutual/Quilter and now called Utmost International since 2011. It is the worst investment decision I have ever made and the value of the pension is now about 60% of what it was in 2011, which is partly due to a crooked/unscrupulous financial advisor. The SIPP is administered by another company in the Isle of Man who also charge high fees. Therefore I decided to transfer what remains of the SIPP to a UK financial company and signed forms with them on the 8th December 2022. I was then sent forms in January by the SIPP administrative company which I returned and hoped that the SIPP would be transferred in a reasonable time. I am still waiting for that transfer to happen and when I contact these IOM companies I get excuses over deeds of assignments and need to take charges etc. I have contacted the IOM Financial Authority but apparently they will not act on individual cases but leave it to the companies to self regulate!! All this time Utmost and the SIPP administrator are charging me their fees for doing nothing! They have no incentive to make this transfer happen. It is daylight robbery. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. They appear to be in chaos and completely incompetent.

In reply to the comment from Utmost, I had already submitted a formal complaint to yourselves but I was told that as it is a SIPP it has to be the trustee who submits the complaint. As the trustee's interests are not necessarily mine this is an easy way out for Utmost. I have also contacted the Island's Pension Ombudsman to try to get this issue resolved.

Review of Baker Tilly

SIPP transfer glacially slow

I have a SIPP that is managed by Baker Tilly in the Isle of Man. In the current financial climate I have not been happy with the fees that they take or with the charges of the financial platform, where the SIPP is invested. Therefore on the 8th December 2022 I completed forms with another UK financial provider to transfer the SIPP out of the Isle of Man. They must have contacted Baker Tilly before the end of 2022 as I received a Baker Tilly form to complete on the 18th Jan 2023 which I duly did and sent back to them. Since then I have been waiting for the transfer in specie to be completed. I have received conflicting information as to whether it is Baker Tilly or the financial platform who is at fault but neither seem willing to complete this transfer as they taking money out of my pension to pay themselves for doing nothing. It appears that there is little financial protection in the Isle of Man for individuals so all I can do is keep sending angry emails to the companies concerned. My advice would be to steer well clear of the Isle of Man if you want to invest. I have transferred other significant investments with other institutions and this has taken two weeks at most so I do not understand why this has taken coming up to 7 months.

Review of HIES

Lack of support for consumer

I am also a poor customer of Daylight Energy that shut up shop at the end of February and will not respond to customer phone calls or emails.
As the company was affiliated to HIES I thought that HIES would be able to help resolve the situation. Firstly I was astonished that my contract (like others) was not registered with HIES and therefore it seems that HIES could wash their hands of us. The only advice they offered was to sit tight and wait for a liquidator to be appointed and some company then might be willing to take on the part-completed contract. HIES definitely gave the impression that they were not interested in the consumer and did not seem able to influence the MD of the company to either communicate with the customers or to press forward with the liquidation.

Great energy saving app

Very happy with app as my home display unit linked to smart meter has stopped working and had no idea of how my electricity usage varies throughout the day. Have had solar panels recently installed and this helps me target when to switch on appliances.

Review of Daylight Energy Ltd

Worst Nightmare of a Company.

They fitted solar panels in wrong place on roof, did not check that connection to inverter was wrong, fitted a different brand of panels to what I had signed up for without telling me up-front. Still need all certification for solar panel installation and have a battery fitted but they are not responding to emails or to phone. Are they still trading?
Have now had email (27th Feb) from them with certificates but still no news on battery installation. I paid my deposit in early August last year.
Update (1 March): have been informed by SSE that Daylight Energy had not submitted a DNO which they claimed to have done in August and also have claimed on the MCS certificate.
