One Insurance and Brightside

One Insurance and Brightside, worked diligently to solve a problem regarding my Buildings insurance.
My 'so-called insurer' had written to me saying that I had to pay them for the cost of sending a loss assessor, who turned up to investigate 'burst pipes', complained the he had to wait for 15 minutes, even though we had informed them that we be back home at Noon and NOT 11:45. We informed him that the problem was a leaking roof (after terrible storms and high winds). We sent him to an upstairs bedroom and he saw a massive, dripping, bulge in ceiling, which was on the point of bursting.
After agreeing that we could be covered for 'indoors damage', we took him outside so he could look at the roof.
He got a camera on a telescopic pole, and made a decision that the damage was 'wear and tear' to the poor state of the roofing felt. I stated to him that our roof (which is a semi with a dormer and was identical in make and design etc. to our neighbours).
I then told him that the two houses were actually made from Lead metal, and there was no felt on the roof.
He left in a 'hump' and the next day we were contacted to say the claim was declined and we would have to pay for repair/replacement ourselves.

We were unhappy with this, but went ahead and had a completely new roof fitted.

We decided that we would change our insurer/assessor when the current policy ended.

In the last few weeks, we have been sent letters from the insurers for the cost of the assessors visit.

This came as a bit of a shock, as the demanding letters and emails relating to the event were FOUR YEARS AFTER THE CLAIM WE MADE!!!!!

One Insurance and Brightside took my complaint firmly and eventually managed to get these ridiculous, ancient charges waived.

Just as a final comment, I this week received an email from these 'jokers' for an unpaid debt of £0.00!!!!!!!!!!!

I would like to say a big thank you to One Insurance and Brightside for handling this ridiculous state of affair.

Experience clear, but asking for a review so soon after the receipt of all the documentation, was to quick for me to read it all, so I cannot give a review as yet.

Made the experience clear and straightforward. However the emails asking for Trust Pilot arrived so quickly, I have not had time to read them all!

16 month fixed rate deal insures lowest possible costs and NO EXIT FEES!

Very easily, we have just switched to the 16 month fixed rate offer, to ensure we are not hit by the frequent Ofgem Price Cap changes. Octopus have confirmed that they will always keep their rates below any price cap increases anyway, but this method also means that if there are any price cap increases, we will always have the cheapest deal in the UK!

Excellent Price again for the best water softener product we could find

Excellent Price again, with the recent sales discounts. We have just purchased our 2nd 12 month supply of their 'softener' solution which completely removes the hard calcium and limescale. An absolute godsend. We use one of their 2.8 Litre (?) jugs and track our 45-day sachet 'life' using a calendar app. We are also thinking of trying out the other two types of 'granular' products, but we will check with Phox first about if we can mix'n'match them in a single jug, or need to run each 'batch' through three jugs or similar, and whether this is a rational experiment to try. But, overall, it knocks the socks off all other 'filtration', 'cleaning' and 'supplementing products we have tried. Well done Phox!

An Ovo representative who did a really good job, 1st time and correctly, showed good understanding

On this occasion, I was dealt with Adil, who sorted out an issue where OVO had sent details of a planned swap-out of our old SMETS1 Meters, TWICE! and then sent a third email saying that they had to cancel the appointment!

I contacted OVO to ask what was going on. I received a prompt response from Adil (Customer Care Expert) who explained the probable cause of these contradictions.

Having done so, He and I, set a date and 'time window' for the swap out to be performed.

As such Adil, performance his duties fully and politely, and apologised for the 'mix up' of previous communications. I found him to be one of the better customer facing employee, and would have no hesitation in working with again. Well Done Adil

Straight forward process, but...

Straight forward process, but there appears to be no way of amending the prescription (for example reducing the quantity of an item, due to forgetting tablets, and hence creating a surplus at the end of the 28 day cycle).

I can understand the patient not being allowed to increase dosages without GP discussion and approval.

I addition I get very confused, in that if my 28 day cycle covers 2 weekends, I need to order 10 days earlier, or if there is 1 weekend, then I need to order 7 days in advance. My GP states that I should allow 48 hours for their approval, and the MediPac literature says to order 7 days in advance. I presume that these will be 7 'working days'. Hey Pharmacist tells me that my prescription will be ready 2-3 days after reception of the GP prescription.

So I am placed in a position where I need to order on day 21, allow 48 business hours for GP approval, and then either 2-3 days (or 7-10 days) for the Hey Pharmacist and the MediPac process to take place. As I have medication to take first thing on 'the 29th day (that is day 1 of my new prescription), I am forced to order my prescription, wait for approval over possibly 48 'working hours', and then either 2-3 business/ or 7-10 days (depending on the number of weekend days) before my prescription is filled and ready for collection. The bottom line and worst case scenario is that I have to place an order 10 working days plus 48 working hours to ensure that I have my day 1 medication 'in my hands' at close of business on day 28.

I think my explanation is almost as complicated as the 'juggling' that is needed by me, to avoid my GP rejecting my request as "too early" and dependant on Pharmacy opening times, and the centralised "Medipac" bags made up, and delivered to my nominated pharmacy.

Extremely Good and Generous as Always

Extremely smooth transaction and performance. This is the second time have used this company, and I can only heap praise on them. The 'Pickup' man ('Dave') and his trailer arrived promptly, and was extremely courteous and talked me through the process. I was sad to see the 'old girl' go, but it had given me good service for over 13 years. The price offered was extremely generous, and I would have no qualms in giving them a great reference, and would use their services again. Great Team effort - well done all!
