Avoid AmeriGas!

Avoid AmeriGas, their pricing is outrageous. We just got ripped off paying $4.989 per gallon plus charges for HazMat and Fuel Recovery on the delivery. We also had to wait about 10 days for the delivery. I just called another local propane company and their price is $3.39 per gallon.

According to the BBC, there is a lawsuit in Michigan against AmeriGas for similar issues.

Review of Peak Design

The Peak Design Carbon Fiber tripod is excellent!

The Peak Design Carbon Fiber tripod is an excellent product. It features small size, sufficient height, good vibration absorption, high durability, easy handling, and light weight. Everything I want in a tripod.

One of the main selling points of this tripod is the minimization of dead space. The tripod is a 15.5 inch long, 3.5 inch cylinder when folded, so it fits easily into the side pocket of a backpack.

I'm a landscape and nature photographer, so I need something that doesn't weigh me down, and yet can hold my camera and 200-800 mm (FFE) lens. The Peak Design Carbon Fiber tripod does this and more.

Review of Austrian Airlines

Avoid Austrian Airlines!

We recently flew Austrian airlines to visit Vienna, Austria. We're retired and often fly internationally visiting various countries. As such we both are TSA Trusted Travelers. While the flight to Vienna was fine, coming home was not! Below is the message I sent to Austrian Airlines to complain about our treatment.

My wife and I went through passport control and security at Vienna airport to get to the boarding gate. Then later, for no reason and with no explanation, my wife was instructed to leave the boarding area. Several other people were also told to leave and follow someone from Austrian Airlines.

I started to accompany my wife and was ordered to stay behind. I refused and would have made an issue if not allowed to follow!

My wife was then subject to all but a strip and cavity search. All of her carry-on items had to be disassembled (phone and e-reader out of it's case, everything removed from carry-on bag) and were re-scanned. She was rudely told to sit.

My wife's possessions were confiscated after scanning. No explanation was provided. Everyone was playing serious security and when asked questions she was ignored or just told to sit and wait.
Wait for what? She was whipped down with strips of something, again, no explanation. By this point she was almost in tears. And, this sweet woman has never even had a speeding ticket! By this time I was ready to call the US embassy!

Eventually everything was returned to her and she was finally allowed to board the plane.

After arriving home, I sent the message above to Austrian Airlines in an email and they basically blew us off.

Don't subject yourself to such disrespectful treatment, avoid using Austrian Airlines. We have many airlines to choose from, choose those that treat their customers with respect.

Avoid Amerigas!

We have Amerigas because the original company we used was bought by Amerigas. I would really like to give them a negative review!

We called to ask a simple service question and the automated phone system gave us to the Sales department then when switching to the Service department, the call was dropped. We called back and navigated their automated phone system once again. The phone system asks what you are calling for and I said "I need service" I got sales again! I told the person that answered I need Service, and was transferred to Customer Support. Customer support wanted to schedule a delivery!

My frustration level was getting very high by this point. I said that we are having some work done on the house and wanted to know how much lead time they need for a service call. They insisted that we get put on the schedule! We told them we are not ready yet and only need to know how much time they need. They just could not understand.

After a shouting match we finally got the answer to our question. The sad part is we need to go through all this again when we are ready to do the work!
