Review of TradeSmith, LLC
I found TradeStops useful, so I fell for an ad that was touting Predicting Alpha. After getting 6 to 8 recommendations for action, I found it a waste of time. The hype and the ads turned out to be totally misleading.
The first shock was that this service was for 8 hour per day traders. I check my emails once per day or less. By then active subscribers have run the stock beyond the buy price. About one out of four times the stock did not run up and my order was filled; then the stock dropped and I sold at a loss.
The finaL shock came when I tried to exercise the "money-back guarantee." (around mid-September)
I expected favorable treatment, as is common in the Stansberry circle. But I was tricked. Although the "money back" was prominent in the ad, elsewhere there was fine print saying they could issue an IOU instead of cash.
In a long phone call protesting this treatment, the customer rep remained polite and kept repeating "I'm sorry you feel that way." My money is gone. Gone for good in my case.
TradeSmith strikes me as a morally corrupt company, difficult to trust without your own lawyers. Nor would I trust the trading advice of people who carry disdain for the best interests of the customer. People need to be warned.

This software is designed to predict the movement of a stock using current available date, but conditions can change which would affect stock movement. As stated in our terms on our site, "None of TradeSmith’s Entities shall be liable for any investment decisions based upon or results obtained from the Services and/or Content. Trading in investments involves risk and volatility, and any of the investments discussed in the Services may lose their value after purchase."
We are continuing to monitor our Predictive Alpha programs performance. Over the past few years, we have faced unprecedented volatility in the markets. For example, the war in Ukraine, the fastest interest rate hikes in the history of our economy and the speed of the market changes. These factors were unknown to An-E in its initial data sets. The good news - An-E is always learning from the available data, so when drastic changes happened so quickly, the model had some extra homework to do. The even BETTER NEWS – the model is learning faster and adjusting and we anticipate our results will continue to get better and better as An-E learns.
This customer purchased Predictive Alpha Prime through an online order form. I have reviewed that form and do see that the 90-day credit guarantee is mentioned: “If you’re unsatisfied with your purchase for any reason, simply call our friendly, U.S.-based customer care team within 90 days and they’ll issue you a credit in the amount of your purchase price to any one of our other incredible TradeSmith products. Please note, we do not offer cash refunds.”
All this being said, I have reviewed the specifics of this situation and have authorized a one-time exception to this refund policy. We have issued a full refund to the credit card provided which should arrive in 5-7 business days.
Review of Carbonite
I have been letting Carbonite back up my files for almost 2 years. Now I finally have a need for retrieving those files. I suddenly find that I need WinZip to see the actual files.
For years I have been using the free version of WinZip. It has always worked like a charm. But Carbonite says I need the WinZip version that costs money if I want to see my files. I am being forced into getting a new WinZip version.
Whereas the free version seemed to work flawlessly, the pay up version is a monstrosity. I could never get it to install properly in my latest Windows. It seemed to lock up my computer in endless do-loops, always going back to start over.
Worse yet, my computer slowed down to a crawl and became really really useless. I erased all the WinZip files and Carbnite files; now my computer works again.
Why would Carbonite force me to waste money on this "upgrade" that is worse to deal with? How many kickbacks from WinZip to Carbonite?
I wish I had all my money back. Including money wasted on WinZip.

Review of Carbonite
Free versions of WinZip have been around for years. Yet when I try to retrieve MY OWN DATA from Carbonite, it forces me to buy a new-fangled version of WinZip. And that has been a disaster. Too much claptrap, slowed my computer down to a crawl, wouldn't let me use WinZip anyway after wasting $50 to get it, locked up my computer into endless loops saying "free trial has expired." I uninstalled WinZip and Carbonite and the computer is like NEW again. I want my money back for both programs. Will I ever get it?????
