Brilliant service from start to finish
We decided to try Purple Bricks after a couple of (what we believed to be) low valuations by local estate agents (£425k and £360k 🤔) and quotes for marketing equating to more than £5k (1%+VAT). Also, a friend of ours had recommended PB after they had successfully sold a house through them
On June 3rd we had our virtual valuation meeting with PB agent Kath Taylor who agreed with our view that the property was worth £450k. We signed up for their middle tier service which gave us access to Rightmove, a professional photographer, a floor plan and 360 degree walk-through video etc. for about £1k. The same day we received a date for the photographer visit (June 9th) and links to the anti money laundering service. By June 10th Kath had put together a draft advert on our PB page which we were able to edit and upload additional photos. Despite Kath having a few days off she continued to deal with all our requests and changes, often late at night. By Friday 13th signage had been received and we were ready to go with a superb advert that really did justice to the house. Within 15 minutes of approving the advert it was on the market on Rightmove and other portals. By the evening we had two viewings booked for the Sunday (15th) and one for the Monday (16th).
Within 10 minutes of the end of the first visit we had our first offer of £430k, which was increased in stages to the full asking price of £450k by 5pm which we accepted (we did not want to initiate a bidding war). Everything was done through the excellent PB app and while we were offered the services of a PB sales negotiator we were happy to do this ourselves. Since then we have been offered legal support and after-sales care by a PB expert.
In summary, the process was brilliant from start to finish. The agent Kath Taylor worked tirelessly and was always supportive, responsive at almost any time of the day (over and above our expectations) and couldn’t do enough to help us. The PB diary, messaging and editing tool is excellent, along with the live analytics (number of views, clicks each day etc). Also, we sold our house within 48 hours for £25k more than the highest local estate agent valuation and saved more than £4k in fees so are nearly £30k better off as a result! That’s worth 5 stars in my book
