Staff needs to change or be trained; support leads to frustration

The HeyAbby OG Pro comes with a built in UVB & IR diodes. I switched to Pro mode on the app so I can change the main light scheduler. I discovered there is no UVB or IR light scheduler.

I asked for them to have the app updated as in auto mode these are set to a hidden schedule. It took about 3x of misdirection from the HeyAbby support staff before they decided they will not add this feature which should have been included from the start and ended the conversation by saying they can't meet this demand.

Celina was trying her best to help me and my situation over the weekend. Then Monday came and I'm back with Kayla who has made it known that they won't do anything for me. Seems like they are mad at me for the negative reviews. I'd be glad to change the reviews for each if they resolve my problems appropriately.

(cameras malfunction by having a visible light during dark cycles and I was sent subpar nutrients, both of which they failed to replace or provide a solution for)

If you're reading this HeyAbby staff, you can still make it right and get the reviews changed. Until then, any problems I have will be voiced here, every time.

Regarding your request to adjust the UVB/IR light schedule in Pro Mode, all suggestions for product or app enhancements are submitted to our hardware and app engineering teams for technical and strategic evaluation. These requests are not decided by individual support agents. Every request must be reviewed to determine if it’s reasonable, feasible, and beneficial for the broader community, and prioritized accordingly. At this time, we are not making custom changes to accommodate individual preferences.

As for your other concerns, our team has provided full explanations regarding the BudCam LED behavior and nutrient batch. We’ve investigated thoroughly and, based on internal reviews, found no defects or quality issues that would justify a replacement under warranty.

Our support team always aims to help, but when a request falls outside of what’s technically possible or policy-supported, we have to be clear and honest.

customer support is absolutely horrendous

The customer support is absolutely horrendous! I've had the OG & OG Pro for a few years and it does what it says but if anything goes wrong you're at the mercy of the HeyAbby support staff!

I've had multiple issues and most of the time they try to help you but the way they go about it is incredibly frustrating! They will tell you that you are wrong and something else is the issue, normally something that doesn't cost them anything.

-pump, screen, & sensors have failed and stopped working, had to beg to have a replacements under warranty for each one, over several support staff agents

--you are locked into their software app. there is no manual override of anything. fixes take a long time and often come back just as broken.

--purchased two smart budcams. the first one worked great out of the box with no issues. the second one came with the issue of a huge light that comes on randomly when your grow is in it's dark period leading to problems with the plants. i asked them multiple times to fix it and they broke the first one by programming it to have a light come on at night and now it also always has the led indicator lit up during night cycles! I ASKED FOR A REFUND BECAUSE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY FLAT OUT REFUSED STATING I COULD JUST UNPLUG THE CAMERAS AT NIGHT IF I DON'T LIKE THE LIGHT ON!

--nutrients are a mixed bag. sometimes they are perfect. other times i have gotten some that have kick started some brown version of root rot. most recently purchased 2x subscription packages and both nutrients were subpar and made the water an extreme neon yellow as well as smelling like cat urine. THEY REFUSED TO REPLACE $150 OF NUTRIENTS PURCHASED FROM THEM.

I want to love the HeyAbby but the staff is too much of a pain to deal with it and the high prices they ask for. it's so sad to see them drop the ball so hard. only leaving two stars because the HeyAbby is a good product even with all the terrible support staff.

UPDATE: See what I mean! The reply says it all. AGAIN THE YELLOWING FROM THE NUTRIENTS IS EXTREME AND CAUSED THE PLANTS TO WILT AND WITHER. I'VE USED HEYABBY NUTRIENTS EXCLUSIVELY FOR 2 YEARS NOW AND THAT ISN'T NORMAL. I ALREADY FIXED THE PROBLEM BY CHANGING THE NUTRIENTS BECAUSE THAT WAS THE ISSUE!
i'm updating the rating to 1-star. support staff doesn't read and rather make their own stuff up. if you go over their reply you'll notice that not once did they offer to rectify the situation of the BudCams or HeyAbby Nutrients. so done with this company, seriously

2.A drooping plant with browning leaf tips

After a full internal investigation involving our quality control and supply chain teams, we can confirm that there has been no change in the formulation of our nutrients. The Gold nutrient is designed to range in appearance from white to yellow, which may cause yellow-tinted water. Batch-to-batch variance is expected and does not indicate a formulation problem. We take all potential quality concerns seriously because if there were a real issue, we’d need to test the batch and ensure it doesn't go out to other customers. It’s not as simple as replacing one package—it’s a matter of product integrity.

As for your plant, based on the photo you sent, the symptoms suggest early nutrient stress, pH imbalance, or high water levels—all common and easily correctable at this stage.

We've provided recommendations:
1. Follow the feeding schedule in the Hey abby app with the correct stage-specific dosage.
2. Make sure the water level only touches the bottom of the grow basket
3. Keep pH levels between 5.8–6.2
4. Ensure good airflow
5. Send us a picture of the roots so we can rule out root-related issues

We understand how upsetting it is to see a plant struggle—but when emotions take over, it’s easy to misdirect frustration. Our goal has always been to help, not to “blame” or “avoid cost.” Our support team helps hundreds of customers daily, and their only priority is to help growers succeed. The engineering team, similarly, doesn’t deal with pricing or costs—only technical troubleshooting and efficient solutions.

Hey abby is a smart system, and Auto Mode is designed to simplify the growing process for most users. For growers who want more control, Pro Mode is available, but please understand that also means you take on full responsibility for managing the system—including grow stages and light schedules.

Great product and the company makes…

Great product and the company makes things right if anything goes wrong. Recently had some air pump issues that Kayla promptly sent a replacement for! Easiest way to grow discretely and in a small place! I recommend to anyone who's ever wanted to grow cannabis with ease!

UPDATE: I wasn't going to share but let it be known that dealing with the staff is such a pain. it took a lot more effort than I let on to get the pump when really it should have been simple and straight forward. a lot of times they bring out my anger and then they do what's right. just fyi, support staff is hard to deal with and they actively try to not replace things that fail.

The product is fantastic and does what…

The product is fantastic and does what it sets out to! Grown some dank with these! the OG Edition is great and I just got the pro version. I would say that communication with support can be rough but they do try to remedy any situation you ask of them. They have replaced physical parts and fixed parts of the app that malfunction. Careful, these devices are addictive...

UPDATE: i made this comment in the past being humble but truth is the support was terrible as it took a while and "proof" was necessary. support staff is really good at making a person upset. I won't take stars away from this but be cautious as the support staff is the worst part of HeyAbby

I wish I could give Moonpay 5 stars but…

I wish I could give Moonpay 5 stars but I have an issue with them over-pricing the current value of ETH. I get you guys need to make money but I'd prefer it if you just make the fee apparent like the rest rather than portraying the current price of ETH higher than it is. Other than that, this is a great service and can recommend.

***The reply support sent didn't address the issue. If ETH is at $3,000 then why am I'm charged at $3,100?

they really make sure they get their…

they really make sure they get their cut. expensive fees and it doesn't include ethereum gas so it costs more just to get your crypto. was expecting $100 of ethereum in my wallet but only received $95 because they didn't include that in the fees, if i would have known that i would have went elsewhere. if you can avoid this service, do it, they're out for your money.
