Always pleased with Weschenfelder…

I have bought items form Weschenfelder on numerous occasions and have always been pleased with the quality.

This is my second purchase of their salami kit - I was very pleased with the results of the first - which was my own first attempt at such an 'exotic' sausage.

Massive Price Increase - much cheaper elsewhere

Agent was fine and tried to be helpful. However, price this year was a massive increase and nearly twice what I could get satisfactory cover for from another reputable provider. So, after several year's with Staysure, I am no longer a customer.

As I am sure you will appreciate, there are multiple factors that can impact the cost of a travel insurance policy. These include for example the age of a traveller, their medical conditions, the medical treatment costs in the country of travel and the type of policy i.e. Basic, Comprehensive or Signature.

Staysure is priced competitively within the travel insurance marketplace and we continuously review our products and pricing to ensure that the company remains competitive at all times. Switched from Virgin to Sky

We switched from Virgin to Sky this week. This involved two engineers visiting the property: the first (and Openreach engineer) to route the external cable and the second (I believe they were Sky, but may also have been Openreach) to install the broadband router inside the house.

Bothe were punctual, polite and friendly and cleaned up after themselves. The work was neat too. Really couldn't ask for more.

Review of Hostinger

Great Sales and Support Teams

After being with BlueHost for many years I have now successfully migrated to Hostinger. BlueHost's platform was stable and served me well, but their business practices often left me frustrated and, at times, fuming. Unfortunately, due to complexities in my site I couldn't migrate elsewhere (or so I thought), so I was at their mercy.

At renewal, BlueHost annoyed me again and so I decided to look again at the possibility of migrating. I had a call with the Kiara from the Hostinger Sales Team and she was able to reassure me that migration was possible - and Hostinger would do the migration for me.

I went ahead and bought a four-year deal (if it didn't work, I could get a refund within the first 30 days).

The migration itself was not pain free. There were problems. However, I found Hostinger support really vey, very good. I would have said excellent but for the fact some problems could have been avoided had they given me a little more information.

Despite the problems, with Hostinger's invaluable support, I can now report that my site is up and running with them. So far, I am a very happy customer (let's hope I feel the same at renewal :-) )

Review of Bluehost

So pleased to have migrated away from BlueHost

I have been with BlueHost for many years but I was always annoyed by the way it was necessary to haggle at every renewal or face a significant price increase.

This annoyance turned to anger when, mid-contract, they told me my plan would change from unlimited storage to a size too small for my needs - unless I upgraded. Had they done this at renewal it would have been bad enough, but mid-contract was IMO unscrupulous. And they gave little notice, leaving me panicking as I considered options.

My site has some complexities that I believed meant migration to another host was not practical. However, it is renewal time again and, once again, BH have messed me about on pricing. This motivated me to look at the possibility of migration again. I spoke to Hostinger Sales. The reassured me that migration was possible and that they would undertake it free of charge.

Based on their business practices, I'd have rated BH 1 star. Since the site actually ran well on their platform, I've increased the rating to 2 stars.

I am now happy to say my site is up and running on Hostinger and I can finally cut my ties with BlueHost.

Pre-Existing Medical Condition Complications

This year our travel plans were more complicated than usual, due to having two trips to the USA as well as the normal travel to France. This gave us two challenges:
1. The high cost of adding the USA trips (the price quadrupled)
2. A pre-existing medical condition that was not on the standard lists.

The first item could be mitigated by taking out multiple policies across a range of insurers, but the second point was going to make dealing with more than one company a headache.

I called Staysure sales and spoke to Dominic. He was very helpful, getting us the cover we needed (including the medical condition) at a price that obviated the need to deal with other companies.

I have used Parcel2Go many times

I have used Parcel2Go many times. Whilst I have had issues, that has always been down to the carrier (mainly UPS and ParcelForce) . Parcel2 Go themselves offer a great interface that allows you to access often discounted prices - and the ability to track the process of your orders is better than most carriers' tracking systems.

Disappointed with Staysure this year

Disappointed with Staysure this year. Waiting time on the phone was around 40 minutes. The first agent's system froze and he promised to call back - I never heard from him. I had a moan on FB about this and was told I would get a call - and hour later I was still waiting. Finally, four hours later I have completed my transaction - and the last agent (despite another long call wait) was great.

Nice smooth and quick process.

Whilst the prices are what they are - and you'll either accept them or not - the actual process of recording and sending the package to MM was very straightforward and they kept me well informed on progress. Once delivered, their payment to me was quick.

Great Perseverance from Customer Services

I had something of a challenge with my renewal due to Staysure's computer systems lacking certain flexibility. I made two call to Staysure's customer services and I was very impressed by the effort both ladies made to accomodate my wishes, and to work around the uncooperative systems. Whilst the first call didn't resolve the issue, the second (handled by Margaret O'Neil) eventually did. Both ladies were incredibly nice, patient and professional - a real credit to Staysure.

Price was good and the overall process, whilst a little complex, was ok. However, the instructions didn't match the contents (e.g. nowhere to stand the phial), and the dashboard stated results needed uploading, despite having received a successful upload message.

Good price and good service

Whilst not the closest test centre to us, there was not a truly local one so we elected for the rather pleasant drive to East Midlands Airport as Collinson were by far the lowest cost option I had found.

We arrived VERY early but that was no issue. Rather like the vaccination centres, the process was highly efficient and we were processed quickly by the friendly staff.

A good experience.

Efficient and good VFM - almost perfect

Booked through Halfords. Was pleasantly surprised at what looked like a great price for a stop/start car battery with a 5 year guarantee. Chose to have it fitted at the house as the battery was kaput and could well leave me stranded if I'd driven to a store (had needed to call the RAC out earlier on the day ordered). The (very reasonable) fitting price was the same regardless of whether at store, home or elsewhere (e.g. office).

Booked an appointment for the next day. Comms was good regarding ETA . Battery was swapped out and the old one taken away (at no extra charge) for recycling.

The removal of the battery did generate a range of error messages on the dash. The gent who fitted it said I'd need another mechanic to come out with the appropriate computer (disappointing that the first mechanic didn't have one).

The second guy came out the following morning - as it happened, no computer was needed; just a full-lock turn of the steering in both directions with the engine running. A little embarrassing and a shame the first mechanic was ignorant of this technique. Still, in the scheme of things, still very satisfied overall.
