Itv x haa to be the worst streaming…

Itv x had to be the worst streaming service i have ever used. The amount of adverts is just insane. If you don't watch a programme in one sitting you have to go through all the adverts yet again. It is slow, clunky, there didn't even appear to be a pause and resume. It is difficult to know how it could possibly be worse.

Online to Ulster bank -what a pathetic experience

I have been round and round the houses trying to setup an account attracted by the 5.2% interest promised. The web pages don't work, the terminology randomly changes from one bit of information to another. You go round an endless loop trying to get it to work and there is no help line - only Cora - chat - another waste of time. Don't expend any effort applying - find something better to do and a company that has a working online presence!

Online access very slow to setup and…

Online access very slow to setup and clunky generally.
Opened a savings account online. The security side of it is horrible to navigate and a bit like going back in time 5-10 years. (You have to enter lots of memorable info and put in selected characters from your password. Pretty near impossible to get right if you have long random passwords!) You can pay in money immediately but it takes up to 10 days (post) to get access to your account online. Wish I'd not done it now.

Used to be good but no longer.

I have used Quidco for years but now find they miss sometimes major amounts and quite a lot of small ones. Because of the long delay between purchase and cashback it is a lot of effort to keep on top of it and I had stopped bothering.

My recent big miss was an insurance purchase with a cashback of £28 a year ago. That missing £28 caused me to look back over the last few months and there are a lot of missing items that I didn't get the cashback on. It is impossible to claim on the insurance purchase as it was via Quidco's own compare tool and the cashback was the reason I chose that purchase.

I am now going to cancel my premium membership with Quidco and in future ONLY use them where the purchase price was the best - ignoring any cashback I may or may not get.

Very poor experience with fixed rate…

Very poor experience with fixed rate savings and no communication whatsoever. Put away 5k for a year at 4.5% fixed back in may 23. A couple of months after that normal savings went up and I was getting well over 5% in easy access savings - ouch. There was no way to get the money back from Shawbrook till the year was up. The year ended approx 8th may 24 but Shawbrook didn't tell me - just transferred the 5k into an account paying 0.1%. That little glitch has cost me over £80 in interest I could have got from my normal savings account. Will I touch Shawbrook again - definitely NOT!

13/6/2024 Shawbrook have replied saying they emailed me about the account maturity. I never received these emails in inbox or spam folder. It still stands that I lost over a month at 4.8% (Instant access 4.9% account less 0.1% Shawbrook were paying) which is over £20 alone. That's on top of the loss because the fixed saver turned out to not be competitive. My view has not changed.

We spend well over 1000 per year but I don't want to go back again

We spend well over 1000 per year - sometimes a lot more - mostly at our local (Ilkley - yorkshire) branch. It is out go to for nice bits of food - especially when we feel like treating ourselves. We nearly always get our Christmas food from them.

This is about to change.
Yesterday I picked up a basket of food - about £33 worth - but managed by accident to pick 2 of the same items one of which had a very short date. I went straight back in with the item and receipt (about 40 minutes later) and was told that it is now their position that they won't accept returns.

I asked to speak to a manager and an even younger (I think) lady came across and also refused to do a return or replacement. They were not particularly nice about it either. We are left with a meal costing £6 that is very short date (today) and a very bad impression of M&S. The meal is probably going to waste.

I wonder if I can alter the M&S advert 'It not just any poor customer experience - it's an M&S VERY poor customer experience'.

We are very disappointed long term M&S customers but if it's up to me only - we won't be setting foot in an M&S store ever again.

Scam/fraudulent charge on paypal account by Packlink. Paypal refuse to sort it

I am a long term Paypal user and its mostly been Ok until very recently.

A spurious deduction appeared on my paypal account by Packlink - the ebay default delivery service. There was no item linked with it, no delivery address - just a charge on my paypal account. All the expected recent packlink charges were there (I checked very carefully) - but this was an extra one. I tried to raise a claim with Paypal. This went around in circles because I couldnt' produce evidence of the original transaction. That was the point -m there was no original transaction, Packlink just helped themselves. It was a spurious transaction amounting to a scam. The amount was small (£3.18) but a principle is at stake here. Paypal eventually refused the claim. I have had packlink removed from the Paypal account but I now no longer trust Paypal and will be abandoning them as soon as i have alternatives in place.
Be warned and check your transactions carefully.
