Worth every penny

We ordered a large hippo bag and paid up front for collection when there was an offer on to get rid of soil and other garden rubbish. We didn’t want to use it straight away but you get about 6 months in which to use it. The bag was delivered to our house which was handy. Then we actually filled it about 3 months later at a time that was convenient. Arranged collection and they just came next day while I was out, I didn’t even notice it going! Whole process was easy and hassle free and saved me many trips to the dump and didn’t have to mess up my car. Would definitely recommend. Not particularly cheap but definitely worth it!

Vile, rude bar maid.

Went in the S and L in Weymouth this afternoon (sat 16 Aug) for a drink with family. I ordered and paid for 2 pints of coke with no ice. The barmaid put about half a pint in each glass. When I asked her to top it up she point blank refused and said that is all I would get if the ice was in there! I was absolutely gobsmacked as I had basically just paid approximately £9 for 2 pints of coke and received 2 halves of coke for this price. I asked her again to top it up and she actually turned her back on me and started serving the customer next to me. Thankfully a man serving behind the bar saw what had happened and came over and topped them up for me. I have never before had this experience in any other pub; if you ask and pay for a pint of coke with no ice you get a pint of coke with no ice! Disgusting way to treat your customers.

Review of Premier Inn

Abysmal

Whitbread appear to be running this chain of hotels into the ground. They are becoming a total joke.
I started using a particular Premier Inn regularly to visit family about 5 years ago. Back then they had a great car park, check in was 2pm, no charge to check in if you arrived a bit early, rooms were clean, room rate was usually between £50-£70 per night even in the summer, if you had any queries before your stay they always answered the phone and there was a lovely pub/restaurant.
In the space of 5 years all of the above have changed for the worse. The car park is managed by Horizon (see their reviews) so I no longer dare park in it, check in is now 3pm and quite often the rooms are not ready by this time, £15 charge to check in early, rooms are filthy and mouldy, room rates in the summer are now up to nearly £300 on some nights, they never answer the phone, and the pub/restaurant is abysmal (it is not even open some days).
I have reached the end of the line with them.

Useless

Useless. Order was dispatched over a week after being placed. A pair of shoes for a party (had to buy other shoes as these didn’t arrive on time). Phoned helpline TWICE to cancel the order before it had left the warehouse. Was told BOTH TIMES the order had been cancelled and a refund issued. Just received a text telling me my shoes have been delivered to store for pick up.

Badly packaged delivery

Ordered a pair of knee high women’s boots to be delivered to store. I understand that you don’t deliver them in a box but I would expect a reasonable attempt at packing them so that they arrived in a decent condition. This was not the case. Both boots had just been folded in half and squeezed into a plastic bag that was way too small so now they are all bent and creased. Will be returning.

Very disappointed in John Lewis

I ordered an expensive electrical appliance on line. Attached to the order confirmation email was a note congratulating me that I was able to claim a £50 e-gift card with this purchase. However, when I attempted to claim my e-gift card they refused to honour it as apparently this promotion was for on line orders up to 4th June and I ordered on the 5th June. They said that this email regarding the e-gift card had been sent to me in error. I contacted customer services fully expecting them to apologise and allow me to claim my e-gift card anyway as it was their mistake and that is the sort of service you would except from John Lewis; their brand is pretty much based on 100% customer satisfaction which is why people pay more to shop there. But they have point blank refused to honour this e-gift card. I feel very disappointed as this is really not the level of service I would expect from John Lewis and will think twice about paying their prices in the future.

Appalling service

I have been using premier inn regularly for years. Recently the prices have rocketed and the standards have plummeted. Check in is nearly always late. Housekeeping and maintenance are now atrocious.
Even trying to call any of your hotels is now impossible. You list the numbers for every hotel on your website and when you call up it gives you the option to press the hash key to speak to reception. Up until about a year ago, the phone was usually answered. Now it just rings and rings and no one picks up. This is not an isolated incident, it is happening at every premier inn I have stayed at in the last year (I usually ring in advance to ask for a top floor room as they tend to be quieter).
I am going to stop using premier inn as I feel they are just no longer worth the money. Who in their right mind is going to pay £150+ a night for a room that is dirty, check in is late and you are kept up all night by people stomping around above you.

Christmas suprise completely ruined

Great! I arrive home with the kids this evening and there is their Christmas present I ordered just sitting in my porch!! No cardboard/paper wrapping on it; just literally the product with a delivery label slapped on it! Hardly a suprise for them on Christmas morning now. It’s going back. Never ordering from Amazon again.

I had a parcel delivered yesterday at 19:02 (delivery was recorded on door camera). I was actually in at the time but the delivery man did not bother to knock on or ring the doorbell.
I also have a covered porch which I leave unlocked with a sign on the front saying ‘please leave parcels’ inside porch. He also chose to ignore this.
He just dumped my package on the ground outside my house where it remained all night in the rain until I discovered it when I left the house this morning.

No longer worth the money

Premier Inn prices for 2024 are a complete joke. I have been using Premier Inn for years and stay at them about 8-10 times a year. The service/cleanliness on the whole is appalling: over the years I have experienced (on several occasions) late check-in due to room not being ready, no towels/toilet paper in rooms, dirty towels, footprints on bedding, dirty underwear from previous guest left under pillow, mould on window sill/ceiling/headboard/shower, noise from above/next door, aircon broken during a heatwave, light switch falling off wall, blocked sink, I could go on and on…..
But I have put up with all this crap because I figure ‘you get what you pay for’.
But now the Premier Inn hotels I generally stay at have all gone up in price from approximately £100 per night to £150-£190 per night.
NO WAY I WILL BE PAYING THIS!!!

I am an owner of a holiday cottage in the Lakes. The agency that managed our cottage were taken over by Travel Chapter. Since this happened we have noticed a significant decrease in bookings and increase in overheads. It has now reached a point where it is no longer worth our while continuing with letting our cottage as a holiday home so we have given notice and are going to rent it long-term instead.

Recently bought some black and white…

Recently bought some black and white check men’s pyjamas for my teenager. Absolutely appalling quality; the material rips very easily just with normal movement. They already (after just a few weeks) have a rip in the trousers and in 2 places on the top where the buttons are sewn on. Not fit for purpose.

Thanks for your useless reply; it is exactly what I expected. Who realistically keeps their receipts for a Sainsbury shop for several weeks? As usual Sainsbury wheedles it’s way out of any responsibility and makes it the fault of the customer for not keeping their receipt.

Poor customer service

When you have a complaint/problem it is nigh on impossible to get hold of someone that can actually help. The website sends you round in circles. And when you finally do get to speak to someone the customer service is terrible. A complete lack of goodwill towards customers, they really don’t care whether issues are resolved leaving the customer happy or not. No interest in feedback.

Absolutely horrendous

Absolutely horrendous. Only gave one star so that I could write a review. Bought 2 pairs of walking boots for my kids. After just 5 days of walking, one pair had 2 shoelace hooks ditatched and the other pair had 3 hooks ditatched. Both pairs of boots now unusable and I am stuck in the Lake District with no boots for my kids. Utter rubbish, don’t waste your money!!!!
