Derby - Upper abdominal & pelvic scan (female)

Having needed a more recent pelvic scan following a year wait on a gynae referral and being informed that it was a 14 week wait for a non-routine scan, I looked at going private for my own peace of mind. I was generally surprised how in-expensive a pelvic scan cost privately and booked up straight away. To have your abdomen scanned it was not much more so thought may as well get a general health review being a 50 year old with a history of endometriosis and PCOS.

The centre was easy to find and they have parking to the rear of the property accessed via the next street. The instructions on the website were clear with that however this could be made clearer by stating the signage for the car park. The actual car park entrance is unclear being it is not marked up as Ultrasound Direct.

I had a male sonographer, which did not bother me having had multiple scans over the years with some of those done by males. Friendly, informative and pleasant manner to keep you at ease. Compared to a NHS type scan, I was more than happy and in fact quite impressed. They take their time, explain and you can have a good visual of the screen and say what parts where. After the scan you get a detailed summary and if want you can download your photos. At those prices, who would want to go via NHS again, especially as you can be treated awfully and they tell you nothing. If you are in urgent need of a scan or just want to check up, highly recommend for such a small cost.

Incorrect delivery due to App address listings

Another incorrectly delivered item - with item saying delivered and no photo. Generally the service has been fine and drivers are friendly. However, your address book on the App continues to remain significantly out of date. This is an easy fix if your IT just gets the latest version from Royal Mail. Having moved nearly a year ago to a new build and developers are now off site, incorrect app details is a huge issues and frustrating when delivery drivers cannot read a basic address. This has been raised several times since August 2024. Both Evri and Yodel have the correct addresses available from their App.

Dobbies Order says delivered but NO ITEM

Item says delivered. But had no one knock at door and no item left. Email confirming delivery but no picture available and there is no ability to contact to question this.
Expensive garden item as well from Dobbies Garden Centre

Whole House Fit from Advisor David, 118727

Having recently moved into a new build 3 bedroom property with no curtains or blinds or poles etc; I decided I wanted hassle free service and all I had to do with select and pay.
Booking an appointment is easy and seamless. Before my appointment I did do some research online for ideas and what type of fabrics and colours which certainly did help when it came to selecting.

David messaged the day before to check appointment and time. And he arrived as expected. David was very friendly and knowledgeable. Was easy to express what I was looking for and he would give his opinion and advice which was re-assuring my ideas were going to look nice. The hardest part was choosing the fabrics, though David would go off and measure the window frames whilst I choose the next one.
Price wise was actually less than I had imagined. Then just had to wait a month for them to be made. Fitting day arrived and David booked out the whole day to do this. David was great he worked non-stop and it was a long day! Great attention to detail with steam cleaner coming out for a great hung finish.

I have to say, it was my first time using Hillarys and I'm pretty blown away and impressed by the whole experience. My curtains with fittings and blinds look lovely: Lounge window have double pleat curtains from ceiling to floor on track fitted to ceiling and a cream voile roman blind for some privacy. The voile roman is lovely and you can see out but cannot see in. Kitchen/diner has a roman blind in window and a wave track grey voile curtain at french doors. Hallway window is a white voile roman. Back bedrooms matching roman blinds. Front main bedroom is ringlet curtains with pink voile roman blind and ensuite bathroom roller blind. Even a boring roller blind has a nice elegant finish across the top. All are well fitted.

I will definitely use their service again if needed in the future. Who wouldn't want to!? Choose from own home, Hillary's measure, make and fit. Plus you get 2 year guarantee

Derby Boundary Moor Gardens

My sixth purchase in lifetime but was my first experience of buying a new build and was relocation to a complete new County (Sussex to Derbyshire). I completed and moved into their Byford style property on 15 August 2024.

Tiana and Jheve in the Sales Office at Boundary Moor Gardens provide excellent customer services - very friendly and helpful. When you live 200 miles away, they were accommodating with teams calls or sending photos to help with buying and during legal process especially when could not get up to site very often.

Once property chosen and placed your deposit, Tiana kept in contact frequently to ensure the legal process was ticking along. This part was actually the most frustrating part for me; the only negative to Taylor Wimpey was their legal team. The response and actions was just far too slow even my own solicitor got frustrated with the lack of response. When we wanted to exchange contracts and no response was being received, had to wait for Sales Office to open (2 day wait) to find out the situation - which was the 2 members on my account were on annual leave with no handover to anyone. It caused a 2 week delay in achieving exchange of contracts. One lesson I learnt was "exchange of contracts with notice to complete" which TW were pushing for but because of the delay, my buyers then wanted a completion date. Which then caused further delays. Thankfully the residents have a Facebook page and whatsapp group so was easy to get hold of the Site Manager to find out the house was actually finished and was waiting for a completion date. Worked out well in the end as and Tiana helped with pushing the legal team forward to get the exchange of contracts on 6 August and completed on 15 August.

Move day went well and completion done at 1130. I arrived on site at 1200 and removers arrive about 1215. We were allowed keys about 1230. There is a bit of a delay from completion time to TW legal team confirming to sales office for release of keys.

House had had a deep clean before removers - I did make a comment the deep clean should be offered after removers have been.

I did pay for my own PCI and had a home snagging survey. Minor issues which TW quickly resolved. Sales Office and Site team are really friendly and helpful which is great when you live on a site that is still under construction. Great community here and lovely location.

PCI & Snagging by Brian D (Derbyshire Area)

I was recommended Premiersnag by the residents of Taylor Wimpey new build estate in Derby. On review of their website I decided to book the Premier Platinum Survey which covers a pre-completion survey (done at time of exchange of contracts) and a snagging survey (done after completion). The package itself is great value for money compared to some other sites I came across. I decided to go with a PCI for piece of mind as my house build was completed 2 months ahead of their build date and had seen some horror stories on Instagram.

Arranging the date for PCI is a bit challenging as you have to liaise between two parties and I could not be present due to distance of move. Brian checked in with me just before the PCI to confirm who meeting. And the PCI report was sent soon after. Thankfully only minor issues.

After completion, I did have to check in with Premier snag about when to book the Snagging survey by - ideally this should be clearer either on website or by email especially as you pay upfront for the whole package. However, this was easily scheduled at my convenience for a Saturday morning. Brian checked in with me again the day before.

Brian has a friendly manner and is easy to talk to. He checked with me first if had any concerns since moving in and if the builder had corrected any of the issues. He spent couple hours going round and checking. We had one issue of concern due to a high damp reading in one corner which was talked through and what to tell builder as nothing visible was coming up and thermal readings okay.

Report received quickly and Brian was very considerate and showed concern by checking in with me after to ensure the damp element is taken up by builder.

Highly recommend Premier Snag for your piece of mind when buying a new build.

Great website, service and healthy plants received.

Received my second order yesterday and would have given 5 stars had the delivery notification been better but I have fed this back separately.

First order done in May 2021. Thirteen plants £140 spent. Arrived in two large boxes and extremely well packaged. All plants very healthy and have took to ground really well. Really pleased.

Second order of 5 plants received last night (16 June 1830) (yet to be planted) but all look really healthy.

Website is friendly and easy to use with a great choice and useful search function. Email confirmation of order prompt however delivery dispatch notification could be better.

I choose this online company as based in England; unlike some of the others (just see my previous review of another online gardening supplier).

This will be my go to place to order garden plants.

Some plants arrived not as expected & awful customer service

I did an order on 1 April 2020, which arrived several weeks later which could not be helped because of lockdown. However, three of my plants where not as described but literally little twigs in pots with no growth and these were not exactly cheap plants. Thankfully two took affect and have slowly grown. But one did not and so I used their customer ticket service to report an issue (now 6 months ago). The ticket was closed a couple of months later with no action or response. I had to raise another ticket to get it reopened with no apology other than previous standard response. To this date I am still waiting and my follows ups go unanswered. This is absolutely disrespectful to their customer with complete disregard. Buy at own risk.

Updated 18/01/2021: Finally got a human response to ticket and I got a satisfactory refund. Just a real shame it took this long to resolve.
