Review of Harkness Roses
This is a company to avoid especially when arranging to send a rose as a gift, They choose cheap delivery companies that often subcontract to local drivers who overload their small vans causing damage. Our rose was broken in many parts. The company wanted photographs and details so clearly this happens regularly. We said no thanks.
If you want to risk it then specify DHL/UPS/DPD or Parcelforce.

We didn't renew our policy they were 20% more than others .It seems because we did not advise them that we were not renewing they are charging £60.65 for admin. Never pre-advised this as a condition, we did not tick auto renewal. How can they do this?
So when going with Darwin remember the cancellation/non renewal fees which are "clearly" hidden in the conditions somewhere.

9th December
Received today letter asking to call them and if not "debt" will be passed to Debt Collection Agency. My solicitor advises not to have telecons but ask for an explanation in writing. There is no address (why??) on the letter to ask this so hope this gets to Darwin.
We want proof that we agreed to a "fine" if not renewing policy PLEASE.

Review of Switchcraft
I wished I looked at Trust Pilot years ago. We've had exactly the same experience as others i.e our bank details being passed to Outfox who connect and overcharge.
To quote Switchcraft April 14 2024
"We do try to keep people well informed ahead of each switch and proactively close accounts where contact details seem outdated, such as if an email is not delivered. I'm very sorry for the distress caused in your case."
This just not true Switchcraft (who did not contact at all) had our details from 15/20 years ago and passed bank details BUT when challenged they had not checked as their emails were sent to a company where I worked 15 years and does not exist anymore!!

Avoid.............a bunch of "crooks"!
They obtained our bank details from a third party and then installed the energy connection without our permission.
The were 20% more expensive than Octopus and on "cancellation" they insist on charging for 2 months as per their "conditions" which I am not going to pay.
"Please rest assured, we would never obtain bank details from a third party or initiate any switching process without your explicit consent. The only way this could occur is if the switch was started and the bank details were entered by the customer themselves".
This is not true after 2 months of disputing direct to you we then had 6 months of bullying by debt collectors who have now given up. You claim that because you connected to us without authority that is a contract...not so.
You obtained our bank details from Switchcaft a company we had not dealt with for many many years and you just went ahead. As soon as we discovered that a direct debit had been set up without our approval, the Bank cancelled it.
You provided had a month of illegal overpriced energy which incidentally I reluctantly agreed to pay but will not pay for 2 months "as per your conditions" which I have never seen or agreed to.
