I have a Tower gas BBQ that is still…

I have a Tower gas BBQ that is still within its 1st year of warranty and, it developed a fault on the 4th of April, and still no satisfactory response from the customer service team today 15th May. I wrote to them on the 4th April informing customer support the BBQ was not heating up properly and I had ran all the checks from the web e.g. check the regulator, jets etc., and four weeks later they sent me an email suggesting I carry the very same actions I already pursued. Since then they have ignored my emails. This has resulted in no BBQ during the hot weather and the bank holiday weekends. This is very unprofessional and I would not recommend buying their products to anyone. Rgds Graeme

Under the Consumer Rights Act of 2015 it is the retailer where you purchased your product from who is responsible for the warranty of your product for the first year after purchase - you purchased your product from eBay.

Here at Tower we always endeavour to help any customer who contacts us with an enquiry and we have attempted to assist with your enquiry via obtaining specific information and offering troubleshooting techniques.

Rather than referring you back to eBay our Team have taken ownership of your enquiry and will see your enquiry through to a conclusion.

It only leaves me to apologise the the slight delay in responding to your enquiries during this busy time as well as your perception of the efforts we have undertaken in a bid to assist with your enquiry.

Landmann have stopped trading in the UK, there are very limited spare parts available, and customer service is referred to Germany who are unresponsive and respond to emails in German, therefore, not a good idea to purchase their products.

I received a letter from this company…

I received a letter from this company using my first initial only and my surname stating I owed money to the HMRC. My account spent time checking to certify I did not. I phoned the company and waited 45 minutes for them to answer, and it was evident from the moment I gave my date of birth I was the wrong person. Asked the representative on the phone to send a letter confirming I’m not the person and they refused do this, even after writing me two letters stating I owed the HMRC money. I asked the individual to reconfirm this was the end of the matter and was assured, “oh yes your details will be removed from the file”. The SMSs from this company continued and then came the automated call, “you must phone us regarding your debt”. Phoned again, and once more my date of birth confirmed I’m not the right person, and once again they are going to be removed my details from the file. This is their core business and they cannot manage the most basic requirement, such as delete a person’s details. Gratifying to know the HMRC are using our taxes to pay this disorganised company. It should be mandatory that any company such as this working on behalf of the HMRC should be ISO certified to ensure this behaviour cannot be allowed to take place. Can’t wait for the next SMS or automated message. And there is still more, on their webpage they state you can send them a fax, not an email, and surprise, the fax does not answer. And yet more, I have now received a letter from Advantis (the one they said they could not send) stating I am no longer of interest. Note this was written 2 days before the last time they harassed me again. I get the impression the right-hand doesn't know what the left-hand is doing in this outfit.

Re. the reply below, how can you maintain ISO compliance with this performance?

What a shambles

What a shambles - I took advantage of the 1 month free trial of the Navigator and within days quickly used up the 50 x IM Messages monthly limit. My company then sent me the license for the enterprise version and when activated a message came up 'do you want to sync your inbox with the private version of Navigator'. Following no warning of the any consequences this pulled across my previously used limit of IMs which meant it has no use until the 1st of next month. Customer services could not reverse the process and said the product would look at the issue. When pushed for a date as to when the product team would address, apparently this is an annual review. Navigator is not cheap, and it turns out for the money this product is not a good piece of design.

Poor quality build, reliability and service.

Poor quality build, reliability, and service.

I bought the Period Wireless Round plinth doorbell with Honeywell Home chimes at a cost of £80+ in November and the bell push failed within 1 day. The company did not replace the bell, but instead sent me a part to change in the back of the bell push, and it took 3 days plus the weekend to arrive, during this time I was without a doorbell. The first part they sent was the wrong radio sender, therefore, I had to wait again for the replacement to be sent again.

Latest issue with the push that is less than 3 months old, the ceramic button has dropped out. I called the company and there is a message we are open from 09.00 till 17.00, no days stated, and then the call clears, with no facility to leave a message. I assume this means they are not open for calls on a Saturday.

Again, poor quality build, reliability, and service.

We are open on Saturdays until 13:00 but we are unable to take calls as there is just 1 member of staff in dealing with the shipments that need to go out that day. I have contacted you on your mobile to resolve this issue the same day you reported the issue but there was no answer. I have now emailed you to state we will do anything you feel is the correct cause of action. I don't feel this is poor customer service that you are stating but I understand you are frustrated at the issue which we can hopefully resolve for you now in a timely manner once you contact my mobile number I have left you.

Sub standard product design and build quality, and customer service.

We ordered a cue carrier from this company for £180+ and from the outset, it was clear the build quality was inferior, and placing our expensive cues in the carrier would result in damage. The company refuted our claim immediately, one minute defending the case based on their reputation and then that of their supplier and using statements such as 'what I am I comparing it to' - bad quality and design is there to see, I don't need to compare it to some other product in the marketplace. Not once did they show any real interest in understanding the issue.
The company refuses to cover the cost of the return postage, even though our videos and emails clearly show there is an issue we are in the right.
As per the other one-star reviews after many email exchanges, I had to endure a call with an arrogant male representative who tried his best to deflect any useful conversation with inflammatory remarks.
This company does not grasp the idea of good customer service results in new custom and how many repeat customers they have lost as a result is down to them.
Last comment with Mr rude and arrogant, ‘I will take this matter up with PayPal’, and his response, ‘good luck with that, I don’t care’.
In my view, this company is not worth dealing with and should be avoided.
Latest update - Paypal managed to get the company to agree to the return of the item and the refund of the postage, and consistent with one of the other posts, we have received the refund for the item, but not the post. The company has now been reported for fraud.

Not a good service by any means ...

We used this company for the first time, and as a result, my wife ended up with ice burns on her hand. Other companies use cool gel bags to keep the meat chilled, however, Kezie ship their meat packed with dry ice through Parcelforce with is a prohibited material, and there is no warning on the box to say it contains the substance, obviously if there was Parcelforce would not accept the shipment. When the box was opened a bag of dry ice had broken open and my wife picked up what she thought were ice cubes, but was in fact dry ice at -60 degrees C, and this immediately burnt her hand. On further investigation I found a piece of paper buried and screwed up in between the meat and under the broken ice bag labelled ‘Important Information About Dry Ice’. I spoke to Kezie regarding the above and was met with responses such as ‘we have been operating this way for years and never had any complaints’ and ‘so, what do you want us to do about it’ (not said in a supportive or positive way). So, there you have it an accident waiting to happen, heavens know what would happen if a child grabbed at this hazardous substance thinking it was ice.
This is interesting regarding dry ice which Kezie appear to totally overlook …. the dangers of handling dry ice. Handling dry ice is dangerous due to its extremely cold temperatures that can lead to frostbite and tissue injury. The carbon dioxide vapours in an unventilated area are also toxic. If prolonged contact with dry ice occurs, do not rub the affected area. Remove clothing that is not frozen to the skin and place the affected area in a warm water bath. Avoid direct dry heat.

The restaurant delivered part of the order, the rest was cold

The restaurant delivered part of the order only, one main meal was missed completely and the remainder was cold. When I phoned the restaurant the person who answered the call was swearing at a colleague. I explained the issue at 22.34, order already 25 minutes late, and the person committed to send the missing and replace the cold items straight away. Phoned the same number 25 minutes later and asked where the replacement food was and was told the restaurant was analysing video footage as they believe the food was cooked, and the replacements had not been processed. Agreed to cancel the entire order and receive a full refund for the entire order. Spoke to Just Eat this morning 1st August via chat and the representative seemed incapable of tracking was was written in the chat, kept asking the same questions over and over, and then wanted to credit my Just eat account with the amount for this missing items. He then turned it back on me to deal with the restaurant, although my contract is with Just Eat. Both companies Just Eat and
Rotana American Diner, 73 Sheilds Road, Newcastle, NE6 1DL are a shambles and won't use either again.

Trainline is a shambles and adds no…

Trainline is a shambles and adds no value when travelling, especially if there is an issue during the travel. Their staff have no idea of the working of the Trainline APP or the workings of travel on the trains, their core business. In summary, their approach is, we have your money and the responsibility for your travel stops here and every issue is the fault of the train operator. My travel was disrupted and I spent over 2 hours talking to Trainline and getting zero assistance. Trainline can't even escalate an issue through their own customer services without totally misrepresenting the problem whilst not meeting any of their call back commitments, and to make matters worse, they resort to being rude. As previously stated, in my opinion Trainline is shambolic and using this service adds no value and is complete waste of time.
