Animed let me down

Animed generally supply high cost pet goods and I expect them to be on the ball as they are a regulated pet medicine supplier. I have years of ordering from them but my last order was accepted with delivery within 5 working days (as is normal for their free delivery). I needed the specialist dog food so when it didn’t arrive after 9 days I checked and it was still being processed! I emailed and they stated that because 1 item on the order was out of stock they had not sent any of the items and had not bothered to email me to state if I deleted the out of stock item they could then send the rest! I emailed them again to remove the extra item and as they had been poor on customer service plus missed their delivery date they should send the order priority at their expense. The response was that they are not allowed to change the delivery method even though they were late. Overall poor customer service to not contact me about the delay, no acknowledgement they had let me down, inflexible about putting things right.

Arada Inset Cassette Stove Issues

I have had a Arada inset stove for a year now and when it is running it creates a good output that burns efficiently which it very pleasing. However as a user I have two observations you want to be aware of…
1) The door only opens through 90 degrees before the door hits the stove frame. I can live with this but the catch that keeps the door closed extends out 3”/75mm from the door and is a hazard when cleaning and stoking the fire. I have skinned my wrist on this catch several times already.
2) While the stove draws well in use when lighting or stoking smoke enters the room rather than going up the chimney. The stove was installed by an experienced HETAS qualified fitter to the manufacturer’s instructions so I am left thinking the airflow design to deliver DEFRA efficiency standards has limited the draw when the door has to be open. The stove is very shallow back to front with a large height top to bottom that makes it more prone to smoke escaping. I suspect if the top-front of the fire box had been extended down an extra 25mm this might have helped the draw up the chimney keep the smoke in.
If you can live with these issues it is a stylish efficient stove.

Review of Jorvik Tricycles of York Ltd

Helpful firm to deal with

Original order seemed easy and it arrived quickly. Price from Jorvik was cheaper than buying from anyone else. However turns out I ordered the wrong charger as the correct one wasn’t listed. Tash was great, sorted the delivery firm to bring the right one and swap it over plus got the web site updated to add the correct unit. Very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Swap over cost £8 which was the only downer.

Why I am switching from Calor Gas

I have been using Calor to supply bulk gas for more than 2 years. I regularly have to wait more than 30 minutes on the phone to arrange a delivery/talk to someone. Whil
e there staff are great Calor have missed delivery appointments more often than meeting them with the worst case requiring me to limit my gas use (that is for heating). Additionally their account web site was down for about 5 months in 2023! Finally they bid more than other suppliers and justified the extra cost as due to their "superior" customer service.

Dismal customer support and no deliveries

Joined Calor and while the switch went OK that is where they stopped for a month. My LPG has now dropped into the red at 10%. As my account hasn't been setup on-line I cant communicate other than by phone. Saturday I spent 2 hours waiting on the phone before I had to give up - they did call back but I was out. Monday I rang again and after 3-4 minutes the the automated system ended the call with a Good Bye. Finally I got through to someone via head office who tried to help but would not commit to when I will get a delivery - didn't seem positive. Seems it might be a cold Christmas and New Year.

Parcel force bookings over 10kg need to be taken to big post offices

Parcels2Go are usually awesome but today I had a large heavy parcel where ParcelForce were the best option and the website stated I could drop it off at any of my local post offices. Unfortunately many PO only accept parcels up to 10kg. Parcels2Go should know this but didn't get it correct on the the website so having paid I had to take it 6 miles each way to the local city for the post office that will take heavier parcels! They are still a good provider but need to ensure they hit the details.

In the rush on building material before lockdown the Wickes click and collect ordering system was a simple, fast and effective way to secure the materials I need while avoiding crowds so I can get on with my work during the lockdown. Really fast, secure and effective system from start to end.

New LED R80 light bulbs for my old R80…

New LED R80 light bulbs for my old R80 fittings that are recessed in the ceiling so I didn't want the hassle of new fittings. LEDSmiths' price beat others on line so I went with them despite not having heard of them before. The order arrived quickly and was well packed. I simply screwed in the bulbs and the new light was bright and the colour I would say is similar to day time light without being too harsh. I am really very please with LEDSmiths including their communication. Six months on And the bulbs are as good as day one hence a positive review.

Review of Pharmacy First

Great value and quality drugs from Pharmacy First

After developing an allergy to our family dog I needed a regular supply of Piriton at an affordable price. I haven’t used an on line pharmacy before but Pharmacy First had good reviews and the price was fantastic compared to the high street. The order of generic Piriton arrived quickly, in excellent condition and are working fine to ensure i can happily live with the dog around the house.

The Accor and Novotel web experience is rubbish as I loop to different web pages that require i input the same information multiple times. After several attempts and various prices I did get a price and a booking. Thankfully the hotel is better than the web site
