useless

They really are just awful to both landlords and tenants. My landlord could have gotten a tenant much earlier for a higher rent than I was paying, but they cost him the extra income for absolutely no reason.
I gave over two month notice (8th Oct), and told the property manager that I'd be leaving much earlier (11th of Nov), so the property is available from that point onwards if they find a renter, and that I will continue to pay the rent until the end of the notice period in accordance with the contract with the previous agent until 19th of Dec (unless of course they found someone earlier, so the landlord is not at a loss).
The property manager being the useless that he is, advertised the property for the 3rd of January! So not only is the landlord not getting the extra income he would have gotten from the increase in rent, the property is now empty from the 20th Dec until the 3rd of Jan for no reason! I gave my notice early so they can take charge of the property, check it (while I'm paying the rent) get it ready for the market and advertise it asap, there was absolutely no justification for the loss of income to my landlord. Now I've been paying for 2 months for an empty property including council tax because these people are incompetent. Could have advertised the property earlier, but chose to be utterly useless and unhelpful. The only reason my landlord is tolerating their nonsense is because he's far away and doesn't want the hassle of finding another agent.

If you're a landlord, look out for your best interests, find a better agent and have a direct relationship with the tenant, and you're likely to find better ways than these useless people.

Needs improvements

Rather disappointed.
These are the pros and cons, but ultimately I wouldn't use them again.

I called them initially early november or end of october to do two things
1) Install a new alarm system
2) maintain the CCTV cameras,
they said they'll call me back, it took a week for that to happen. When it happened, the appointment was only for the 18th of December, which got cancelled the night before, as the engineer was off sick. Understandable, but they need covers as the job is whole day, so you need time off from work. Esp that it was very close to xmas, I got another appointment for the 23rd (quite an awful time, but I was leaving the house over xmas period and needed this sorted out before I did, the area isn't safe, and a house few doors down was broken into over xmas).

The engineer came, and did the alarm installation, nice and polite guy, got the new system setup within the time period. Unfortunately, the second job couldn't be completed because my recorder was down, I was hoping he can still tell me if the cameras are working by either coming with his test equipment that he can plug in instead of my broken one, or get up to the cameras and check. He didn't come with test equipment, nor with a ladder to the cameras, so that was a job paid for but not done!
He said "the guy over the phone said he'll call you", he didn't, so I emailed, and the response was "oh we'll call you after speaking to the engineer", its now been nearly 2 months, nothing back about it, and I still don't have working cameras. Frustrating.

Police knocked on my door on the 27th of December asking if they can see the footage, I had nothing working, so I had to turn them down. Quite upsetting, as the house that was broken into is only 3 houses down.

What's worse is that I don't have control of the new alarm system they've setup, if I need to replace the pin number, I need to call them, give them the new pin number for them to set it !!!! Tell me how insecure my security system is !! Its like sharing your password with a stranger online. If this is in MY HOUSE, I need to have full control of my security system. Until they fix this, I wouldn't recommend their alarm system. With their poor aftercare on the CCTV cameras, I wouldn't recommend them either for that.

Excellent

From the moment Ben called (patrol ID is 63844), it went really smooth and quick, he arrived just as the app said he'd arrive (within 15mins), he parked securely, was very quick at replacing the tyre, showed me where the issue was and told me what to do next when I take the spare to the garage. He's also delightful and friendly! All in all, much quicker than the service I've had with AA once the guys arrive.

customer service can improve

I think they can do better with customer service, they withheld processing a £53 pounds order over 2 pounds.

I made a mistake on the form wasn't sure where to put the radius figure, I put it in the wrong place, which meant I was short 2 pounds of the actual payment (I looked at the form after and I could have avoided the mistake if I wasn't rushing for timelines, the radius is supposed to be written in a text box after, rather than on the form). I didn't realise that at the time, so I sent them an email saying, I really need this by the 15th, as mum is returning from holiday and I bought a kitchen for her, this would be the last piece I add, would be great if it can be delivered then (proposed date was 18th). They replied back saying, there is something missing from the order and before they can send it to production i need to tell them the radius for the corners of the table. I sent it to them immediately (their email was on the 9th). Then the following day 10th they said, "you're short of 2 pounds we won't send it to production until you pay the difference". I honestly don't remember the total I paid, I think I paid around 53 at that time initially? I thought, are these people kidding? I paid 53 already, you think I will back off of paying 2 extra pounds? My priority at that point was delivery on-time, I made the order on the 6th, and we're on the 10th day and still the order hasn't moved anywhere. I'd have given them 5 stars if they said "while we need the payment to be cleared, we'll send it to production but please send pay the difference by calling this number, otherwise this will delay shipping"; it would have avoided any further delays and still they're not short of money since I won't receive my order without paying. But no, their level of customer service is black and white. I get them protecting themselves from people changing their mind, and most places wouldn't process your order without full payment including adjustments, but for a custom product, the option of changing your mind shouldn't be on the table and the terms and conditions should put it in your face, once you order, you can't change your mind.

Product arrived on the 16th. Still within the timeframe their automated estimates (18th), but wasn't what I hoped for (15th). I think a good customer service could have met the 15th despite the error I made.

The product is good, it can also do better with accuracy. I asked them for 1.5cm radius, the product is 1.2cm radius.

Very pleased, the fabric is stunning, the colour did look a bit different on screen, which I was nervous about, but what i got was exactly what I hoped for (in fact better). I suggest sampling, but I didn't have time.
The delivery and shipping was super fast. Will absolutely use again if I want to upholstery something

I wish i read these reviews before i ordered, what a misery, i cant collect my parcel because bose didn't send me the pick-up code, the order arrived but the code didn't, im traveling and these guys aren't working on the weekends. Their website has no idea the order arrived. The very initial problem they didn't send my property number they just sent the flat number so ups couldn't deliver, i called ups and they resolved it instantly. But they can't help with the parcel pickup code because that's with bose

can't handle self employed papers

Feel sad to have lost a place, not sure where I'm going. I don't think they know how to handle tax return papers or anything to do with self employment. They sent my accountant an email, they got the paperwork on the day, the status of the system moved from "review in progress" to "final checks in progress". Then I received an email asking for the same papers again, and now the status is again "review in progress" I uploaded them to the system, but no news until I lost the property.

If they can't deal with self employed, they should put their hand up immediately and tell us, then that way the agent can just close the case quickly.

First time I fly easyjet

First time I fly easyjet, I didn't think to check reviews, we were only going to Glasgow and it is just a quick long weekend. So we didn't care to dig into the airline assuming it is the standard stuff. But boy we were wrong, we took a Friday flight 30th of September EZY885, was supposed to take off 18:05, but only took off around 8:45 or something like that, thankfully, we had nothing planned. Then on the way back on the 3rd of October Ezy6414 @ 9:15, they decided my standard bag was too big for the cabin, because apparently on Feb2021, they shrunk the seats and the cabin size even more, and charged me 24pounds for it. That bag was half empty, I could have brought a smaller one had I known. Why are they going against standardisation? They actively want to catch you, the lady there could have let it go, it's not like that money goes to her pocket, but some ppl enjoy letting others down. They must hate their jobs immensely (customer service is difficult, esp with money grabbing management that are paid 6digits compared to ppl in her level with 1.65bn revenue). My guy friend is 6ft, he had his legs squashed there, I feel terrible, I didn't think he might need leg space. This is discriminatory against men to have to pay extra just for being an average height for a man.

I'm so appalled by this agency, and their evil attitude towards tenants. Most of the good reviews come from landlord benefiting from Parkers clauses against tenants or from tenants who have only just signed a contract.
1) I had refused to sign a contract with parkers after they acquired SJ agency, because prior to that (2018) I nearly signed a deposit agreement and realised they haven't declared all their funds in writing when I asked before I sent the deposit. The deposit agreement was full of red flags, including the hidden cost, and even worse, they wanted it signed with them keeping the agreement, so I have no time to read through it carefully, I needed to read and sign there and then (you can feel the shady behaviour). Why would an agent not want you to take a copy of something you are signing? Edit to add following their response: they refused to send me the paperwork, they insisted that I attend in the office, I quote from their email "it will be necessary for you to come to our office in person to complete the application forms", mind you this is the Deposit agreement, not the contract, I said I'm working, can I sign online, they said no, you need to come to the office and sign it.
2) I reported a leak in November and they only started chasing for it to be sorted in Jan because I consulted a solicitor after they refused to share the landlord so I can take photos and show the landlord few months of neglect (until now March, the wall is still moldy, so landlords watch out). Edit to add: their response claims it was out of their hand, I asked them several times to manage the issue and not expect me to be constantly chasing for resolution, and they only did 2 months after because I requested the landlod's details, they completely left me to it although they are paid to manage the issue.
3) yesterday, and for the first in 38 yrs of life, I locked myself out of the property, and the very first thing they say "sorry we can't help you it's your responsibility" !! And I was holding the phone in distress thinking, who is blaming you for anything? Im a female alone on the street on a Friday night were drunk ppl are everywhere in a city where I have no relatives or friends I only work here, my family are two hours away. My credit card is in a small case with the keys. I called them again and asked if I can get the landlords number, then I can get a taxi there, grab the keys and back, then i'll have my credit card and pay the driver, "nope he's aware as he'll be notified and it is your responsibility, get a locksmith if they can help". I have no idea what a locksmith is and how they'll get me in, I called 3 and all were closed after hours. Eventually my phone died. It is d:sgusting attitude, lack any level of empathy or support, they don't care if their actions lead to you getting kidnapped or attacked. Mind you I haven't seen any agreements about ignoring tenants in situation where they are locked out. Apparently, something they agreed with the landlord that clearly has direct impact on me as a tenant. Stay away. Edit to add: following their response, a decent agency will make an effort to provide an after-hour locksmith to support their tenants, and its acceptable to bill the tenants because it is their fault. But these guys don't care if you're in distress, they'd rather you're left on the street because, having tried it, finding a locksmith after hours is much harder than you think. Mind you, I have nothing from these guys indicating what they are responsible for, so none of that was communicated before.

Edit to add following their response; it is false claim that they've been great since the start of my tenancy. My tenancy started with a wonderful team working for Samuel James, and then these guys took over 1.5yrs after, and the first time I report an issue they ignore it until threatened with the landlord. And just to add, because why not (!), I've agreed with the landlord (through parkers) that I only want inspections done once every 12 months, and guess what? These guys continue to send inspectors 3 times a year. Poor service.

1) Contract visibility - All of our contracts are sent digitally with no time restrictions on their validity before being signed. These are also signed and kept digitally to make the lettings process quicker and easier for referencing.

2) Leak - Unfortunately, this issue was out of our control and sits with the building manager, who we continuously chased for updates on the repairs.

3) Locked out of the property - Reviewing our phone logs, our out of hours team explained this current situation requires you to call a local locksmith who would be able to change the locks and provide you with a new key to the property.

When a property is fully managed by Parkers, we aim to help tenants who have locked themselves out whenever we can. With this situation, our out of office team provided the best advice and recommended a local Reading locksmith.

Great service from Tammy

I've been looking for a desk space for a bit of time on and off for a bit of time, and I wasn't finding what I wanted within my budget. I had a short call with Tammy, I explained what I wanted and she found me a brilliant space ticking all my boxes literally 5mins walk away! She addressed few questions about the contract length and price and managed the negotiation with the space management, and she really had my interest. End to end service was very quick, she arranged a viewing at a suitable time, and I was ready to sign the contract! Wonderful lady, I recommend her strongly and would use her service again
