Paid for fireside delivery - Driver not happy to fulfil
We have been using this company for over 22 years, under their different name changes (CPL when we first used them). The main depots have now shut, and we had our first experience after our lovely coalman was made redundant. I was told the service wouldn't change.
However, we paid the extra to have it delivered to the fireside as we have always done for the last 22 years. When the driver turned up, he made it perfectly clear that he didn't want to deliver to the coal bunker and negotiated (told us) it being delivered to just inside the gate - he preferred dumping at the top of the path at first!. My husband felt guilty (even though we had paid extra for the service) and was going to have to move the 40 + (25 Kgs) bags himself, even though he broke his back 10 years ago. Thankfully, because the guy had such an attitude (which I agreed with after seeing our Ring doorbell footage), my husband explained that they had always delivered to the coal bunker with no issues. He did deliver the bags in the end!
I phoned the company and I was told that Customer Services would phone and discuss, however, they haven't even phoned back!!
Going to have to find another company that delivers to the curbside and pay someone separately to move the coal into situ, but I won't be using this company again! The worst thing they ever did getting rid of the local depots.
