I haven't even got to the airport yet, and things go from bad to worse. I foolishly assumed, being a 'flagship' airline, that the service from Air India would be good. Having booked to travel premium economy from UK to Thailand via Delhi, it was a matter of a few days before the itinerary was changed. A longer layover in Delhi meant I had to change my travel plans when I reach Thailand. Now I have been informed that the second part of the journey, from Delhi to Bangkok, has been downgraded to economy. I booked premium economy because I want the extra space to help my health on this long flight. I have been given no explanation, no refund for the downgrade and it is impossible to speak to a person via the, (laughingly), named helplines or customer service. I have been flying to Thailand for 20 years, with various carriers, and I have never experienced such appalling service.
